- Third year working alone on my handmade log cabin. Hewing and splitting logs, forging nails and more. To craft my own windows for the off grid log cabin in the forest of Sweden.

Thank you. I am filming with a new camera (Sony a7s iii) 4K. Really put in excessive amount of time with every shot in this video. New battery powered lights also for better video quality. Always want to learn new cinematography skills.

As with most UA-cam videos, the bit I'm most impressed by is that they manage film everything whilst they're doing it
It's all art, if Erik was located in the US he could sell his work, tables, chairs, window frames for many thousands of dollars
The dedication and hardwork he put in this build is really amazing. And he is just a 20 year old who knows a lot of stuff where many in his age doesn't.

Wow! You're incredible, Erik. Forging your own nails was over the top. I kind of expected you were going to make your own glass from sand, or something laying about the cabin!
That got me thinking, how the heck they transported sheets of glass back in the days. Must have been hard on a bumpy horse carriage or something.

Fascinating. No project is too big a challenge for you. Looks like you have developed some smithing skills in the last few months. Not only was the craftsmanship a joy to watch, but the quality of the video was beyond. Those beautiful vistas, skyscapes. and shots in the dark show how your skills as an artist and videographer have risen to a high level. I loved the final scene where you placed the plant in the window. The focus stayed on the window as we heard the sound of the door closing and your foot falls faded into the distance. Now that is a storyteller's vignette.I have followed the construction of the cabin from the beginning and even though i don't know you personally, I feel a great deal of pride in your progress. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

This young man is a testament to humankind and the excellence we can and should achieve, if we weren't so spoiled by and bogged down with modern life. Many of us have projects or hobbies that require some know how and patience... and we can sit back afterwards and be proud of what we build, no matter the scale or scope. This person, however, is inspiring on a level well beyond what his age would lend us to believe. Honestly, and I don't think I'm alone, this video series lifts my spirit and encourages me to have a better attitude towards ALL things in my life. There's plenty of great content on UA-cam, but I am truly grateful for Erik and his amazing contribution to this platform.

Im so glad when your videos come out. There's something about this rustic pastoral life that seems like the way we as people were meant to live and a satisfaction in craftsmanship, time spent in hard work that rewards with outcome and a sense of purpose. These videos bring me joy as a piece of wish fulfillment, a daydream for myself but it also just simply makes me happy to know that Erik has this opportunity and I truly hope he enjoys it and it hasnt turned into a slog for him.

There are only a handful of cabin builders that I watch and they all have there own signature on them but for Erik he probably is hands down the best at it I've seen on utube but that dosen't mean I'm putting the others down but my God the knowledge this young lad has is just fascinating to me ..Erik I can't get enough of your talented work! I know you have read it, and probably heard it before, but your skills are far beyond your young age. Where did you learn how to do so many different things and do them so well?

One thing I've always wondered is how do you keep warm in the winter? I could be missing it, but I don't see any kind of stove inside. Your outdoor fire pit/BBQ is equally amazing I was just figuring you did most all your cooking outside.

In a day and age where use planers and molders to create S4S and moulded and profiled wood we still have craftsmen out there who can still create it by using hand tools. Awesome work my friend. Nice to see there are people who still pride themselves into believing they can create anything if they stick with it.

Erik, have you thought about building or buying a water container to preserve and save the rain water (maybe by filtering it) so you could have easier access to water around the lodge for cooking and washing hands? Also have you had the flu many times when being there?

Erik, excellent as always! Do you study first how to do each task? I would think making windows and their frames require learning first. Everything you create including your UA-cam content looks so effortless. You are truly gifted. One thing! By placing the hinge set on the outside, it looks like someone could easily break in. These videos are my favourite on UA-cam. Don't we all just long for these simpler things again?.. the modern world is great in many ways, but we've let go of so much richness in life, I think we've done so needlessly as well.

I like your series, and I liked this video in general, but I think the title of this one is misleading, click-baity and over the top. You didn't "handcraft" your own windows. You handcrafted the rough openings into which you then hung shop-bought windows. A big difference.
Another cool thing is seeing how much muscle he's put on from all this hard work in the past three years haha
