This is a rare movie projector produced by the French company Wamoo toys around 1950. These toys were very popular in Europe, even if i didn't know that brand. This is my very first 8mm projector.
I was surprised and really excited to find 3 films in the pack !
Please watch till the end to see this rare movie projector in action !
By supporting the channel you help me make more of these video and find more amazing items.
I hope you'll enjoy this restoration.

Surely, that machine should bring happy memories to some people today, pure childhood memories!❤😊😊😊
I hope so !! 😉
@@TheFabrikDon't just dream it built it and they will come.
Oh@@TheFabrik
@@hardkoregamer1981is that a call back to field of dreams?

I remember a friend had a similar machine made in the 1960's. We thought it was so cool. Her mom would make popcorn, and we'd pretend we were in a theatre. You brought back a happy memory. Thank you.
That must have been awesome. I wish I had something like that!
@@datey_in_a_1st_taxi me to!
😍
That's not true, cuz they made those shorts in the beginning of the 1920s.
@kalynmiller558 Both toons are from '50. You can check it with a short research on Google.
When I was little we had no electricity but my cousin did and had a similar little projector. I am impressed with your finishing techniques.
Thanks a lot, glad to bring the memories back 😌🙌
How many kids got those and had their friends sleep over to watch cartoons? There was no better fun then that! That's an experience kids now days will ever know. They have to much now days to appreciate the simple things that use to bring us joy.
I was never this much excited to see the end result. You brought back so many childhood memories mate. Thanks a lot for this video.
I'm almost speechless, but not enough to forget saying THANKYOU for this. Brought back a lot of memories. You did a wonderful restore. I said to my wife, while watching you do the restore, "He should digitize the movie footage." And you did.
Hey thank you so much 🙏 Glad you appreciated it 😌🙌
I always find it amazing just how much mechanical engineering went into a lot of these simple children's toys!
Dood, i remmember seen these two episodes on tv... i feel so old now. LOL
Hi, you perform these restorations of old technology using modern materials creating a perfect working item . The result is this old projector will last for years. Thanks for another great video. Cheers, Paul.🎥🎞👍👍🙏
14 minutes & 54 seconds of rustling and brain crackles.. the perfect afternoon nap
Haha I do the same very often ;)
Beautiful object.I'm impressed by how they managed to do complicated things with just bent metal sheets.
The paints you use are incredible, especially the chrome effect!
Thanks a lot Damien, I love that chrome effect ;) I’m not sure Wamoo sold a lot of these projectors… such a thin metal sheet.
Not easy to make it work properly, I broke the films many times, too old probably. Thanks to the editing you don’t see it but I had to restart the projector every time I broke the film frame🤬😅
@@TheFabrik yeah this fims tends to become brittle with time and I see nothing wrong at all with the mechanism.
That's why for preserving old movies, they are scanned frame by frame, not projected.
This projector should work with any 8mm film, the reels are even standard ones!
Beautiful restoration. Just what I needed after a long days work, plus I got to watch cartoons!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot !! Sorry it’s not 4k / 60fps 😅
Since I've been watching restoration videos, this is the first time I've wanted an object so much !!!
Thank you !
You do such a great job at fixing, restoring and many times improving these toys. The wonderful thing is that not only were they saved but they’ll be around for a long time. Thank you!
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it 😌🙏
Wow you did a great job for restoring the projector 📽.
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you !!
Beautiful restoration and I can't believe you got it to work! That's just amazing.
I was afraid I couldn’t make it… So fragile. Thanks a lot !!
I always love the sand blasting part . Makes me sleepy 😂. Gorgeous restoration! 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Reminds me of the other 1950's Disney movie projector you restored awhile back. You always find such unique items. 👍
Another fantastic restoration, very old film reels
Not 4k / 60fps 😅
I saw your last video of the train 🚆 it was a year ago. When are you going to make the next video? Have a great year and every body that sees this comment peace ✌️
My latest train video was 1 month ago. I will do more very soon ;)
Oh Gee! I think I have something similar (Except the one I have has been made for North America or maybe adapted by someone, I'm not sure). It was given to me by one of my deceased uncles as written in his last will two decades ago. The toy projector is still in a cardboard box for many years and I've never been able to make it work. Because it's some kind of family heirloom to me, I never threw it away.
This one says 110 V, which is close enough to US 120 to be interchangeable. Besides, the only thing you'd need to change would be the light bulb.
just found, and binged all of your vids. love this kinda stuff. you do an amazing job!
Merci beaucoup 🙏
Well, well, well. I see that Mr Donald Duck hasn't changed his attitude in the last 74 years. Great video and restoration work.
Magnificent job you did restoring the old movie projector. Great work.
Thanks a lot !! I wasn’t sure I could make it 😛
That's an awesome restoration I hope you make more
Thank you ! Be sure I will 😉
@@TheFabrik Yes by the way are you a boy or a girl?
It would be nice to see those toy films cleaned up & repaired, digitally transferred, restored, & reprinted to new stock.
I agree ;) i broke them several times… Must be restored too
The films are readily available on UA-cam. The first one is called Donald Duck Lion Around.
@@thenflywjaz6917oh thanks for the info ! 😌👍
It must be broken there is no color
@@philiplubduck6107😅👍
Omg, I love both cartoons, especially first one with a pie 😊😊😊
Ahh when Disney was great now it’s just a money hungry bad movie making company. You did an amazing job
No disney always made disney movies like fantasia 1940s and the black caldreun
I mean The Black Cauldron
Really cool copper color and great work of course
Thank you !!! A bit far from the original color tho ;)
@@TheFabrik that doesn't matter keep up with the good work
This is so cool!, I didn't even know this existed, thank you so much for not letting that just be forgotten!
Thank you ! Glad you appreciated it 👍
@@TheFabrik I really like restoration videos, along with old stuff from the 1800's-1900's

omg, i absolutely adore this device. 10 year old me would have been in love with that thing.
I just found my new favorite channel! You have every tool and gadget imaginable! I watched with my jaw dropped. You are a master.🙏❤
Nice job. also, cool toy! those reels are like full episodes. a lot more then on a View Master disc, that's for sure.
Amazing. Very well- restored thing. Hats off
Thank you !! 🙏
I have the same Donald Duck cartoon .. only in color ... on standard 8mm as with this one ... This was an excellent video of the restoration of this children's projector . My late friend would have love to seen this video .. he was an avid Disney 8mm film collector ..
Thank you very much 🙏 I’m looking for more cartoons in color… Glad you appreciated it 👍
Man, this was heart warming ❤❤❤
You're amazing, great that something like that used to be sold😂😂😂
I approve and loved watching. Fine, fine handicraft.
That was a treat to watch those! Thank you!
I am reminded of MASH. Hawkeye got a movie on a similar reel. Him, Trapper, and Col. Blake were in such a hurry to see it that skipped the projecteor and were taking turns watching it on Blakes microscope. It wasnt a Disney picture , IT WAS A DIRTY MOVIE lol
*_never look a full restore video but that was awesome please more never giv up😊_*
Thank you !! More vid to come soon ;)

Stunning restoration!
It's like Im watchin a magician, so amazing 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Woww!!! VERY GOOD! This is the nicest restoration I´ve ever seeen this year! Good Job, man! Thanks.
Thank you very much !!!
If anyone in the US is wondering what the Donald cartoon was called it was called “Lion Around.” And the Pluto one was called “The Sleepwalker.”
Amicalement
Un grand merci ! Ravi de partager 🙌
I keep forgetting there are bulbs that small that need 110V. Love the colour layout too!
Great job! The antique copper powder coat is lovely!
Great job yes, but the colour choice is awful! It just looks rusty again! It looked like it might have been a light blue or green originally and THAT would have looked ‘period’.
Thanks, I tried to find the original color… 🤷♂️
This is a good toy for children. Worthy restoration!)))
Somehow better than bank cameras
The restoration is fantastic! I like the powder coatings you us and I was impressed to see the chrome finish was so bright. I was not sure if the films would work but they have certainly held up after all these years. Thanks for sharing this, it was neat to see this come back to life.
Thank you !! The films were too old. I don’t show it but I broke them several times at the end 😓
😁 This projector is better than 8K, Great job!!!
Awesome work
GREAT JOB ON 1950’S 8MM DISNEY MOVIE PROJECTOR -WAMOO- RESTORATION THE FABRIK 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you !!! 🙌
Woow Great work, But the Movie is also Great black and white ❤.
The resulting film quality is almost as good as the Petterson Gimlin bigfoot footage.
If you were expecting 4k/60fps you must have been disappointed 😅 It was high quality for the Children back in those days 😉Quality is pretty much better in real, and there is no shutter on that projector 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching tho.
@@TheFabrik I subscribed and am looking forward to watching more of your videos. This was fantastic and found myself saying "wow" all throughout. I was actually shocked how good the footage was for being hand cranked.
Fantástico...
Vida Longa E Próspera
These toys were affordable in my country just for very rich people, impossible having one in my hands when child; it’s good to know how it was inside and how it worked
Really good! 👌 And a very cool projector 😊🎥
Excellent, excellent job! Your restoration of projectors are my favorite out of all the videos!
Thank you !! It’s so satisfying to bring these little things to life, and also a great pleasure to share it with you 🙌
That's a really cool projector! The only flaw is that it has no shutter.
It’s a pity there is no shutter 🤷♂️
Bravooooo maestro odlično uradjen posao.Veliki pozdrav od pratioca iz Bosne.
Hey Bosnia !!! Thanks a lot 😌👍
That is so cool the footage of Pluto was from the Pluto short cartoon sleepwalker one Disney cartoon short I grew up watching as a kid

Once again you find the most magical thing to restore! I love the copper!!!
Thank you !!!
That has to be about the crappiest projector ever made. Hardly worthy of your great talent. Having said that, you did a great job on it, and once again made a very enjoyable video. Thank you so much!

Hey Dan thank you very much 🙏 Glad you appreciated it 🙌
Excellent!
Thank you for restoring that, your skills are wonderful.
I recently bought a 1920s Keystone 35mm film projector similar to your 8mm
Thank you !!
Espectacular proyector vintage😍. La restauracion fue genial👍
Nice! I love these proyectors!
"Hi" The Fabrik,
magnifique travail.....bravo
Merci beaucoup !
Fantastico !!!
Complimenti !!!

Wonderful
That’s why another word for a film is a flick. Nicely restored though! In the fifties, just after the Second World War, children must have been exhilarated when they watched these movies.
I can imagine them watching this for the first time 🤩
Awesome job @TheFabrik. Even you make restoration videos, you keep up the good work.
Thank you very much 🙌 Glad you appreciated it 🙏
Very Amazing 👏😋
I take my hat off to that projector machine.
Thats so cool! I love how you take neglected toys that time forgot and make them new again 💯👍
Such a cool little machine.
Excellent work
That would be so cool to have
Amazing restoration dude. Keep it up the good work;
Thank you very much 😌 Glad you appreciated it 🙏
First impression on all the crusty rusty, and I'm thinking.. this is going to be tough. but knowing how well you work. looking forward to the end result,
Its amazing what some sanding and a fresh coat of paint will do to make something nice again
8mm projector short film
Part 2 ?😳
Small short movies
That's romantic😌💕
There is no part 2 😉
Incredible once again.. thank you
Thank you !!! Glad you appreciated it 🙏
What a neat idea. Wonder why they were not still around in the 70’s when I was a kid…?
Sound could have been added by starting a 45 rpm record at the right moment….
There was a Fisher Price "Movie Viewer Theater" from the 70's that I loved as a kid. the films came on cartridges, and you could watch them on the built-in screen, or project on the wall.
Without words how amazing and beautiful this is! This little projector is already one of my favorites. Actually still own some of those double 8 and super 8 animation movies myself, and used to make my own figurine animations using a super 8 camera, well... it seems... now more than a lifetime ago. Absolutely stunning to watch this.
Thank you very much, it’s my very first 8mm projector 🙏
what a wonderful thing,and a lovely restoration you did..well done :)
Thank you very much 🙏
Awesome restoration! A vintage toy saved!
Thank you very much !!!
A very well done job my friend. I found the train I needed and I'm going to buy it so u can fix it. Don't worry I haven't forgot about u my friend. Ur the best always. As soon as I buy it I'll send u the photos. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much 🙌 I’ll be in touch 😌👍
Hey TF
You brought this a long way back,
I really like the colours. Thank you for demonstrating the projector, I understand from other comments the films kept breaking, they are now preserved on your channel. 🙂 Happy weekend and take care of Yourself 😊
UA-cam isn't an archive, sadly. It could disappear at any time.

True.

Thank you so much. In any case that projector will work for a few more years ;)
