This is literally the most helpful tutorial on youtube for creating ads and I'm not even 5 minutes in. I love the way you actually break down and completely explain every single thing as if to speak to the beginner. Every video I have found has either promoted their course, or presumed that the viewer already knows what they are talking about. Thank you for your help, great video!
So I set up a campaign on FB like this: posted a UA-cam music video on my FB artist channel and then boosted that post with ads. Conversion is on link clicks. I am seeing plenty of link clicks but when I compare that data to my UA-cam video views (specifically that video), it seems like no views are registered. What am I doing wrong?
Well, what you're optimizing for is link clicks. not for video views... Since youtube is a third party (and you don't own it) you can't track how many people actually watched. I would suggest keeping your video ON Facebook and using video views objective if you want people to actually watch the video. What you optimize for, you get! Don't expect video views form a link clicks campaign.
@@VertexMarketingAgency I appreciate your reply, that's great to know! That said, I am still somewhat confused. If the ad has only one link to click (UA-cam video), how come doesn't a click event mean exactly that? If someone clicked on the link/video then most of those clicks should also translate to real video views which would show up on my UA-cam analytics, at least to my logic.
@@RobVice well, what counts as a view on UA-cam? Each time a viewer intentionally initiates the playing of a video on their device and watches for at least 30 seconds that counts as a view. So, if the person who clicks your ad doesnt watch AT LEAST 30 seconds, then you will get no views. Hence, lots of clicks and no views :)
Pure Gold - I have watched countless videos and spent so much money on courses and NO ONE cuts to the chase like you do. You just tell us what we need to know without making it seem overly complex. Plus you eliminate waffling on about nothing in order to boost watch time. I have binged watched all your videos and have learned so much from you guys. I followed this video to the letter and can't wait to give you some feedback. I also came across Billo and signed up to use them. A brilliant app - so easy to use, has great content creators, and real value for money. Thanks so much for sharing, I REALLY appreciate everything you do.
I am now building my ad as I'm watching this again. At minute 19:45, where you show the Advantage+ Creative, my screen shows "Multi-advertiser Ads". I am wondering if this is a change since August when you made this video?
Those are 2 different things. I would still turn on multi-advertiser ads. But, the new advantage+ creative would be the same thing as turning on "Optimize Creative For Each Person"
Thank you for the tutorial. I am using CBO, I had 1 ad performing well so I duplicated it and added a new creative (adset now has 2 ads). As a result of this the new ad/creative now has lots of spend going to it and my original performing ad is now converting 50% less. As there is no way setting ad spending limits (for example giving 50% of adset budget to each ad, have you tried/recommend duplicating the adset and having 1x ad in each adset instead of 2x ads in 1x adset? This way you could really test in a equal way…
Thanks Sydney! The tutorial is so informative! I tried to follow along to create in my account, however, seems conversion option in ad set level has been removed ?
I'll tell you why I REALLY enjoyed this instructional video and subscribed! You don't talk so freakin' fast I can't understand you, or click around so fast I can't follow you. You explain well the choices you have made, screen by screen. And although there is some different advice than I've seen elsewhere, you say WHY you made those decisions. Thanks so much, I'm going to watch the Pixel creation vid now! Thank you so much!
Hi! I have a website that offers beauty appointments in only a few cities right now. You talk about a broad audience, but in this case, do you think I should specify the cities offered on my website instead of all of the US? I eventually will want to expand it to the whole country but for now I am trying to get people in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin. Any help appreciated! Thanks
Yes, you should use a mile radius around the beauty locations in this case!! Choose as large of a mile radius as possible to keep it broad. I use a chrome extension called "joypixels" or you can just google a star emoji!
Thanks, wonderful video! Do you have a vid that teaches us how to protect our accounts (by backup accounts) should one be banned by Facebook? Seeing others talk about 2 business managers, 2 ad accounts, 2 FB profiles but no one really demonstrates how to set this up.
Hi, thanks for the great video it really helps me. I have a quick question. Under Tracking, I found that for the last two weeks the box (website events that is synced to pixel) was not ticked which I couldn't get any conversions data. Do you know if any chance I can get data on ads manager or Meta?
Super clear tutorial. Question: what is my objective if all we want is a click on the landing page. For us, a conversion is simply clicking on submit in a form that requests a meeting. Now, that action is more than just Web Traffic, but less than an actual Sale. Where does our real life objective match with the Facebook ad Objective?
Hey. You're still looking for a conversion here (granded not a purchase conversion but a conversion non the less). Basically a lead gen. You should create a custom conversion in your ads manager for tracking this click (you can do this using the facebook events setup tool on the facebook pixel helper chrome extension) Then optimise for conversions and select your custom conversion. Running a landing page view campaign will get you just that. Landing page views. You want people to take an action so select conversion campaigns.
Thanks for a great video. Is it necessary to configure the things you mention at the beginning, before starting anything else. I had a business before and am having problems configuring to this. Setting up the Facebook pixel set up on server side and browser. When I try to set up agravated event management, on configure web events it says upgrade to Business account. I do this and it says I'm at the maximum number I can have. When I go to create a Facebook link to my business manager I click on Business Settings and it sends me back to the beginning first page. Then I have to click back into campaign page. Business manager and Facebook are very hard to contact. I would love to get a chat going and be talked through how to configure these things.
Is it a personal or business ad account? Make sure it's a business ad account. Is the ad account owned by a business manager already? The other businesses you have on Facebook.. Are they still active? If not maybe you could just use an old business manager and change the name?
