I actually like Blackish better in its execution...I think the Carmichael Show would have done better without a laugh track/studio audience given his comedy is more cynical and self-aware. The classic sitcom format prompts the audience to laugh, and in the Carmichael Show's case, it causes the audience to miss the subtle comedy gold in between. The rhythm of the old sitcom format outpaced the comedy. Think about how much comedy you would've missed on The Office if it was a live audience show.

Like it gave you that old school black family sitcom but with a burst of new age energy, talking politics in the household and being brutally honest with your family is the best type time. Me and my family watched each episode and it led to a family dialogue that was unexpected. I can't wait to go hard into Rel's show, I bet its going to be just as great.

As much as I would like more of The Carmichael Show, I'm satisfied with what they did in three seasons. It wrapped up nicely by the end. I don't even watch TV like that unless it's The Walking Dead, but when season 3 aired...I rushed my ass home after work to watch every episode I could!!! It's hands down the best sitcom of this decade :D

Carmichael's brand of nuanced comedy is highly underrated. It's a Seinfeld-esque quality.
