So nice of you to put the wet rag over the condenser when you blow it out. A true Super Tech.

Hearing and sight is a huge part of it . Usually the unit will tell you what’s wrong or at least point you in the right direction.

That’s looks like an old leer 40. I miss working on ice merchandisers. Leers were the best to work on in my experience.

Good stuff Dave. Been having issues with TXVs lately. Not from the actual valve being bad but from poor installation issues. Units haven’t been getting a good enough vacuum pulled and believe ice is forming in the valve. Pretty sure about it as I recover the charge pull a deep vacuum, recharge and no issues. Just noticed my sticker on the back of the toolbox, looks good there. 😂

yea, 448a , 404 or 422b would have been better choices for sure. but , dave was saying they only want 20 degrees to hold ice bags frozen. so , 134a should be able to handle that with only a tiny struggle. single digit suction temps. personally i'd want it a little colder. not much breathing room since at 33 degrees all your product turns to water. i'd be more comfortable with a 0-10 degree box. Off at 0 & back on at 5-10. Which i would never ask 134a to do commercially. 404 for sure.
On a side note: My home refrigerator is 134a it runs the freezer section down to -10 & it's 21 years old. i Don't know how they do it. Compressor has to be running in a vacuum at those temps.
Ge Hotpoint Residential Side x side Freezer / Refrigerator.
      New in 2003.
i've found if u keep 134a suction out of a vacuum most of the time it will survive ok.
i Did a Motor driven Cold Plate System on a Very old Yacht ( Historic vessel ) back in 2010 i Believe it's still working to this day. i Run it down to a 1lb suction on those 3 cold plates. back on at a 6 lb suction. R-134a. Had to use 134a Because they wanted to Run a Motor driven Compressor. ( Same setup as a Car Airconditioning Compressor Using a Sea Water cooled Condenser.)

Video seems too bright to me. Update: Apparently you’re recording in HDR mode, and my iPad Pro switches brightness in order to accurately playback the video. Doesn’t look that good when I’m expecting dim lighting.

Good vid. no defrost clock needed on coolers any more. do it like a prep table. coil temp. defrost every cycle. digital and stuff sensor in coil. set 25 with 14 diff. done. never a freezer up again. not possible. if it freezes up. stat satisfies & coil temp has to reach 39 before it comes on again. air defrost every cycle & super cold box. 📦
