Atlus acknowledging P2 warms my soul
Oh they've been doing this for a while now on Twitter. Problem is, everytime they post anything P1~2 related people rampage.
(atlus has a ton of games that need to be ported, localized or even re-localized, but all we get is radio silence. Not everyone takes that well enough...)

This is the game that introduced me to the Persona franchise. This warms my heart so much seeing this get some attraction. It's been so long. This game hit me in so many ways in my heart
the only attraction its getting is from people who already know the game tho
This was my 2nd one, I had Revelations: Persona on the PS1. Regardless this game needs a re-release!
My first was Persona 3 Portable, but I bought this and didn’t really get far.
@@Jambosm0key I don’t think I have P3P but I know I have Persona 3 FES and it’s really good. I think P3P has extra content if I’m not mistaken so I do need to pick it up before they shut down the Vita/PSP Store.
@@richardaaron4454 The psp’s playstation store has been shut down, but the vita one is still up and running. You can get a (legal) copy of p3p there.

PERSONA 2!!! LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO!!!! I LOVE THIS CAST THE MOST!!! The way they were fleshed out was incredible. Everything felt great.
I'm about to jump into this game. Can't wait to meet the cast!
Havent played 1 or 2 because from what i have heard they arent good, but i still want to try them out.

1 isn't for everyone, but 2 is genuinely amazing! The problem is, people go into 2 expecting what they got from 3/4/5, even though 1 and 2 are completely different, more akin to Mainline Shin Megami Tensei than Modern Persona (in terms of gameplay, anyways)
@@youraveragedude9325 the problem with 2 especially is the grind for Tarot cards which is a bummer early game but talking to demons was hell of a lot fleshed out than the rest of the series, in the newer games it's just there as an extra, 1 and 2 on the other hand it's part of the main system with each and every demon having personalities and having their prefered character(s) to talk to, also, a lot of the best rumors can only be gotten from talking to demons which gives you a lot of opportunities in-game and stores to unlock through rumors only.
P2EP for me has the best cast since most of them are adults unlike most of the series, some even having personal vendettas, try it, the wild ride might change your mind

Unbreakable Tie is probably my favorite Lotus Juice song out of all the tracks he's done for Persona specifically
I miss Citrus Punch... does he still even collaborates with Atlus? Later games haven't had him as far as I recall.
@@pianistor555 He doesn't do vocals as much anymore but he still writes the lyrics for a lot of songs.

@@fnvfan0145 Tbh it doesn't matter which version of EP they port. The only notable differences EP PSP has is the overhauled UI aesthetic, the Additional Scenario, and the All Defend option in battles. Other than that, unlike IS PSP (which was arguably worse than the original due to the combat being much slower), the combat is exactly the same as the originals, same flow and same difficulty.

If Atlus will reveal a Persona 1+2 remaster or port for modern console I will lose my mind from joy, I am THIS CLOSE to buying all the Persona games on the Vita and if they do this I will gladly spend more money for this company go keep pleasing it's fans

Love this game.
Unbreakable Tie is still one of my favorite songs from the Persona series. I never got a chance to play Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment but I hope one day Atlus could port both games including Persona 1 to the Switch and make them accessible to the fan base because there are some gamers who started the series on Persona 3 and went on with 4 and 5 afterwards.
I was able to play it digitally thanks to PS3 and I had a PSP. Maybe try that. I think the PS3 Digital store is still up? Or wait for whatever announcement they have coming up. PS3 had a lot of SMT classic games on its digital store 😆.

@@donglegs Nah it isn't. The only thing they did was shut down card payment for sake of security. You can now buy things only by using PS Gift cards
Persona 2 duology. What a STORY, this game had! The characters in this felt so realistic, so well-written, real people dealing with real-life problems (something still missing from many jrpgs). Imagine characters like Maya and Tatsuya in a remake, with voice actors and everything. Ok, i can stop dreaming now - but seeing all these openings again gives me hope that we're about to see something new concering the first Persona games! Am i right, Atlus?... Well, at least a remaster or ports (or this anime series that never happened). Something's about to come... right?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PERSONA 2 AND ITS CAST SO MUCH. It's by far the best cast, with an amazing story and it's my favourite persona game!

Have been waiting for this opening 😀. Love this cast the most. Definitely felt the most fleshed out between both parts (if you played part 1 and 2 of Persona 2).

My favorite opening is finally here!
the best story in the ENTIRE persona series. i was blown away by how clever and mind boggling the plot was. it kept me wanting to play more. i absolutely adore IS. it's one of my favorite persona games to date.

Crazy that it took so long for this to actually be brought to the West… and even than they had to screw this one up but taking away features like the Story Creator mode, which was what I was interested in trying out the most after hearing of it on Siliconera.
If they finally bring this Duology back, they BETTER bring back that mode.
They should also bring back the battle system from the PS1 version which was a lot faster, and also raise enemy stats to match the PS1 version as well. While they're at it, rebalance the skills to be more like EP. Ma- skills being stronger than their single target counterparts is dumb as hell.

Sure, Atlus advertises the PSP ports as "remakes", but the assets and code (aside from UI and other changes) are exactly the same as the PSX originals. Nothing was "remade", it was directly ported and somewhat modified.

@@TGAM2005 the megami wiki says there a new scenario for tatsuya in the psp version of eternal punishment, if we talking addions. There some other that are mainly gameplay options.

With the poll Atlus did for games to get remakes, the list had Persona 3 and Etrian Odyssey among the list, with P3 getting the 1st spot. We've now gotten and are getting remakes for both of those. Persona 2 duology was right behind P3, so there's a fair chance, if 3 does well.
Even if we don’t get a remake of P1 & P2 Duology, I hope we get a re-release so I don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars just to play it legitimately.

This opening truly slaps. I never got to play any of the iterations of P2 or it’s sequels but I know my sister loves it for a reason. One day I would love to play it.
Story-wise, Persona 2 probably rates the highest for its tighter, more character-focused narrative than its sequels.

its probably because persona 1 and 2 are spin offs of shin megami tensei up until persona 3 the "persona" series of games wasn't really a thing because they were spin offs
thats why theres returning characters from shin megami tensei and persona 1 into persona 2 but none of that in persona 3

Not like it used to in persona 1 &2, but merely as Easter egg, like Katsuya,yukari, chie, Akihiko showing up in persona 5.
They would have to overhaul everything about persona 1 and 2 to give it the reload treatment since it didn’t have any of the persona elements from 3 onwards

I think the one from the remake has the best sequence in a persona opening. (The one where Philemon vanishes)
So simple, no catchy song, no fireworks but simple strength of the main cast and the heaviness of Eternal Punishment built upon “him”.

Since Igor's voice actor passed away, and Atlus unlikely will replace him, I hope Philemon returns in the next games and not just make small appearances as a butterfly.
I literally played Persona 2 PSP much sooner than I planned to like the start of one year instead of the end ahead of other games simply because I watched the opening and couldn't get the song out of my head for like a month so I went you know what fine I'll play it ahead of schedule
I really wish EP PSP had an English release. I'm a big fan of this version... now I need to pick up a new PSP battery lol I'm itching to play this again.
When JRPG were based on teenagers killing god and not teenagers killing god in a date simulator.
The persona game that has hands down the best story of ALL of the 5 installments. If this was remade with persona 5 graphics, hell even persona 3/4 style I would be content with due to its archaic gameplay.
Honestly the gameplay isn't so much "archaic" as it is "ruined by a port that made the combat way too sluggish"
