@TheFabrik it was most likely a kid's toy. Safety regulations were not paramount 100 years ago. In the 1960's we had Creepy Crawlers and Easy Bake ovens (electricity, hot metals), Science kits with all manner of dangerous chemicals, Lawn Darts... all eventually removed from the market. 🙃
Given the recoil, doubt it would be dangerous. Maybe with a higher charge, a smoother barrel and a better fitting ball to build up pressure. But as is, little Timmy won't do any harm.
Every Thanksgiving Day, I make a list of all the things I am grateful for. Since I discovered your channel, I always add you to the list. Thank you for the joy and peace you bring to my life.
For every rustoration, there is an equal and opposite restoration! What a great job! The test firing was the icing on the cake! That recoil… thank you!
The cannon looks great but I am glad you found the gunpowder residue first! Turning a new rivet and axle was a good idea and the gold paint pen really makes it stand out. Thanks for sharing this and I am always amazed at how nice and new looking everything you restore looks.
I was watching you paint with the gold pen and I thought " I don't know if that will go well" and then the final product made me change my mind. Well done Sir.
It looks like it's new again and you did an excellent job restoring it as well!!!! Nice to see you get it back to be able to shoot the cannon balls again! The gold was a great add I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
I've seen someone do a nickel plate with a welder or something. The solution looked like it was boiling, and some vapor was coming off the electrode. Your approach is far less extreme yet still effective.
What were toy manufacturers thinking! From that time period to today, some toys are being made that are dangerous to children. I do not understand why! Really great job at restoration......to keep on a shelf out of the way of children of all ages!😮

Nothing like a lethal toy 😄. It does look beautiful. Air Rifles (bb guns) were banned in Australia decades ago for the same reasons. I hope you didn't Google "how to make gunpowder". 😊
General Border, gave the order. Major Scott, brought the shot. Captain Bammer, brought the rammer. Sergeant Chowder, brought the powder. Corporal Farrell, brought the barrel. Private Parriage, brought the carriage. But Drummer Hoff, fired it off!
Ah, yes... the 1920's when parents let their kids play with fire, gun powder, explosions, and metal projectiles. What could possibly go wrong? 😄 Nicely done! 👍
Seeing the test fire , I don’t think this was a toy 😅😅 maybe a toy for men 😅👍 great job you did
I guess so ! 😅 Don’t shoot the dog 😡😅

I, as a 53 year old man want it

When it was all done I said to myself "it's not a full restoration until it's test fired". Well done!
Sir you have the hands of a fine surgeon outstanding

Thanks a lot 🙏 Glad you enjoyed 😌🙌
What’s rustoration

This is by far the best restoration video I’ve ever seen 🤯
Fabrik is gonna bombard his neighbours with this thing.
Ha ha I just woke them up 😅
Excellent work on the restoration! Very pleased with getting to see you fire the cannon. Thank you!

Black powder needs for it! Amazing kids toy!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Thank you so much for sharing with us. 😀👏🏻🇮🇪
its crazy to think this was a kids toy
Insane ! 😄
Yeah, I imagine someone's crippled dad, who was in WWI, giving his son this "toy".😮
I can hear a mother saying: “Be careful, you’ll shoot someone’s eye out!”
@@jamessisk8380Boom in the brand new tv 😂
Yeah, unfortunately we block most of mother nature's selection methods nowadays.
Great job, would have been nice to see where the cannon ball hit.
In the wall 😒
@TheFabrik , thank you for the reply. I was wondering how bad the damage was.
@@winnerscreed6767 He didnt shoot a ball. Nothimng hit the wall. Just watch the video and put it in slow motion where he slowed it down.
Hey TF
Great outcome, was nice to see it in action.
Take care 😊
Nice. Especially the real firing. ^^
Nothing less than your usual meticulous restoration, I will always marvel at the minute attention to detail 👏👌

That was cool 😎
That is amazing 🤩
Olá Amigo, visitando e fortalecendo aqui do Brasil, top seu trabalho. 🙂🇧🇷
Sweet!!! Kind of dangerous for a kids toy but you know whatever😂😂😂
Just wow
Nice work 👍👍
Kids had so much fun back then.
Wow, toys were wild back then! 😅
A century ago, 14-year-old boys already knew what to do to make a cannon fire.
That was awesome
I have Canon that i got at flea market all rusted sand blasted then painted it looks great with my long ranger figures.
BEAUTIFUL! And very impressive BOOM at the end! What did it do to the wall 😉?
What were toy manufacturers thinking! From that time period to today, some toys are being made that are dangerous to children. I do not understand why! Really great job at restoration......to keep on a shelf out of the way of children of all ages!😮
Super restauration 😮😮👏👏👍👍
Merci beaucoup 👍
Nice shot 😂
Damn, Toys were manly back then.

I wonder why kids play with foam orange darts these days, maybe to many missed shots. Great job, as always
Great cigarette lighter 😂
Nothing like a lethal toy 😄. It does look beautiful. Air Rifles (bb guns) were banned in Australia decades ago for the same reasons. I hope you didn't Google "how to make gunpowder". 😊
Excellent 🥁👍🏻🇻🇪
With a basket of equipment and a truck full of knowledge on can accomplish great things.
See we had real toys when we were kids
Great restoration! But my question is, who in their right mind thought this was a good idea for a toy? 😱
Comparing this to modern war toys, this is way better.
I agree ! 😅
Modern war toys? Didn't even know those existed what with all the censorship going on
General Border, gave the order.
Major Scott, brought the shot.
Captain Bammer, brought the rammer.
Sergeant Chowder, brought the powder.
Corporal Farrell, brought the barrel.
Private Parriage, brought the carriage.
But Drummer Hoff, fired it off!
I thought powder coat couldn't go over JB Weld. How did you make that work? Also, is this for sale!? Amazing work!
Jb weld is perfect for powder coating ! And yes it is for sale ;) feel free to pm me 🙏
классно , она ещё и стреляет о_О
😅
wow, how long since that thing had been fired i wonder
Parhaat työkalut tuovat mestarin esiin.
Back then they knew how to make kids toys!!! 😂😂
Top 👍💪🏻🔥🔥🔥
How long does it take you to get a new thing to restore?
It depends… from 2 weeks to 1 month 😉
@TheFabrik that's why it takes forever to upload (aka a month)
Very coo
❤
No way that was a kids toy! 😮😮😮😮
Kompliment 👍👍👍
Two comments:
- Only use a brass / bronze (non sparking) ramrod
- Put a bit of steel wool soaked in WD-40 in the barrel after the wad - fun 😉
How big was the hole in your wall that the little canon ball made?
😅👍 Just a little mark 😉
Ah, yes... the 1920's when parents let their kids play with fire, gun powder, explosions, and metal projectiles. What could possibly go wrong? 😄
Nicely done! 👍
😅👍 Not the dog please 😱
🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍good workk
Thank you 🤗
Bardzo fajnie ja odnowiles
