Big Shout out to Tony for hooking us up with a new set of wheels for the corvette!
Ben u know wat color would look great on that the blue that’s on the bmw
@@chief-Lonewolf93 but white sill hide any imperfections
@@chief-Lonewolf93 White cars are the bomb! Especially sports cars
thats a bit of luck getting those rims :o
@@freddythefrog70 I just love that blue tho white looks good an all but blue is better I do have a white 07 Lexus is250 with carbon hood an stuff it’s nice but I could afford a paint job I sure would do it blue
Ben this one 8s moving along. It will be finished before we know it. Great job as always. Half a car.. or just 1 panel its always a joy to watch you fix em! Congrats on life.. keep being you and doing you. Stay safe and be well.
This build is going real good and you guys are awesome. Thank you so much.
All your panel beating on the M3 video and this on the C8 is great, Respect from the UK.
Coming along nicely. Congrats on the up and coming wedding
Jake is being a great off spider 👍👍
Many blessings for you, and congratulations on your big wedding day! Love your videos! 🎉🎉
Thanks for letting us see how the corvette project is going. Glad to hear you found love and are getting married. Glad you have your priorities straight and are focusing on your wedding and future wife. Some people say - Happy wife, happy life and I would agree this is true. 😊
Congratulations on your marriage may god bless you and your family
Congratulations on the marriage! 🎉
You guys should invest in a air board to sand the trunk it's long a straight so no wripples and use 60 and 80 grit to take it down to straight your making work for your self with that band file
Bro whatever colour this thing is going you gotta do the outline of the wheels the same it would bang‼️💯💯💯
Nice Job ……. Good video, you gotta brother !!
Good to see ya….. look for a new channel… building a C4 LT5 6 speed ZR1 40th anniversary ruby, red Corvette
It's not primer on bumpers and body panels made from fibreglass it is what's called gel coat and it brushed or rolled onto the mould before the fibreglass is applied to the mould then when the part is removed from the mould the gel coat comes away with the fibreglass, you can spray gel coats on fibreglass is you wanted to.
you should keep Jake around. I like that guy
El Paso China
Lol
Your awesome Brother!!
congrats men
Another great video
Big shout out to China for stepping up and making a heap of factory parts for the good ole AMERICAN Corvette
How long did it take from ordering body parts from gm to receiving them. As I heard horror stories trying to get those parts
Still waiting on another firestang video!!!
I like when a channel narrates over the time lapses explaining what’s happening at that moment. Nicely done
I agree. That was key:
I really like how you do the voiceover while the Timelapse is going. It really lets us know what your thinking and plus added detail incase someone else want to do it. Any added detail is much appreciated during Timelapse.
Glad to see Jake in the mix, you guys make a killer team 👍
Definitely a great dynamic and some good banter between them both 👍
yeah make it less boring and stressful for ben to be working alone.
Ben, glad you like the wheels!❤. Looking forward to your progress on the car! Congrats on getting married as well!
Congratulations for the upcoming wedding, wich you a happy and prosperous marriage
only stupid go marry young and waste life.
Great series Ben and congratulations on your forthcoming wedding! 🙏
Excellent Work! With it being a 1LT and since you have it all apart, it would be a good idea to add the rear mirror camera which will help with the blind spots.
Tony was able to offset the high cost of those Forgeline Wheels, by selling you the stock wheels. Forgeline are nice wheels but, very expensive.
I'm like alll your video my friend you are the truth
All cars manufactured for the US market since 2018 have rear view cameras installed, regardless of trim.
@@brianbentley1395 i’m referring to the rear view mirror camera that the 1LT Coupe is not equipped with. It mounts on the rear engine lid hatch. Not talking about the reverse camera on the rear deck/bumper.
Can't believe that a back up camera is a option !😝
Loving this build bro
Ben, one thing I love about these projects is how much strong effort you (and Jake!) put into restoring the cars to "like it never happened" stock. Love watching your videos :) And Congrats on getting married! I suspect that you'll be spending less time in the shop though - I hope your new wife understands our insatiable demand for CONTENT! I know it's going to be a difficult thing to balance.
I am stunned by how good that fiberglass repair looks. Honestly looks like you just swapped out the trunk lid for a new one off camera! haha. Those wheels are not 3LT wheels, but they are upgraded from base option. The standard wheels are the same 5 spoke style in silver, the black wheels are a $500 option. They are also my favorite wheel option for the car. I am not a fan of the other trident wheels that are available for the C8. The black wheels are gonna look amazing with the white paint.
I like seeing Jake Helping Ben can't see this build Finish and See what @Vtuned has next in store.
Good video Ben, and finally you did some voice over!!! please continue!
So, is Jake gonna be a regular on the channel or is this Corvette his car that you're rebuilding for content?
If V’s on the job you just know it’s gonna be OEM spec
I have a feeling Goonzquad is going to keep you busy on their Aventador. Lots of frame work needed on that one.
aventaro not need vtune frame work, goonz boys can glue and resin DIY all frame crack if have, not important.
Not really, the car has a full carbon fiber tub, frame work is not really needed.
@@j.d.8593 Just the passenger cockpit is made out of carbon. The front and rear sub frame that bolt to the monocoque are made out of aluminum and will definitely need professional frame work be in the right position.
Oh really dude, buy some hot sauce dude….you mean those guys
The two clowns can't fix the Aventador without VTuned helping them out!!
You give up on the mustang and Ferrari? Samcrac needs to pay you more!
Has a lift in the shop and cannot even use it 😅😅😅
When working with fibreglass put baby powder over your arms so u don't itch as much
You really should be using an SMC(polyester based) compatible fiberglass resin like West systems or Evercoat specifically for SMC(100864). When you use a normal resin you will see the repair ghost back or possibly crack over time.
I marvel at vTuned's skills. A fiberglass car? No problem! What can't he do?! He can do it all!!
But on second thought, he can't finish a 1960s Mustang. Zero for two on that front ...
Good News get married next month very happy vtuned Garage Ben watching on UA-cam videos Chevrolet corvette c8 v8 6:2l auto couple very good job on car with cousin josb help very good job on car I love like support and number one ☝️
Wait so the entire quarter panel on a c8 is just glue? Nothing is metal and welded, just plastic?
Why don't you guy's use a Fibreglass Compression roller that specifically designed for compressing fibreglass matting and quickly removes air bubbles from fibreglass sheeting? They're really cheap and gives you a much better result.
Congratulations Ben on the impending wedding! I think I heard you mention your wedding in a previous episode. The Vette is coming along just fine. I understand how you feel about things being made in China. A corvette is the last car I imagined that would have Chinese made parts. It will be nice to see those parts hit so you can get this ride back on the street where it belongs. All the best to you & your bride. See you in the next installment.
Keep doing the great work, this world needs more of it.
Congratulation on your wedding hoop you have a beautiful one
V Tuned great show ,nice to see you guys looking after your health and safety , and clean working environment, one of the best car channels on you tube.
😅
I really like the voiceover on the timelapse explaining what is happening. So much more interesting that just music.
Gogo Canada Merci😮 Québec M.T.L love wow
Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Great video. Awesome work as always.
Not to sound like my 3rd grade teacher but it's said Jake and I, Not me and Jake.
The panels are actual SMC (Sheet Molded Composite) and not fiberglass. Be careful what products you use, or you get cracking issues. You can make small wood or plastic blocks as spacers to determine your spacing and gaps. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Generally on these channels if you reply with solid advice it gets ignored and drowned out by the "Yo bro, that's super fire" comments.
Ben and Jake great team work. Ben it is awesome that you have Jake helping you and can take some pressure off you. Thanks for sharing your content of the Corvette guy's. Peace.
If you didn't have parts made in China the car would have been a hell of a lot more expensive
loving the new team up with jake its awesome!
Awesome job guys perfect on the fiber glass
HI V-TUNED GREAT VIDEO ON DOING BODYWORK AND GETTING THE WHEELS FOR THE VETTE. THE CAR IS LOOKING GREAT SO FAR. CONGRATS ON YOUR WEDDING COMING UP. Y'ALL TAKE CARE.
If you’re keeping it white those wheels in antiqued brushed bronze would look sick…and I don’t know if it’s just me but that primer reminds me of a battleship gray - gloss with matte black accents…killer!
Really liking this rebuild, looks like an "easy" repair. You guys work well together.
Can’t wait to see this beast Finished
Is it me, or is the attention to detail going to be better than original?
Congrats on the upcoming nuptials.
Another great video Ben getting on nicely I see, and by the way congratulations man herd you say you getting married next month good luck to the both of you man, can't wait to see the car finished 👌 looks like it's getting on nicely and fast to Ben!. Piece 👊👊👍
Great work bro keep doing what you do
Nice work on that fiberglass!!!!! The vette will be awesome to drive around.
Im so glad Ben. Getting a wife. Congratulations 💙
Another informative video Ben. You are making great progress. I was glad to see you wearing breathing protection. Yea Ben! Yea Ben!
Congrats bruh keep on grinding
🎉
It’s good you’ve got some help , definitely makes life easier for you I bet 👍🏽👍🏽 great work boys
First to comment about nothing all the way from South Africa, love your work my guy 👍❤️
Houtkop
Good on you Tony!!! Way to look out for our boy.
Heck yeah!
Congrats on on getting married soon.
Hey hey fucknnn hey LOL it's ya goofy m8te from Australia 😆 love ya show [ HOLDEN COMMODORE VE UTE HSV Maloo R8 E series LS3 turbo start up accelerate sound ] - mate type that in on utube watch n enjoy...it only goes for 1.56 sec but wait till you see it..on a big screen..[ let me know what you think about the car in a reply ] ya goofy m8te from Australia
ok but those body panels are NOT fiberglass - they are a SMC composite much like a plastic. It's basically the latest iteration of glass composite. They use microspheres of glass now instead of strands/fibers.
Don't get married Ben!
Hallo!!!Dude where the F..k is Your MUSTANG. ❤😂😢😅 FAN. SWEDEN 🇸🇪. Time dude time.
Congratulations on the upcoming wedding, and fantastic work on the fibreglass repair, it looked like nothing had ever happened to it
Hola amigos saludos desde CDMX de 🇲🇽👍, te va a quedar bien chingón como el MC,laren y para cuando el Mustang
No fluff. Just straight fire content.
I enjoy all your videos. Being old school body worker (experience with lead from years ago) small note is say helpers name first then say I and you sound more professional. I'm working on a 26-year-old R50 pathfinder but on retirement makes it a long and enjoyable project. Keep the videos coming!!
Vtuned CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding ..love the work you do.
Check out West System fiberglass products. Also check out fiberglass tape and 4 ox cloth.
I enjoy seeing the way the C8 is built.
Dang son Jake about to have the cleanest c8 in Chattanooga
Ben you Jake are the Man’s plural x2 !!!!! Love that fiberglass work amazing
#vtunedgarage is the truth when it comes to vehicle repair. I done seen a learned alot behind fixing on cars by watching the videos
Genius!!!! Congratulations for the upcoming wedding.
Please wish me luck Ben, I get my prostate cancer diagnosis this morning.
Bricking it, not slept
Great to see Jake working with you ...
Hey Ben, mat and resin is the worst! Next time you do a fiberglass repair try USC resin gel, it works awesome. It's like duro glass or tiger hair but is specially made for fiberglass cars. It won't shrink or crack. Great stuff check it out, you will love it.
I'd love to watch a video where you are not saying go ahead constantly.
I believe that the trunk lid is not fibreglass, by the way. I have a sneaky feeling that it is sheet molded composite, which requires different methods to repair. For example, polyester resin will fail every time, and I am sure there are other things that need to be considered for a good repair.
That is a gel coat, not primer, lol.
USE PPE!!!
Congratulations! Loving your content keep up the great work!
Is Jacob another one of your brothers or cousins, Ben?
You have so many, and I have none. 😂😅
Congratulations on getting married Ben! 👏 😊
I like that McClaren but I heard that they quoted an owner $59,000 for new rotors because they had to be hand made by them. The guy ended up having them made custom in the US for less than $1000. I think I would rather have the Corvette C8 because it would be just as fun to drive and I would not be worried about breaking the bank on maintenance and insurance.
The first car I ever worked on was a 1953 Corvette replica. It was a fiberglass body that was damaged. Fiberglass sucks to work with for sure.
Great video and an interesting build . . . there's a BUT coming haha . . . i'm from the UK (so that's my excuse), tell me, why do some folk in there videos have to repeat themselves?, maybe this is a US thing, i have heard the term that US folk are 'word smiths' i guess they like to milk it a little more, make videos longer, where as us Brits prefer a concise answer to the problem, i.e. stop talking and more worky worky (not working here then haha) - so Ben (love you man, great work) in the first minute describes three brand new panels to replace, door, side skirt and rear quarter panel - great, way you go lad, lets get cracking - but no, next minute describes that these panels need replacing and where they are, but we know this already, we get it, you just said, and now you got to tell us, let's go ahead and strip it down, oh ok are you not doing that already? haha
ok i know sometimes these things are hard to edit and it all makes sense when getting maximum for your video - but is this down to editing?, (not poor editing), just making a longer video, could the videos be shorter with out the dribble and repeated word smithing, i think if ever i do this i might not stand in front of the camera, and time lapse with commentary instead, (that's if ever i get around to it) but thank heavens for being able to fast forward, actually i hate doing that, it kind of spoils my viewing in a way
has to be expected Ben, makes sense to glue plastic cars together, remember plastic model kits?, it makes them more rigid, they would fly apart in accidents if they were bolted which become the weakest place for the joint, the bolts themselves would create stress on the joint over time pinching and perhaps fail even before an accident, as you correctly mention spacing on the shut lines is difficult to maintain in manufacturing, i remember well with a UK plastic car the TVR, they were dreadful, they used to have a pile of washers to makeup the difference of fitting, some cars may have 2 one side and 6 the other, it was drastic plastic specials - anyway, still love the content, great to see you and Jake cracking on with an epic build - is he still driving that nice Mustang? and congrats on you getting married soon, all the best for a full and happy future!!
An American classic with so many parts made in China....that's the core of the Vette's problems.
what's up ma! Greetings from Honduras, always here waiting for your videos. I like so much your work.
Is it just me in saying that VTuned drop top C8 Corvette has the same appeal as Goonzquad's Aventador???
🌴ya gotta love it when a build comes together , you are knocking this thing out , team V- Tuned ! 👊🏼👍🏼
