Appreciate it and sound tubes are natural actually Lexus feeds a pipe directly from the intake to the interior of the vehicle so the driver can hear the induction sound in a more profound manner the V6 cars and up get it
@@MeynMotorGroup what I ment was the isf doesn't have a sound generator like other models, it has a secondary door on the intake that let's more air in over 3500 rpm and what your hearing in the cabin is just the intake with out the sound being boosted, inhanced redirected, kinda like when you use an aftermarket intake with a cone filter, if that makes any sense
Ah yes you're correct surprisingly this model F car didn't have their usual sound tube but a dual stage intake where both intakes open to produce an amazing sound after 3600 rpm and it certainly does sound far superior the competition thanks again!

@@MeynMotorGroup just trying to help you out mate. The sport mode in the F adjusts timing, steering response and the transmission ecu. Don’t get me wrong, I like your videos. It feels like a M3 on a circuit, well because basically that was its main competitor.
They are so damn much right now. My local Audi dealer has a 08' has 114K and they want $31,000 for it. Has an exhaust leak and the belt squeaks. Not to mention curbed wheels, and a bunch of scratches and dents. Interior was amazing though.
Yea the 350 F sport is already an epic car but these F cars really are a masterpiece even this 08 love it. But enjoy your ride man I think its great for street driving

I think everyone forgets that we live in a place that is 45 mph everywhere and cops are littered in every corner. The Starbucks drive thru is not a race track and a race track is not our reality. Even if a race track was a reality, I would rather have a race car for that
@@MeynMotorGroup first off let me say once again great review..I must say though the 2012 to 2013 year models of the isf are way better handling than the previous year models ..I would have love to see and hear your review on the comparison of the years (2008 to 2010) against (2011 to 2013) models ..I just would like you to put to bed the handling improvements of what they did because I know when they made the adjustments the isf did do the same track time as the M3 and if I am not mistaken it was a 2012 model they had used against the m to prove it ..more over I think the isf should have stayed longer on the market..keep up the good work looking forward for your next review
So yes you're right 2010 and up cars def got improved but the unfortunate thing is they are hard to find used or simply over priced to the point where one can just get an RCF which is completely renewed. Always loved this car, but I just had to have 3 pedals. Really wished they would have made a full production run of 1st gen IS with the LS’s 4.3L V8 and six speed manual.

Another genuine ,honest review Lexin, grtz.Allow me to express some thoughts of mine.Imho, some cars is a bit off(and i mean it for EVERY brand),for example,in -our favourite-Lexus,in sedans,i d be satisfied with only 3:GS,LC and LS with their variants. All the other cars are kinda overload to me.As said that stands for every brand. They dont have to make all these cars when you can have all in 2-3,you know what i mean.In my mind, every car has a unique purpose, thus, too many its getting confusing at the end.
The back of the Lexus IS/F always threw the looks off a little for me. I’m a Toyota/Lexus person though. I was gonna get an ‘09 Camry Xle, but ended up getting a purple ‘12 Tsx. I loved my ISF. I now have an RCF and I have to admit that the RCF does everything better on paper but I like the “rawness” of the ISF. Plus I dig the stealth vibe rather than the shouty style of the RCF. Your reviews are great. I’d like for you to make a Lexus “F” special and review compare an ISF, RCF, GSF, LC500, and LFA. I’d pay to see that. 👍🏻
I def know what you mean the new F cars have really been fine tuned but the IS F does feel more raw as you say I was really impressed with the IS F even as an 08 model great ride and I would easily take it even over a new F80 M3. Honored you would want me to make a vid like that my friend, actually Savagegeese has done the exact video you are requesting, he just needs to post the LFA now, but he compared the RCF GSF and LC! Thanks again for stopping by enjoy your new RCF!

Hey wanted your input - I have 2020 is 350 f sport awd right now. It's great and I've owned it since new, but I'm tempted to trade it for something cooler and I'm thinking an isf. Do you think it's worth giving up low mileage and daily drive ability for a higher mileage isf?
Nice! Love that blue color such a gorgeous car. Def hang on to that gem it is worth every penny, hell it's more fun to drive than some of these new cars
Hey noice vid. What r ur thoughts about comparison between ur LC 500 vs ISF in terms of driving it. U feel the difference despite engine bein almost similar?
Appreciate that my friend so I did a comparison vic with the LC and RCF and there is def a distinct difference between these F cars and the LC. The chassis is stiffer on the LC and weighs more so it has a substantial luxury feel but also the motor sounds much different. There is a more mechanical sound to the V8 despite being the same motor and the exhaust is far louder in the LC. LC takes the F cars and tunes it to 11 but I do still love these F cars they are a ton of fun and actually the ISF engine sound seems a bit more visceral than the new RCF perhaps it's due to the dual stage intake, not quite on the level of the LC but still sounds awesome. Love these Lexus performance cars you won't be disappointed!
I would buy this car in that exact color if the rcf was never built. It,s more reliable than the e90 m3,_and i love that car aswell. You cannot absolutely cannot go wrong with a lexus, and a few hundred dollars with aftermarket mods will turn it into a monster
4:21 when I saw that car coming as you were merging I was praying you didn’t get hit! It kinda looked like it a little. Anyhow I wish I had an IS-F but instead I just have an IS250. So sad. Lol
Times are hard. Economy is very bad. I am downgrading my ride and am considering between a 2008 IS250 and a 2009 GS300. Which would you choose? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Kevin. Love your videos.
I'm really sorry to hear that my friend, but I actually haven't driven the GS300 and Idk what car you're coming from but IS250 is pretty slow and is direct injected so has carbon build up Honestly a Honda Accord from 08-12 is pretty great but if You want a Lexus might want to get a warranty and maybe go with an ES350
also to correct your transmission issues if you flip the ect switch to "pwr" it becomes a lot more responsive and less sluggish. also for manual mode actually moving the shifter over to "s" makes it respond a lot better for the paddles.
Yes you're right about that only reason why I don't like doing that is because in street driving it just isn't practical to drive like that in everything sport 😅 car just leaves you 2nd gear aggressive as hell lol. But I do like this transmission in regular mode it reacts great def not a negative to this car like other reviewers say
I saw a few videos when savagegeese reviewed the 2010+ IS-F. They recommended those because of a Limited-Slip Differential and a upgraded infotainment. But it is rare to see those on the used market.
They make a grom for the infotainment with brand new apple car play and android auto. You can buy them in the Facebook pages in a group buy for 400. 2020 technology in an 08 more analog car. Best of both worlds.
@@ParissaKhoury plug and play into the back of the oem head unit. it highjacks the auxiliary input for video and audio. Pretty cool how it works. I love mine. Just copy paste "lexus IS grom" on UA-cam. Grom has a channel.
The F stands for the highest Performance Model of a Lexus Vehicle (IS F, GS F, RC F...). F Sport is just a sportier appearance variant like M Package (ES 350 F Sport,IS 350 F Sport...).
F Sports aren't just for looks, in certain cars it's a legitimate difference like IS F Sport RC F Sport and LS 500 F sport. Usually adds variable gear ratio steering and different suspension setup but no engine tuning
I'm sorry Kevin but this car is still sexy as hell as I write ✍️ this in 2022. How in the hell is Lexus able to design their cars in a way that it's difficult to guess their age?
As someone who owns an 08 ISF your totally wrong but the handling lol .. it’s grips the road very well .. but it will make the smoothest road feel like your on a dirt road
Great look but I drove IS250 I’m just 6ft but I found the driver side too small hence I went for GS450H and few months later I replaced with the GS300. I only drive Lexus since 2003.
Lol the reason I own my ISF is for track days at race tracks and it's great 👍 To really understand the F you need Sport + manual mode on a back road. The car only locks up the torque converter in manual mode and it feels like a completely different car.
@@MeynMotorGroup No it's just a weekend car for me. It performs really well for a basically stock car. Only thing letting it down is the diff being a 08 it doesn't have the torsion LSD. Would love to you test drive it again and do a part 2 review brother
I had a 2005 e55 amg, and it was the worst reliable car ever. Stranded, limp home mode, new valves and full engine overhaul. Mercedes took it back under lemon law before warranty went out. My isf has never stranded me and at 120k that’s 3 times the reliability of the e55. Also look at the price of an e55 with 100k on it, compare to the price of an ISF with 100k. There’s a reason the isfs go for up to 30k with over 100k miles. And the e55s go for under 15k.

I’m looking to get one! Thank you Kevin!!!
still a beast! 🤙🏽
Def a V8 singing beast for sure
@@MeynMotorGroup but probably for you these don’t excite you like they used to, since you daily the LC, now that’s a Car! 🤤
Nah I still have a ton of respect for this car and was super enjoyable, actually I loved the IS 350 F Sport and RC 350 F sport I believe they are very rewarding street cars and fun to wring out on the road! LC is nice tho 😆
@@MeynMotorGroup I hear ya, I love anything Lexus 🤙🏽
I love this car to death can’t wait to own one. A definite sleeper.
You will love it!
They need to make another ISF!!!
I think they will with the new generation
@@MeynMotorGroup I’d be disappointed if they didn’t because the regular IS is slacking in terms of power compared to the Europeans. Also I love your vids n keep creating content! Started watching you a few months back after I got a 2014 ES350
Appreciate it my friend massive congrats on that beautiful ES highly recommended ride enjoy it
I’ve been researching an IsF for the last year after buying an Is300 5 Spd as a daily, and this one you reviewed was on my radar, the only thing that bothered me was the differences in car report histories
Yea the car is super clean and drives great but had 5 owners i was shocked to hear it had that many
Ah. The IS F is one fine machine.
For sure!
@@MeynMotorGroup I know it would probably be too small for me but I'd sure would want to drive one haha.
A little cramped yea 😆 but worth getting in to drive and its comfortable
So... IS F handling feeling vs your LC500, what feels better in terms of road holding, body roll etc in your opinion?
LC is stiffest chassis lexus has ever produced vs this generation IS which is one of the softest chassis that they ever produced...leads to a pretty big difference this is a first Generation car the RC F and GS F take this to another level
Your review was very thorough and interesting
2012 ISF owner here. Great review as always. The transmission isn’t the best and a bit slow. I’ve taken it to the track and it is capable but still slower than my e46m3 track car.
Nice that's a good year of the IS F you got there and yea I dont require it to be great on track, its super fun on the street glad you have your own dedicated track car tho
Lexus IS a luxury and relax car
Been watching a lot of your reviews now man keep up the great work it’s nice to see all these car journalist on UA-cam cause you guys have your unique styles for your reviews and ofc all have personal opinions and it’s nice to see and also I really like what you’re doing with the LS460 🙌🏽
I appreciate that my friend thank you
Excellent review, my test drive was great and as you describe, suits me, Im buying it.
It truly is a great car my friend congrats let me know when you get it
I was wondering when you were gonna review the isf, great job, also there is no sound tube by the way what you're hearing is all natural
I want a 2011+ so bad. They’re really hard to come by on the used market where I’m from. Been looking everyday for the last year with no luck. Would look good with my LS430 😛
Oh yea 2010 and up is impossible to find but when you do, I would def get it great car
2010 is my fav wheels
Mate you need to rerun this in manual sport mode, basically you’ve just ran it in street mode.
Sport mode = waste twice the fuel while being in a lower gear
@@MeynMotorGroup just trying to help you out mate. The sport mode in the F adjusts timing, steering response and the transmission ecu.
Don’t get me wrong, I like your videos. But you should put it in sport manual and run it on a track, it is an absolute blast on a nice open track where it can really sing out. It feels like a M3 on a circuit, well because basically that was its main competitor.
@@Howiefied yes the car shifts much faster in manual modes it’s almost as fast as dual clutch over 4k
Aluminium Fibre.... have dark grey 2008, for over a year now, its truly a sleeper car, hardly anyone knows about ISFs.
I LOVE THESE!!!! I want to own one so bad! Hope to find one soon :)
You will def get one!
They are so damn much right now. My local Audi dealer has a 08' has 114K and they want $31,000 for it. Has an exhaust leak and the belt squeaks. Not to mention curbed wheels, and a bunch of scratches and dents. Interior was amazing though.
Love it!
Thanks!
Great review,.. Love the ISF, i would love to drive it.. and this one is in amazing condition..
It really was I was so impressed! And it had 5 owners!
@@MeynMotorGroup wow. 5 owners ! That’s incredible. I would bet any amount of money it was a one owner
Enjoyed it as usual bro thanx 😎👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Appreciate you watching brother!
Exhaust Sports Auto 👍🏾👍🏾
Oh . I want one . Beautiful ride
I love my IS350 F Sport but would love to drive this beauty some day... there's not many where I live tho
Yea the 350 F sport is already an epic car but these F cars really are a masterpiece even this 08 love it. But enjoy your ride man I think its great for street driving
I have to point out, the wheels are on back wards. spokes should be facing the other way. each wheel is specific to each corner of the car as per indication engraved inside every wheel.
Not a difficult thing to fix
Do the review again and put it in sport manual mode. 😭🤦🏻♂️😂
I should drive in Sport Plus everything through a drive thru and waste twice as much fuel while the car stays in second gear all the time
I guess V8 sport mode is the difference compare to the low shifting auto trans
I hate driving in sport on the street such a waste
@@MeynMotorGroup How is it a waste ? It's where the car comes alive and the fun comes out. Otherwise the car keeps it above 5th gear all the time for the best MPG and efficiency.
I think everyone forgets that we live in a place that is 45 mph everywhere and cops are littered in every corner. The Starbucks drive thru is not a race track and a race track is not our reality. Even if a race track was a reality, I would rather have a race car for that
These cars are masterpieces I will own one
Def my friend this is worth getting in great condition
But if I'm honest, I loved this 08 and was super impressed with how it drove I would take this 08 ISF over a new F80 M3
@@MeynMotorGroup you’re so right about the price on the 2010 to 2013 models...and yes the 08 model is a great catch ..I honestly think Lexus should have continued making this car
I think they will be making a new IS F with the new model that just came out. But it will most likely use the TT V6 found in the LS500. But we shall see. Yea this 08 with this V8 such a gem and so satisfying to drive
Always loved this car, but I just had to have 3 pedals. Really wished they would have made a full production run of 1st gen IS with the LS’s 4.3L V8 and six speed manual.
Yea they def threw the manual away a long time ago lol 😆 nobody buys manuals unfortunately
@@MeynMotorGroup I bought an IS300 manual, Fiesta ST manual, and currently have a 2017 Chevy SS manual.
3 pedals or bust for me!!
Oh a Chevy SS that must be fun such a rare ride
@@MeynMotorGroup no replacement for displacement.
Been looking for one of these. Currently own an LS430 and thinking I might trade it for a sportier Lexus with a bigger V8. I love the LS and I’m sure it’s actually a better car in many ways. But the IS F is starting to creep into my head. Thanks for the review.
I know what you mean those few cars accomplish a lot for sure! Appreciate it my friend!
The back of the Lexus IS/F always threw the looks off a little for me. I’m a Toyota/Lexus person though. I was gonna get an ‘09 Camry Xle, but ended up getting a purple ‘12 Tsx. Would trade in for a competing Toyota product though, but the Tsx is sexy to me. So hard. Lol. Toyota is where it’s at though.
Oh yea that generation TSX looks amazing I had a 2010 Silver TSX loved it
@@MeynMotorGroup Yeah it’s great. I’m always looking forward to driving it everyday. & I saw yours. I wouldn’t have known about the Auto Unlock windows down feature & the passenger side view mirror that’s basically a back up cam for me cuz I don’t have the tech package. Lol. But well put together vids man. 👍🏾
There is no Acura sedan I can ever compare to the ISF lexus is in a whole league from Acura
@@Toyota4Life That’s why I said Toyota product. Lol. Avalons are great as well.
@MELLOW Sounds like hate to me fool. It doesn’t look good. Shit throws it off. Some ppl don’t have an eye for nice things & some people always try to disagree with other people just cuz they’re jealous of them. You probably seen that I was black & you got mad cuz I’m a God & I can create every other race using my dna & monkey dna.
Love it. Makes me want to get a Lexus with a V8. The GS F V8 might be easier to find
Haha yea but very expensive tho like 50-60k but if you find any of these F cars you will love them they are epic
This car I still think is stunning! I honestly wish I had one💗💗
Yea I agree timeless design and timeless motor nice little car

@@MeynMotorGroup I fully understand. Rush is not what I ask of.
I live in Durham, and I think that I might’ve passed by you on the highway during this vid lol. I have a 2012 IS 350☺️
Oh wow that's awesome yea this IS F didn't have a license plate on it idk if you remember or noticed that lol 😆 but that's really cool
@@MeynMotorGroup Yep, that was you then lol. Anyway great vid! I have an IS 350, but I got to drive an ISF while I was deployed overseas. I love my 350, but the extra punch of the ISF is awesome!!
Haha love it man that is so cool and yea IS 350 is literally the perfect amount of power for the streets you can drive foot to the floor all the time but for sure this V8 is a gem. Appreciate it my friend thank you so much for stopping by!
Have you ever driven a SC430? If so, what did you think? I’m not looking for a sports car - more of a fun grand tourer.
Question out of a 2008 isf and a 2014 gs 350f which one would you recommend?
That price was perfect. You won't find that anymore
Hey wanted your input - I have 2020 is 350 f sport awd right now. It's great and I've owned it since new, but I'm tempted to trade it for something cooler and I'm thinking an isf. Do you think it's worth giving up low mileage and daily drive ability for a higher mileage isf?
No def not
Best V8 Toyota's has made trust me I own one ultrasonic blue my baby.
Nice! Love that blue color such a gorgeous car. Def hang on to that gem it is worth every penny, hell it's more fun to drive than some of these new cars
Yes it’s a great engine, then Yamaha got their hands in on it, and tuned it to be peakier with better high end torque.
Hi,
I’m looking for a Lexus is f 08,150k
6 pre owners
The dealer is asking 20k for it!
What do you think?
its hard to not like the way a Toyota/Lexus ages. the quality is unmatched by their competitors.
Quality is perfect every time
I would buy this car in that exact color if the rcf was never built.
So sad. Lol
Is this car faster than a 07 335i?
Good point you make about the 50k miles Rolls....
It's a beautiful car. I've been trying to find the F Sport in 13 and I can't find it anywhere
For the price of a 2013 IS F, I would def try to look into the RC F as well since the prices are closer that most would think
Times are hard. Economy is very bad. I am downgrading my ride and am considering between a 2008 IS250 and a 2009 GS300. Which would you choose? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Kevin. Love your videos.
I'm really sorry to hear that my friend, but I actually haven't driven the GS300 and Idk what car you're coming from but IS250 is pretty slow and is direct injected so has carbon build up
Honestly a Honda Accord from 08-12 is pretty great but if You want a Lexus might want to get a warranty and maybe go with an ES350
@@MeynMotorGroup thanks for taking your time to reply. I am still doing OK for now actually but preparing for the worst.
@@MeynMotorGroup again keep up the good work! Lexus fans like me are enjoying your work!
That's good but I do agree I think next year is going to be pretty bad probably best to stockpile cash now
There is no 2009 GS300 (at least in the US) just the 350, 460 and 450h. The GS350 is definitely a much better car than the IS250
also to correct your transmission issues if you flip the ect switch to "pwr" it becomes a lot more responsive and less sluggish. also for manual mode actually moving the shifter over to "s" makes it respond a lot better for the paddles.
"PWR" is on the IS250/350, as is the "S" shift mode. On the IS F, it's "Sport" and "M" respectively.
I saw a few videos when savagegeese reviewed the 2010+ IS-F. They recommended those because of a Limited-Slip Differential and a upgraded infotainment. But it is rare to see those on the used market.
Correct everyone wants 2010 and up but what to do they never show up on the market
Does ISF stand for IS F sport or something else? IF it does means F sport which model is it the 250 or 350? And those exhaust tips looks crazy LOL
Lol F means Flagship or Fuji Speedway
The F stands for the highest Performance Model of a Lexus Vehicle (IS F, GS F, RC F...). F Sport is just a sportier appearance variant like M Package (ES 350 F Sport,IS 350 F Sport...).
F Sports aren't just for looks, in certain cars it's a legitimate difference like IS F Sport RC F Sport and LS 500 F sport.
Usually adds variable gear ratio steering and different suspension setup but no engine tuning
@@Adem9458 Thanks
@@MeynMotorGroup Thank you Kevin
I'm sorry Kevin but this car is still sexy as hell as I write ✍️ this in 2022. How in the hell is Lexus able to design their cars in a way that it's difficult to guess their age?
As someone who owns an 08 ISF your totally wrong but the handling lol .. it’s grips the road very well .. but it will make the smoothest road feel like your on a dirt road
Do you recommend buying a high milage ISF?
TIMELESS design
I have a Supreme condition 2011 isf.. If u want to test with factory upgrades that year
Great look but I drove IS250 I’m just 6ft but I found the driver side too small hence I went for GS450H and few months later I replaced with the GS300. The IS series is my least favourite.i I have driven many Lexus GS,x3 RX300 x2 RX450H. I test drive ES300 and IS300 on 21 plates. Lexus for me is about comfort and reliability period. I only drive Lexus since 2003.
Cool car bro.
For sure!
$22,000???? That price is no longer true for this mileage ISF 😢
Should have driven it on sports mode. Turns the car to a different beast.
Nah all it would do is put me In a lower gear sport mode is a waste in 99.9% of cars
Lol the reason I own my ISF is for track days at race tracks and it's great 👍 To really understand the F you need Sport + manual mode on a back road. The car only locks up the torque converter in manual mode and it feels like a completely different car.
Nice! How do you like your IS F on track? Do you also daily it?
@@MeynMotorGroup No it's just a weekend car for me. It performs really well for a basically stock car. Only thing letting it down is the diff being a 08 it doesn't have the torsion LSD. Throttle blips on down shift and 6 pot Brembo brakes are awesome. I'm looking forward to trying it out with some decent width semi slicks on track instead of the skinny factory road tyres
Yea 2010s and up got the diff but those cars are impossible to find or overpriced so I don't think you can go wrong with 08-09 for the price. I love the F cars for that gem of a V8 and amazing ride. Enjoy it!
Omfg you don’t know shit about how capable the ISF is on the track
Apparently Jeremy Clarkson does
i have a 2011 IS 350 F-Sport and its a good handling quick responding car
Yea F sport def makes a difference with these cars and 350 motor is amazing as well!
About to add this same yr/model to my driveway. Fell in love with the v8 in my SC. Can't wait to park my ES350 and daily the isF
It's such a badass car, I can't wait🤘🏻
Never take this to a track???
It's not the exact same chasis.
You have been doing good reviews but I think you have failed on this one brother
Why do you say that
@@MeynMotorGroup you already knew there are 2 personalities in the isf as it was built to be that way.
The way you test drove it were only the boring side of it and yes it is slow and smooth.
The manual mode is the only way to keep it at the high rmp and it is the opposite of boring. We are not sure if you tried that in sport mode. Would love to you test drive it again and do a part 2 review brother
Yea I love that that's why I love the car I honestly want one myself to be honest I'm shocked how good this 08 is
I think Ive seen this isf on cars gurus before lol
Probably there's not many out there and this one's sold now too 😆
Looks like it already sold.
Oh yea been sold lol this car was nice and clean drove perfect too loved it
Is smooth brake it won’t let you run fast is lexus thing
Was between this and a 2006 E55 AMG. Went with the AMG 😛
There are simple mods for these cars that would get it up to 500hp!!!
👍 Mr Lexus
Yes sir!
Great review. Loved my 08. A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Thanks! Yea such a great car not only for the time but today as well
