OMG what amazing and powerful movie of Elvis. I died watching the actor move like Elvis. Saddle shoes should come back in Fashion. My 14 yr old loved this movie as well!!!!OMG
I have been an Elvis fan since I was ten years old in 1956. For sure he was influenced by black music but often left unsaid is that he also was greatly influenced by country music. He also was a fan of singers like Mario Lanza and Dean Martin. When he got out of the service his singing was vastly improved. He liked a challenge in his singing with songs like "It's Now Or Never" and other vocally demanding songs no other rock singer could do. This guy could sing rock better than anyone but could also kill a ballad, and even Broadway songs like "The Impossible Dream." Often he is criticized for "selling out" by not sticking to rock. That is a silly gripe. He loved to sing and stretch his voice. That clip of him not long before he died singing " Unchained Melody" seated at a piano (which is in the movie) is heart wrenching but showed despite all he still could muster his great voice. He will never be surpassed.
@ Gary beauchamp Agree 100 percent. Elvis will never be surpassed .He is the only artist who have sold a billion plus records. The Aloha from Hawaii 73 concert is watched by 1.6 billion people is still the highest watched concert in music history. His funeral is the 2nd highest in USA history only just behind JFK's ,not bad for a poor boy from Tupelo On the day Elvis died Every Florist in every state of USA sold out of flowers. Every year since his death apart from 2020 due to covid fans from all over the world have traveled to Graceland to pay respects to the man they love. No other entertainer is still loved and missed 45 years after their death the way Elvis is nor ever will be. Elvis will never ever will be beaten by anyone .

I could watch it over and over and not get tired of it. 💖 I absolutely love Elvis and love Austin for doing such a phenomenal job!!!💖
Elvis would have made it without the evil manager.Maybe he would have still been alive too. What a crime. How did someone not make him aware of this corruption and destruction he was being exposed to.Very Sad.
@@lyndadelport8322 Without Col. Parker, Dr. Nick, uppers, downers, pain killers and peanut butter (which constipates), and a ravenous appetite, Elvis would still be here and healthy. Just my opinion, but I've had food problems for decades, none of the rest of the stuff which his lifestyle consisted of, but I've lived 70 years now and learned a lot about how certain foods affect me (and apparently Elvis too).
I will be honest with everybody on here I loved it I laughed and I cried and I saw it on a beautiful Friday afternoon baz luhrmann definitely captured the whole story of Elvis Presley so accurately he is now one of my favorite directors I'm also very happy with the fact that Priscilla Presley came to that premiere but I also am happy to see that Lisa Marie and hopefully Riley was there to see the wonderful performance and the reenactment of this great man who is not dead but just went home

Very good interview s by everyone. Still waiting to see ELVIS. CANT WAIT IOVE HIM SO MUCH & HIS FAMILY. I HAVE FAITH IN AUSTIN. HE LOOKS SO SINCERE. ELVIS RIP 🙏 🕊 ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm only 44, too young to remember Elvis when he was alive (I was born August 4th, 1977 so I guess I can at least say I was alive when Elvis was alive lol) But I discovered Elvis' music as an 8 year old kid when my Grandfather bought a used jukebox for his basement, and it was loaded with old records. Among them were original 1954-58 pressings of Sun and RCA pre-Army Elvis songs (don't get your hopes up - stuck in a 1967 jukebox in an old bar, by 1985 those records had been well played and used so they were not of any monetary value) This was 1985. Michael Jackson and Wham and Journey were what Rock n Roll was all about at that time, and here I am going crazy over 50s music. Kids at school laughed at me. But I became a lifelong Elvis fan and couldn't get enough of him. It's one thing for older generations who grew up with Elvis to go around saying "today's music can't compare to Elvis", but as a gen-x'er I honestly believe that to be true. There was never anyone like him and will never be. He was he greatest.
Wow! That story you shared is not far removed from being my story. I was born Jan 27, 1975 so I was almost 3 yrs old when he passed away. Believe it or not that is one of the first memories I have, seeing my family - immediate and extended - almost all of them were upset. There were many tears shed and that affected me greatly, but nearly as great as seeing the constant clips of Elvis being shown on that old console TV set. My Mom only had two Elvis albums: original 1961 mono BLUE HAWAII and the 1973 compilation "A Legendary Performer Vol 1". It wasn't but a few weeks and my Mom got me the 5LP box from Candellite Music "The Elvis Presley Story". Just like you, although I did like all sorts of rock, pop and country music, nothing moved me more than Elvis. That caused me to be made fun of when I was a kid, but I never cared. I knew who I was and what I loved- and I'm the same guy today. However, most of those folks that made fun of me cut that out when I finally got enough nerve to win the talent show myself as a teenager. I've been fortunate to actually be able to make a living (not a great one as of late lol) writing and playing the type of music that I've loved all my life. -JD Myers
Elvis is my love - got to see him close up in the summit in Houston 1976 then a year later the good lord took him home RIP Elvis ❤ his memory lives on!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Elvis bio Austin Buster was great since I've been an Elvis fan since I was 11 I wasn't expecting any surprises in the movie it did confirm my feelings All Through The Years about Elvis's and Turner Parker's relationship but as it was coming to an end I started tearing up and I didn't know why and then when Elvis himself came on singing Unchained Melody I started crying and my heart was thumping and I had to put my jacket over my face cuz I didn't want other people to see me crying and I look two seats down and my granddaughter who's not a great Elvis fan just knows who else was she was crying my 13 year old great grandson his favorite song is Suspicious Minds so that's all he really wanted to see but he liked the movie but he doesn't all this younger generation really doesn't know all of it from that movie and I didn't know that Elvis and The Colonel had come to such an abrupt ending in their career because they said Elvis was loyal to the colonel and he fired him before and hired him back but that made it look like it was a final goodbye and then as it ended up for Elvis it was a goodbye I loved it would watch it 100 times again AKA Elvis Junkie
If Lisa's son Benjamin was still around, he would have loved this movie!!!! And so would Elvis himself!!!! Gladly they are watching down from heaven and smiling 😊
BAZ LURHMANN was the perfect choice for Director he DEFINATLEY did it his way to perfection! AN AMAZING OUTSTANDING BRILLIANT MOVIE! Austin was the best choice for PORTRAYING ELVIS! HE EMBODIED ELVIS PERFECTLY 💙🙏 OSCAR'S GALLORE FOR ELVIS THE MOVIE IS SENSATIONAL BRILLIANT AWESOME ARTISTIC FANTASTIC
Oh, no ! I must disagree with Tom Hanks. Without "Col" Tom Parker, there would have been Elvis. Who could have kept him down as a raw teenager or 20-something ? The kids would have noticed Elvis - with or without the Colonel.
Anyone that has worked in the music business knows that Elvis didn't get to that level in spite of Parker but honestly because of his shrewd deals combined with Elvis' talent. Talent alone does not achieve that kind of success. If it did then we would see far more talented people be the ones with all of the record deals. There are a LOT of factors and Elvis had every gift one needed on top of having the right team around him initially.
For all the negative people having something negative to say about this movie? Well guess what the Presley family gave it a go and said it was good that's enough for me 💕🥰💕🥰💕🥰
You've gave everybody credit for Elvis talent but Elvis....as a fan from the beginning of his career ..I do not understand any of you...I don't think you can teach talent ... Charisma or being kind and I also heard someone say there would be no Elvis without colonel Parker..that's just absurd
I saw the film last week I think what people are forgetting is that the film portrayed a small part of Elvis's life and Elvis's life is just so huge it would be impossible to get it all in one film. It wasn't saying Elvis was miserable at all. The Film was mainly about Elvis's relationship with Tom Parker. It would be impossible to get everone Elvis had a relationship with in one 2 and a half hour film. The one left out didnt need to be in it and the ones that were needed to be end of. Austin and Baz should get Oscars for what they did.
When I listen to Riley speak it's really kind of strange. It's not like she addresses him as her Grandfather at all. Course I realize that she never got the chance to meet him. And so there's a loss there. Just like that her younger brother Benjamin committing suicide for reasons none no one will ever know as well. All's I can say is that Elvis would've adored her just as he adored Lisa Marie. I pray God will be with her as well as her family. Elvis might be a stranger to her. But he's no stranger to us. May the Presley live long and prosper.
THERE WAS NO ELVIS WITHOUT COL PARKER.THEIR WAS NO AUSTIN WITHOUT BAZ. Baz is a good guy and Austin has so much charisma. He is totally dreamy and I am 67. Let the hormones roll Baby. I AM A FAN OF Austin. Can't wait to see his next project.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 50% incorrect, which would be 50% correct as well. Colonel was a promoter who managed Elvis. He was a great promoter and a lousy manager, never providing business planning, such as investments, and ways of making his money make money and protecting money. He didn't provide any services in the way of tax planning and preparation as Elvis donated a lot of money that was never counted against taxes. One year in the 60's Elvis was the largest single individual tax payer in the USA. Colonel did both jobs as promoter and Manager which ultimately was a big reason that got him in trouble, when a judge voided all contracts between Colonel and EPE in 1981 because when in the act of doing contracts Colonel was serving two purposes in the transaction. It's illegal to act in that way in most states. Also, the theory that there would have been no Elvis without Colonel is absolutely ridiculous. Elvis was on the verge of blowing up when Colonel saw what he was doing to crowds and signed him up. He got lucky. If Colonel made Elvis, why didn't he make one years before. More important, when Elvis died why didn't he just create another since he was the reason, instead of fading away into nothingness. Why? Because he won the lottery when Elvis signed with him. I would argue, that after 1960-61, that Colonel did way more to hurt Elvis' career than to help it. Would love to go into tiny detail by detail with anyone who would care to disagree.

Maybe I'll feel differently about it then!
This movie is about America, through the life of Elvis. The story told by Colonel “ Jude’s “ Parker . Think of it that way. For myself it was a brilliant take on the life of Elvis Presley.
She wasn’t pertains to the movie. Movie is about America, through Elvis’s life through Parkers eyes. Go see the movie then you’ll understand. I did and it was beyond excellent and focused on the meaning full parts of Presley’s life and how Presley was literally held down by just everyone around him.
@@bobbiel9663 So you felt it wasn’t a complete biopic ? No it wasn’t that for sure. For me it hit all of Presley’s unanswered questions and straighten out quite a few lies and misrepresentation of him that came with Public Enemies 1980’s slanderous rap song ( also Ceelo Greene ) of the man which began an unfounded witch hunt and massive hatred from young people not knowing the truth behind the man. It gave Elvis justice and his legacy back.
Elvis was funny , Elvis was a natural giver , he loved animals , children , and of course woman. This movie did not show any of this. Elvis was so much more than a handsome face and a great voice. To bad they did not show this in the new movie. New Generation of kids will not know that part of Elvis from this movie,
The Colonel loved children, and animals, had a good sense of humor, also donated thousand's (anonymously) to charities. Parker knew everything good, and bad about Elvis, and the Memphis Mafia, but refused to write a book, because he said the publisher's wanted dirt!
It was great movie but really implied that Priscilla and Elvis had a great marriage and that she did not know he was taken drugs until the end of the marriage; she partake with him in earlier years. Elvis was so insulated in his own world; he was taken advantaged from everyone including family members and friends. His destiny was too be a shooting star; I wondered what would have happened if his mother had not died.
I just wish Tom Hanks would stop saying without the Colonel be no Elvis, Dude Elvis would of made it without him, No Elvis no colonel thats more like it .
There is a moment when thee actress playing Priscilla is leaving the Limo at the end of the movie and her profile truly looks like Pricilla. There was CGI of Austin on Elvis real footage too. It would be incredible to have them cgi Elvis on Butler's body for the whole 4 hour cut.
Makes you really wonder if Elvis' spirit reached out to Austin.

Agree 100 percent.
Elvis will never be surpassed .He is the only
artist who have sold a billion plus records. The Aloha from Hawaii 73 concert is watched by
1.6 billion people is still the highest watched concert in music history.
His funeral is the 2nd highest in USA history only just behind JFK's ,not bad for a poor boy from Tupelo
On the day Elvis died Every
Florist in every state of USA sold out of flowers.
Every year since his death apart from 2020 due to covid fans from all over the world have traveled to
Graceland to pay respects
to the man they love.
No other entertainer
is still loved and missed
45 years after their death the way Elvis is nor ever will be. Elvis will never ever will be beaten by anyone .
His favorite music was Gospel. His favorite singer was Jake Hess. Lead singer for the Statesman Quartet. You are a fan since 1956? I don’t think so.
Forever Elvis performance and his giving nature
Loved the movie!!! I really felt for the first time that I GOT Elvis. Aaron Butler was phenomenal playing Elvis.
I just got home from seeing the movie. It was fantastic!!! Austin was phenomenal and deserves an Oscar!!!💖 The movie had me in tears. The ending was a wonderful surprise.
What a fantastic film.
Seen it twice, it was even better the second time around.
Austin Butler is astonishing.
Best movie I’ve seen in years
The king the greatest entertainer of history the best the best 🔝👑
I will be honest with everybody on here I loved it I laughed and I cried and I saw it on a beautiful Friday afternoon baz luhrmann definitely captured the whole story of Elvis Presley so accurately he is now one of my favorite directors I'm also very happy with the fact that Priscilla Presley came to that premiere but I also am happy to see that Lisa Marie and hopefully Riley was there to see the wonderful performance and the reenactment of this great man who is not dead but just went home
You never knew the real Elvis. Or you wouldn't promote the Baz BS show. Cilla and the girls only care about the royalties they will receive. Pure hype and false characterization of E. Example. Here is the real first Louisiana Hayride show. October 1954. ua-cam.com/video/bLaPnpjw-pc/v-deo.html
I too just seen it, and I definitely. Want to see it again!! AWESOME!!!
He just went home, lovely.
@@sandeedobberstine5591 you don't know where he went.

Very good interview s by everyone. Still waiting to see ELVIS. CANT WAIT IOVE HIM SO MUCH & HIS FAMILY. I HAVE FAITH IN AUSTIN. HE LOOKS SO SINCERE. ELVIS RIP 🙏 🕊 ❤❤❤❤❤
ONLY YOU FOREVER MORE ELVIS. MY ONE AND ONLY.
🫡 to Austin for his hardwork and bravery to revive Elvis. He doesn’t be like the real Elvis because nobody can replace him as a whole person. 🖖🫡🥰🥰😍😜
I'm only 44, too young to remember Elvis when he was alive (I was born August 4th, 1977 so I guess I can at least say I was alive when Elvis was alive lol)
But I discovered Elvis' music as an 8 year old kid when my Grandfather bought a used jukebox for his basement, and it was loaded with old records. Among them were original 1954-58 pressings of Sun and RCA pre-Army Elvis songs (don't get your hopes up - stuck in a 1967 jukebox in an old bar, by 1985 those records had been well played and used so they were not of any monetary value)
This was 1985.

His a real good actor and a great nice person. great movies. Thank you
Elvis is my love - got to see him close up in the summit in Houston 1976 then a year later the good lord took him home RIP Elvis ❤ his memory lives on!!
Amazing Movie! Sound and looks American! American Story! Filmed in Australia! Loved it! 💕💙💜❣🙏🙏

I am just longing to watch this long awaited Elvis Biopic!
Beautiful lady, great film, tribute.
Great interview!
Austin, Hanks , Baz nailed it, Austin channeled Elvis with his perforamnce..parker used expoited used him till the end
Oh, no ! I must disagree with Tom Hanks. Without "Col" Tom Parker, there would have been Elvis. Who could have kept him down as a raw teenager or 20-something ? The kids would have noticed Elvis - with or without the Colonel.
I agree. Parker needed elvis , not the other way round.
There would be no Elvis without Colonel Parker. Even Elvis knew that.
Iagree with you
It’s a shame Parker lived20 years after our precious Elvis died.

Great movie
Knowing elvis, he isn't convincing. Just let the music stand for itself
Austin butler is the king of rock n roll. And me too for his wonder of you.it has 13.880 views now on UA-cam.
Elvis Forever ❤
Even though his role was small, I also could not take my eyes of Dacre Montgomery
Elvis was the nuclear bomb of popular culture . The fusion of music .
100% correct
The colonel was Elvis's promoter not his manager.
No Colonel, no Elvis.

But When ELVIS was "EXPOSED" Elvis didn't need the Colonel! Bull5hit. If Parker made Elvis, how come he couldn't make another one?
I saw this movie, and although I loved Austin Butler's performance (he was absolutely amazing!). I didn't care for the way Baz presented the storyline. To me, it was like how a "musical" plays out, Just all over the place! ... I just couldn't get into it. Gonna watch it again when it comes out on a streaming service. Maybe I'll feel differently about it then!
This movie is about America, through the life of Elvis. The story told by Colonel “ Jude’s “ Parker . Think of it that way. For myself it was a brilliant take on the life of Elvis Presley.
He reminds me on that pink suit to lou diamond playing Ritchie Valenz in "La Bamba".
Where is Linda Thompson in this film, the woman who saved him so many times?
They have a 4 hour version they are sitting on...you never know.
She wasn’t pertains to the movie. Movie is about America, through Elvis’s life through Parkers eyes. Go see the movie then you’ll understand. I did and it was beyond excellent and focused on the meaning full parts of Presley’s life and how Presley was literally held down by just everyone around him.
@@ornellabarbaro3861 i saw it
@@bobbiel9663 So you felt it wasn’t a complete biopic ? No it wasn’t that for sure. For me it hit all of Presley’s unanswered questions and straighten out quite a few lies and misrepresentation of him that came with Public Enemies 1980’s slanderous rap song ( also Ceelo Greene ) of the man which began an unfounded witch hunt and massive hatred from young people not knowing the truth behind the man.
It gave Elvis justice and his legacy back.
@@ornellabarbaro3861 Well said. Chuck D is a racist and has a lot to answer for. Mind you, he's irrelevant today, unlike Elvis.
@@seerstone8982 I agree, but the movie was called Elvis.
Let's just say that Tom has the right to be wrong.
Austin Butler was the perfect Elvis, but the more I watch him I can also see a young John Travolta in him, a la Saturday Night Fever and Grease.
Wow Precilla has morphed into The Joker.
