Congrats Marty! You got the family hookup $17,000 is a steal for the ISF even the mileage is low for the 2UR-GSE with examples in the 300,000 range it's not even a worry. First mod you should do is headers no question it's the biggest powermaker considering you already have the Borla exhaust besides a supercharger do that motor a favor and let it breathe!
muffler, secondary cat delete, and eliminating the rear bogle/choke point (where exhaust flattens) where the catback meets mid pipe almost make the same amount of power for $200 lol.
Everything you mentioned refers to the stock exhaust the car has a Borla on it it doesn't have secondary cats (unless his brother installed a set of secondary cats on the Borla but I doubt it) or the flattened out part of the OEM exhaust system. The biggest choke point is the OEM manifold design it's log style and is very restrictive hence the most amount of rear wheel horsepower comes from putting a set of properly designed headers on this motor.
Now setup a search alert on ebay for RCF or GSF diff and swap if you can find it under 1k. Should bolt up if you swap out the rear diff cover. Looks like it has the right mods for all the other stuff.

Hey there - I just got a 2009 Blue with 67k miles. Does the 2011+ suspension bolt right on? I'm interested in minimal exhaust mods + tune to wake it up more too. Thanks for sharing your experiences, I found this years later :)
AFS light is most likely on due to the bracket that holds the sensor near the rear drivers side wheel. You can duck tape it to the correct position or buy a new bracket for the sensor. Should resolve you’re issue, rarely the headlights are the culprit.
@@MartyMotoring ohh..if there aftermarket headlights scratch what I said..pulling the fuse would actually get rid of the AFS light. I thought you were running OEM head lights
That's one hell of a deal. There's one near me with the same mileage for 23k and I want to hop on it so bad. In the current state of things I should hold off. 😢
Thank you for saying 140k miles is a lot, so many people think it’s low miles and then they throw the fact it’s a Toyota. No shade at the car, I just like the truth spoken.
Man I would just do headers + full system exhaust (borla for me) and a takeda air intake along with a light tune, and then just go all out maintenance wise. Maybe upgrade the brakes, and put a more aggressive gearing? These cars are well overbuilt and you could literally have a true idiot proof race care built for luxury. I will have one, one day.
Yup I want to do PPE headers, and already have the borla Catback so that should be a nice combo. I want to do the Boxed in RR Racing intake for heat purposes. But first doing all the fluids and making sure maintenance is taken care of. Brakes are big brembo 6 piston calipers and already so good, so no need to upgrade from there
@@MartyMotoring I think you could do with a different geared rear end maybe also? Something a lil more aggressive to really put that torque down haha Also I saw another person put RCF seats and steering wheel in, and I thought it came out really well! I love these cars man.
I was in the market earlier this year and I saw one of these at a dealer in south Florida listed for $23.9. Same year and color too. After speaking to the sales guy he told me it would come to $27k out the door. I requested a hold while I got my finances in order. I called back the following day and spoke to another guy only this time he said it was $30k OTD. I told him I was quoted $27k not even 24hrs ago and they wouldn't honor it so I ended the deal. The next day I requested another quote under a different name / email and that came back to $33k OTD. A week later this beautiful 440i i was watching dropped in price ($27k from $30k). I called in with low hopes expecting the same BS mark-ups I got from the previous dealer but to my surprise the manager said only tax and title - $29k OTD. I gave him my down payment right then and there and 2 days later drove off the lot. He even split the cost of title with me. Some dealers really don't give a shit about their customers but every now and then you luck out with ones that do.
Al Ray right on! And smart move on your part. These idiots at the dealers are taking advantage of the internet hype the is f gets which is mostly from pree pube boys that obviously know little about cars except what they see on forza lol. So they figure we’re going to capitalize on that and bend anyone over who comes in for one. My buddy picked up an isf with about 120k miles other than a busted water pump occasional transmission slip and a gasket leak there were no other issues. Initially the dealer wanted 28k for that before taxes, title, plates etc. then the salesman called and told him that there were “two other people interested” and “they’re offering more” if he wanted the car it would be around “$35k” we talked about it I gave him my honest thoughts he agreed and told the salesman the “other guys” can have it at the ripoff price, now tell me why a week and half later the damn thing is still sitting in the parking lot?? 🤔 anyway he got the whole “they decided to back out” BS story and ended up getting the car for $23k out the door after a 5 and 1/2 hour standoff with the thirsty and hungry lexus salesman and managers, and I’m just like I thought they had “two other guys” offer it over $30k? 🤔😂 lolol anyway I’ve driven that car a lot and I can tell you it feels pretty ancient not to mention overweight and slower than a lot of 6’s I mean heck I’ve got a turbo 4 and already have an rcf spanked proper with very little effort, I’m trying to get to the isf out to the track just for fun but my buddy thinks it’ll develop mechanical issues from hard pulls but I’m hopeful he’ll try it at least once.

Thanks! They are out there but hard to find and overpriced which is why I’m lucky to have this one, even if it needs some work. Public auction is always a good bet too!
I actually got that decal on eBay in full size, and just laid it on the window and cut it to fit! I don’t know of any that are made to fit, but that would be cool
Ha, I just bought a cheap IS-F yesterday. 2008 146K on it, and love it already. Previously had a C63 P31 and an M3. Wanted a reliable but fun DD. Good video
Moving on up!
You’re not lying. These are super hard to find. I’ve loved the entire F lineup for years now. Beautiful ride.
Lol you can find plenty in this current market.
@@michaelvang3034 not in the Illinois suburbs, where are you from? Location is key.
@@fightnightfrmdao3277 I’m in CA, but search nationwide. Most who buy these cars ship them from another state.
Nice the mileage is the least of your worries if it's been even decently maintained lexus's will go forever 💪💪
It's the worst looking for one online when dealerships keep listing F-Sports as the IS-F
Good deal. I did get an 09 c63 for less though. Less miles too 🤔 clean title
Nice car! That’s my dream car
Yes, congrats man!
Pretty cool, been on your Lexus IS series since the start and got an IS350 not too long ago, hope to get an F soon
probably less than 5000 on the road at this point, congrats!
$17,000 is a steal
I have a 2011 and have the manifold leak as well, just got PPE headers . Nice car glad you moved up to the Is-F, just subed
Dashboard and door panels are nice. My old Lexus IS panel’s started melting
They aren't as nice as the replacements I got on my old 350, but they held up. They are scratching and chipping a bit.
Looks clean af
Luckily no big scratches or dents! Jut replacement bumpers with newer paint
Just wanted you to know, it is Mark Levinson. His name is printed right there on your radio,
I saw that after making the video lol
@@MartyMotoring lol it must sound good!
I have a 2008 IS F with 218,000 miles. No major issues...you'll be happy.
Hey there - I just got a 2009 Blue with 67k miles. Does the 2011+ suspension bolt right on? I'm interested in minimal exhaust mods + tune to wake it up more too. Thanks for sharing your experiences, I found this years later :)
I love it. Only thing I would do it get rid of spoiler on back window. Other than that it’s clean.
Making me miss my 08 350
WELCOME TO THR F FAMILY
That’s a sweet deal !! Living the 2IS dream brother 💯
the 145 miles is fine my 2011 isf has 155 and it still runs good
awesome deal and i know youyou will make her beauty, hope to have one to someday
Says it’s not mark levinson…. Zooms in on levinson logo! haha congrats dude welcome to the F’amily
Haha I totally missed that…not enough time with the car yet!
145K on the clock... no problem for this car. If you look after it, service and dont do an silly mods, it will run nice till 260K.
Congratulations on your sweet ride
AFS light is most likely on due to the bracket that holds the sensor near the rear drivers side wheel. You can duck tape it to the correct position or buy a new bracket for the sensor. Should resolve you’re issue, rarely the headlights are the culprit.
Hmm never heard of that one. I just pulled the fuse because that’s usually what needs done with aftermarket headlights
@@MartyMotoring ohh..if there aftermarket headlights scratch what I said..pulling the fuse would actually get rid of the AFS light. I thought you were running OEM head lights
Man, i was just thinking today how cool it would be to have this car from the IS 350
Such a badass car… can’t wait till I get my hands on one
That's one hell of a deal. There's one near me with the same mileage for 23k and I want to hop on it so bad. In the current state of things I should hold off. 😢
Ayyy you finally got it
Great deal great deal
Excited to see what the future holds
Thank you for saying 140k miles is a lot, so many people think it’s low miles and then they throw the fact it’s a Toyota. No shade at the car, I just like the truth spoken.
Time 4the crazy mods!!! Whooo whooo!!!
HELL YEAH!!!!
Yesssssss that's was up !!!!
congrads brother its one of my favorite cars and models ever a pure modern classic enjoy!!!!!
Something a lil more aggressive to really put that torque down haha
Also I saw another person put RCF seats and steering wheel in, and I thought it came out really well! I love these cars man.
Nice car congrats brother
Congrats dude!!!
Seems like he does pretty well as a barber!
Great deal, family discount trumps all.
What a great deal, I always regret selling mine. Would love to get one again in the future.
Hey I got my isf for 17.5k last week in PA as well! Congratulations!!
