Looks good. Mini splits are great until they fail. Then you need small hands and no fat thumbs to repair. Found this out on a Daikin multi port system. What a headache.
I have over a 100 Daikin units at my day job. It’s a pain for sure.

It's good to know about the preheat on the evap coil.
filter on top, it makes sense to pull in the warmest, stale air from near the ceiling. even more so for heating mode on heat pump units.

I am building an ADU .500sq ft
I was going to go with the 18k Mr cool diy .
As Costco sells them .
I am an HVAC controls electrician by trade .
Most jobs in Bay Area they use Daikan , Mitsubishi, Samsung for electrical and IDF rooms .
Any thoughts on Mr Cool ?
I’ve put them in. So far so good.

I put a Mr. Cool in one of my garages. I'm in Florida and I can keep the garage door open and it still keeps it cool. As Dave wrote I also put a surge protector on the disco. I had a lot of room where to put the condenser so I was able to use the DIY precharged line unit without the ugly rollup in the back. I ran the lineset down the inside garage wall to come out low. I used white line hide plus the tool boxes mostly hide it. I poked out the block wall behind the bushes and used brown line hide to match the gutters. You don't see any of it from the street except the condenser on the hurricane house bracket. It came out really nice but I am OCD so it would bother me if I did a kaka job.
