- Premiering this August on NBC, The Carmichael Show puts a spotlight on family matters with stand-up comic Jerrod Carmichael (Neighbors). Loosely based on his own life, Jerrod stars as a young man looking to move in with his girlfriend and strike out on his own-if only his hilariously opinionated family would get out of his way. Great show. Great writing.
I just watched the show for the 1st time, and this trailer would make you think it's about an Angry Black Father, who eats ribs all day....I get his AOL beef, because most of these scenes were re-cut, out of context.
Tough crowd.
Since when was NBC a network known for not respecting audiences ? they still have the best comedies ..CBS maybe ..
I agreed, I was bothered by that
Y'know
well i usually am blunt but Jerrod is a different degree of transparency
Him saying the trailer is BAD is kinda like getting that someone at AOL who compiled the trailer in trouble/ hot water-i think-but I always admire a transparent people!
watched the entire Season 1 of the Carmichael show-it was funny-including the 1st episode where he is dancing to Taylor Swift's song You belong to me-that was actually what got me into the show!! its funny seeing a dude dance to soft songs like Taylor Swift songs-koz im sure many dudes dig that BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
well that looks really awkward
y'know
What's that sound? Oh, it's the sound of a 1 season flop. Nice.
It got renewed for a second season with 84% on rotten tomatoes.. So not a flop i think
He needs to learn powerless communication tactics to appear more vulnerable. An African American with this level of intellect can be disturbing to some.
Best young comedian in the world for me based on his special 8. Im not black. But that special was so deep, and communicated (amongst other things) a really nuanced view of the positon of black people in america that it moved me so much. Its very funny, kinda dark and strangely compelling.
