I know this video is a little older but oh my goodness ! I am so happy I stumbled across this. I’ve had my little 4 year old rescue pup for a little over a year now and when she does it, it’s loud and it’s scary I have cried several times because I thought she was having an emergency. She usually does it after she sneezes, or when the grass has been cut or when she goes into my roommates room which I’ll be honest is not very clean.(yuck ikr!) but I finally have an explanation and it’s really put my mind at ease. So thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and informing myself and all the others.
Wow, this video really helps! My parents and I thought that our dog had extreme asthma when he started doing this and we were very scared because it sounded like he couldn't breathe. I've found that stroking him, cuddling, and opening his mouth gently helps reduce/stop the "reverse sneezing" within around ten seconds. Again, thanks so much for this video! :D
Thank you for posting this ..:: my GS has woken me up 2x now in the middle of the night doing this …. I was scared to death thinking he cld not breath …. They last soooo long and terrified me …….. it was so helpful to see your pup showing same symptoms of my baby …… I am so thankful and now so relieved …… but It still is a scary thing to witness :( But knowing it’s not as harmful as I let my mind think is very comforting to know he is not in pain or to much distress…. Thank you
I went to 2 different VETS in 1 week about this in March. Camera down the throat and full sedation. $225. Didn't help at all. Next vet was a camera up the nose which saw nothing $1258. Then a sinus flush which cleared it up for 3 months, now in June it's coming back and my vet recommended CT scan for $2600 to diagnose this condition without fail. Because of a fucking sneeze! Not 1 of the 2 veterinarians who saw him even said the words reverse sneezing to me.

not even joking i got so fucking scared for my dog it's not even funny when i think about it now as i know what it is....literally felt like my dog was going to collapse and leave me forever....almost felt like a member of my family is dying...
The first time my dog ever made this noise, we were sharing a blueberry muffin (safe and edible for dogs and humans) and he started doing this. But it was VERY LOUD and instead of it being three or four reverse sneezes in a row, it was two really long ones lol. He does this anytime I’m eating something that has a lot of crumbs. Even if he’s barely even near me.
Thank you 😊 my dog was just doing this. I just adopted him a week ago he's a 3 year old black male doberman and he's is the sweetest little cuddle bum ever!

Thank you so much for posting this. My dog just all of a sudden went nuts doing this so I panicked and called the vet. They weren’t helpful at all and couldn’t get my pup in for days so I googled lol. This helped me feel sooo much better at knowing what it was! Again, thank you! :)
All these days I was so worried about Auggie.. Thank you so much for the clarification 👍
My dog has done this for over a year, and we had no idea that this was happening until I looked it up. I greatly appreciate your video. This has cleared a lot from my mind!
My pup started gasping for air last night and my husband and I were freaking out and calling the ER but apparently it was just doggie sniffles #NewParents
One of my 5-month-old Yorkiepoos started doing this earlier this evening, and I was literally like “what do I call this so I know how to look it up??”
I was super worried as well. Whew! #firsttimedogparents
I got several results for it when I searched, ranging from lung cancer to heart issues, which scared me quite a lot and then I see this. God it has been quite a relief!
thanks for posting this video it helped me a lot.
my dog jack,a border collie aged 8 started doing this recently,
it lasted about a month, worrying at first but after looking online and seeing
this became less so.He has actually stopped now.
I don't like to admit this, but it might help somebody else,i think our carpet
was full of dust and after purchasing a new vacuum cleaner and using it
every day the dog is fine.
Thank you! I was just trying to describe to my vet that my dog was doing this, and he suggested I look up reverse sneezing. This is what my dog is doing and I get so worried every time it happens! I feel so much better now, thank you!
Oh my god, my dog started doing this and I thought she was having a bad reaction to the fleas we have, or the meds we’ve been using. I’m so glad I looked it up, I was so scared for her!
Just found. I am elated to know what my dog just went through didn't harm her. Excellent informative video!!!!
Jeeze.. I’m over here freakin out cause my dog has never done this before an has done this twice in the last 30 min. Wow,.. glad I found this video.
My dogs do this a lot and I didn’t know this was a actually thing. Thank you for the information! I will definitely know to not freak out when it happens again
Thank you!!! I’ve been wondering this for a long time
Thank you! Our older dog did this tonight and scared us! This video helped so much!
Okay, thank you! I was freaking out
And also ty for not adding adds
Thank you doctor! This is a huge relief, and I will follow up with my vet! 🐕 ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I was thinking how am I going to look up “dog sniffing” without it showing the obvious lol reverse sneeze is a perfect explanation! I thought my dog was going to choke !
I was so worried when my dog started doing this . Finally , I found this video and now I am relaxed. Thank you for the information 👍.
My dog does this, I noticed it’s when he gets excited and just in general when he’s happy. They last around 10 seconds but he’s fine.
same in my 2 shih tzu
Thank you so much for posting this, you relived my anxiety!
I used to think my dog had asthma, this helps so much, now I can stop worrying 😩🙏🏽
YOU JUST GAVE ME THE BIGGES COMFORT IN LIFE. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART
Me: There’s something very wrong with my dog. She’s hyperventilating.
My vet: Watch this video…
Me: Yup that’s it!
Thanks for posting!
Lol this is literally me 5 minutes ago
Just found this video and it helped me not freak out about my dog. Thank you!
My little pup she does this but she did way harder and I thought she was dying thank you so much for the video
Thanks so much for this! Really helps to clarify what goes on with my dogs on occasion.
I thought my dog was hyperventilating!! Thank you for this video! 🥰🐶🥰
My dog done this just now and the panic was ridiculous. Thanks so much for this video
when my doggy does this, i go to her and pet her until she calms down. i find it really cute how petting her calms her down really fast
Yes vets are not completely reliable. I am glad for this video. Else I might have ended up spending a tonne of cash on this issue too.
Seems the Vets are ripping people off these days. I find it shameful.
Complete garbo, The only time my Aussie has ever seen a vet in his 5 years was to get his rabbies shot right after i got him... i'm glad this awesome person posted this video otherwise i might have taken him in soon. (if it does turn out to be mites he will be going in though...)
thank God for youtube! my corgi mix does this and my first reaction was to hold him gently and comfort him. It happens now and then. he always comes to be comforted when it happens!
Divya Pari hi my dogs been doing this for over two years and I’m skint
Had Nasal flush also xrays
You name it he’s had it done
Just found out vitamins like B vitamin complex and 500mg of vit c works
Also I give him omega 3 oil
Do your own research but don’t let them rob you Vit c 🤗
Every time I was so scared ! Thank you so much for this information!!!
My dog did this at 4:30 am last night and i was terrified, I thought he was choking. Will take him to the vet tomorrow just to be sure.
The_Howler that just happened to me. My dog woke me up doing that and it scared the crap out of me. 😕
What did vet say
Same here, it's 5:23 am in Norway >.
What did the vet say
not even joking i got so fucking scared for my dog it's not even funny when i think about it now as i know what it is....literally felt like my dog was going to collapse and leave me forever....almost felt like a member of my family is dying...
Watching this in 2021.. my puppy made this sound for the first time (6 months old) and I freaked out. This video is much appreciated. !
Oh, good, now I can explain this to my family when my dog reverse sneezes again. I thought it was some sort of breathing problem.
I called the vet hospital and she directed me to your video. What a relief 😮💨 1 dog owner is almost like 1st baby 🍼
Oh my God thank you so much for posting this, I was so worried
Oh my god. I finally found out what this is! My vet had no clue!!!
Thank you 😊 my dog was just doing this. I just adopted him a week ago he's a 3 year old black male doberman and he's is the sweetest little cuddle bum ever!
Thank you so much. Exactly what my border collie does very rarely, but scary.
This is exactly the Sound im hearing. I was freaking out. Thank you so much!!!
My dog reverse sneezes so badly that she sounds like she is farting from her mouth. It scares me a lot
Mine too! Glad I'm not alone.
So grateful I found this video!! My pup has done this twice in the last couple weeks but he’s fine after a few seconds. I was about toto lose it. But I knew he must have been fine bc he goes back to normal and his regular activities after a few seconds.
I was about to rush my dog to the vet before my boyfriend told me to look up reverse sneezing and I’m so glad I did, mine drank too much water, puked all over my bed and then started doing this and I had a panic attack
