Johnny just casually asserting his dominance over Araska while V shreds them makes the whole thing so much better.

Oh shit. That might be actually intentional.

@sgd0c
That's oversimplification you could use towards any FPS.
@sgd0c
Dude is using most op katana with blade weapon build. Try something else, that's not the only way. Maybe go shotgun, rifle or pistol and add kerenzikov? Try the power, tech o smart wepons? Build yourself for hacking? There are many ways and finding broken builds is actually fun.
As for fixing melee i would personally tighten hitboxes and i would make enemies attack faster, at least fast enough so that you can logically deduce WHEN to parry for fucks sake, tweak ranges so that strikes land as far as you feel they would, add proper colisions so that you can charge somebody to make that dude fall. There are so many ideas that could make melee better and more interesting. And add some faster executions for mantis blades, maybe some chokeslams and headsmashes for fists.
Oh. And add some more active skills for cyberpsychos and smasher. Give them some gimmicks. especially the smasher so that he won't just die when you are this OP.
I love the little dialogue pieces said by the Arasaka employees. Shit like "No fucking way, a single merc? Alone?". It really puts in perspective how badass V is, assaulting the biggest corporation alone and coming out on top.

Played this ending yesterday and honestly the enemy dialogue is the most interesting thing. They genuinely see you as a monster all screaming out fk how is one merc tearing us to shreds.
one thing i loved about the mission, not only do they get unique lines("such as the lone merc, how?!" comment and "I don't wanna die here... not like this") but despite the enemy variation becoming tougher and more plentiful, the human enemies start to MOVE more timidly(if you have the ping quickhack you'll notice some of the spawned guards who make fearful comments are very slowly tiptoeing their way forward shitting bricks that they're next)
This ending is one of those times where the game makes you feel like a giga-badass but from a lore point of view it barely makes sense lol.
A couple of weeks ago you and your badass merc barely make it out alive (and he doesn’t), but now you’re suffering from basically brain cancer and having mini-strokes the whole way through but you’ve managed to kill more people than small pox
@@Silentguy_ Not really you have been tearing up the city trying to get a cure upgrading your gear and body like crazy calling in favors that people owed johnny silverhand
At the end you have nothing to lose so no fear nothing to risk so no distractions.
@SilentGuy Hmm, you could rationalise it as a peculiar form of cyberpsychosis? Kinda like giving up your long-term health for short-term power and Johnny's skills, experiences and reflexes. Although I admit, it's still a little bit of a stretch.
@@Silentguy_ I got a few rationalizations in it. One: You are sharing a brain with an Ex-Military Corporation Terrorist and V already has a little Merc experience. Since V's brain is slowly melding over to Johnny you could argue that you have both persons' life experiences at your resource. I also like to think of the prologue of the game as a prologue you really don't have control over which is why none of your choices before then really matter until Johnny is in your head, so our input as a player is kinda what Johnny's influence partly is. Two: Yes, they have brain cancer but the symptoms seem to be intermittently affecting V's ability to function properly, not taking into account the constant symptom of Johnny talking to you. Three: If V wants to survive the whole ordeal, V didn't have a choice, but to become the strongest merc to exist in his time. You don't have a day to waste getting stronger as V. Which makes sense in the way most people play RPGs. The only times I see people willingly go to sleep in an RPG is when they have to for story or if they run out if healing supplies a la Fallout. V is in the hardest possible Sink or Swim situation. Which means they either had it in them to become a powerful merc the whole time, and this situation brought it out in them. Or, Johnny's influence plus V's light merc experience creates the merc that you play as.

The fact that jackie can somewhat answer your questions with his most recent memories tells you that there’s some of his consciousness left, but severely damaged
In Death Stranding you can find shards that contain fragments of Jackie's mind. If you find all his personality is essentially fully restored. Of course the question is if this is canon.

At the second last one its becomes evident that its Jackie, which he confirms after collecting the last one and that he "has no idea how get got to the DS universe, but needs to find a way back" and bids you farewell.
To me the best part of this ending is the bit when you get in the elevator and V starts panting but Johnny encourages us by saying “You’ve got this. You’re better than them”

Two factors make this mission uniquely difficult:
Saving is not allowed throughout the entire mission.
V's max Health will be lowered by 25% at the start of the mission, and gradually decreases by an additional 1% at certain intervals, indicated by the "Relic Malfunction Detected" notification. The longer it takes to complete the mission, the harder it gets to survive.
It's only difficult if you don't have a good V build. Do every gig and every ncpd mission. Deck yourself out with legendaries from head to toe and chose a good build like full net runner or full coldblood and you'll get this mission done in less than 5 minutes on very hard without ever needing to heal even once. Cold blood especially because of the damage boost that let's you one shot everything with like 80k damage.

The underlying message in cyberpunk is that no one rightfully lives forever, so just seize and live your life. Whether is it 30 days or 30 years or whatever.
Just go live your life.
Fact is all the endings that chosen immortality are depressing as hell. Even the one where Johnny gets a 2nd chance.
Say that to Arasaka Emperor in the Devil's ending
Unless you are a corporate overlord and can just pick a new body instead of staying in the net\soul prison. Then life will be amazing for you.
Yeah, but you can still feel happy. First playthrough I played as a Nomad (SPOILERS) and in the end I chose Panam's help which makes you an Aldecaldo and you go live a Nomad life until the rest of the days. Second I let Johnny have the body and I can't help but feel the character development he went through. He was nice to tha kid, bought him a guitar and all and finally set out to live a life worth living - even if it meant destroying V's and making V's friends and family (in a sense) hate him or be confused.
The game kinda spoils the ending right as you meet Dex. A Quiet life or a blaze of glory. Don't choose wrong.
That is what i take from this as well, even told another one of my brother's friends the same thing. Make every second of your life count, some point your life will run out, but i would hope you leave a legacy behind. In some ways i can kind of imagination the chip could be a symbol of memory for someone, remembering the person who lived but could it serve as a painful reminder or would it serve as a strength to push through life?

All of the game's endings (including the Arasaka ending, don't @ me) are cool and thought provoking. And I of course love the optimistic possibility of V living a peaceful life with the nomads.
However there is something so wonderfully beautiful, simple, and iconic to just saying "fuck it" and walking in the front door of Saka tower with a gun in your hand. This will always be the canon ending to me. This is what Cyberpunk is about. No happy endings, just one last blaze of glory and a chance to give the corpo scum a giant flaming middle finger. Tell 'em Johnny Silverhand sent ya.
I agree about the Arasaka ending, the part where to have to do the tests over and over again might feel tedious, but thats the point. I started off wanting to do the tests properly so I could live, but over time I actually got enraged by it just like V, and the choices available lined up perfectly with my own feelings. Such a terrifying and dark ending and they did it well
@aboxofbeans Agreed.
Yep this is the Canon ending sequence to me, suits the lore perfectly. Cyberpunk is about going out with a bang and being remembered no matter the cost, while doing it in style. There is no happy ending. Although I feel like each ending could've been improved. In my mind, the only logical conclusion is V dies after storming Arasaka, Johnny lives. (Thats how the tech works in the devil ending...)
@@dontexist115 Would be good if that V dies in the Smasher fight and Johnny takes the reigns and gets to finish it himself and avenge V

One dlc crystal palace, one dlc with the nomads. Should be fun
And i believe there will be one with morgan blackhand because of the discussion you can have with jackie pre-heist in the afterlife
Honestly there should be a DLC where you live out the rest of Silverhand's life in the ending where he takes V's body.
@@s1nd3rr0z3 They might. But if they do what they did with witcher 3, there will be 2 major DLC expansions. Doing Johnny as V feels like a whole other game y'know. Where is he going? There should be a dlc on a completely happy ending, in which both Johnny and V live
I know we are all sad that V pretty much doesn’t survive in any of the endings but if you really pay attention, the second V and Jackie took the mission from Dexter Deshawn, you and Jackie were already dead men walking. Jackie dies before you of course but you die shortly after with a bullet to the head. V died before they could even make their mark in Night City.
The Relic ironically was what saved their life while at the same time dooming them later. It’s actually really sad once you realize this. V died very early on in the story, what could have saved them or at least postponed their death because let’s face it V was gonna die one way or another in that chosen field it was just a matter of when and if they died in a blaze and gained legendary status, would be to not be so hasty in trying to get to the “Major Leagues.” So imo V brought this particular circumstance and death on themselves by dealing with Dexter Deshawn who was shown to be dishonest and no good from the start.
Imagine how different V’s journey would have played out if they hadn’t dealt with Deshawn who was a major fixer but many people told V he couldn’t be trusted, and stayed with Fixers like Wakako and eventually Rogue and other jobs to build up their rep and experience. They could have been much more successful or they could have died early on too we don’t know, this world of cyberpunk is very unpredictable, but it wouldn’t have been this way which we are all bummed out about.
But, we also wouldn’t have this game. I think most of us who’ve watched and played this got so caught up in Johnny and the Relic and V dying slowly over the course of the game that we overlook the fact that V had already died and was just another merc that tried to make a name for themselves and failed. The only thing living this long allowed V to do is actually gain a reputation and possibly become a legend.
Deshawn asked them a question at the start of the game. Die a glorious death or live a boring long life.
@@NattaTRAINS indeed he did. And V and Jackie took this opportunity to do just that. Jackie died in a blaze of glory and V not too long after died in much less of a blaze and was dumped in junkyard. V died before they could even make their mark in the city, the Relic revived them just to implant Johnny Silverhand in their place, V was a walking corpse sadly. If V wasn’t killed then Johnny never would have been able take over and cause the circumstance we play out as V. V dying set all of this in motion.
The nomad ending hints at finding a cure to V’s deadly problem, something about having contacts in Arizona where the nomad clan moves
@@lirikthehero385 Well, this ending is open-ended too. We don't know what happens on that space station.

But I do feel bad about cheating Goro like that, wish V could have sent a BD to him with Konpeki on it before smashing up Arasaka.
It works well with The Sun ending, cuz from this point onwards was where V’s fantastic feats of singlehanded devastation stepped into the realm of real myth, some shit a human being couldnt do alone, but he can because he lives every day, attacks every job like its the very last thing he will ever do

DLCs for a such a game... I think if there is one it would be a prequel to Johnny or one of the side characters because the ending is too choice-dependent, imo and you can't, say, have V survive if in your original playthrough you chose Johnny to take over.
It'll most likely follow The Witcher 3 dlc model. Something happening at the same time as main game story.
It would be cool if, depending on what ending you went with, is how the DLC plays in. Like with my ending, I rode off into the sunset with Panam. Maybe somehow Panam finds a way to save you
The badass ending wasn’t enough, my man’s had to go full samurai 🫡
18:43 I busted up laughing from your failure to save. 😂
What i hoped would have happened is they cloned V's body and put a relic version of V inside the body since cloning is possible in the cyberpunk universe
The exact same thing. Similar to Altered Carbon.
But that wouldnt force the end of the game, something rpg devs seem to love to do.
I'm not familiar with the lore but I think it's implied that tech is still being invented in 2077.
If you go with Hanako option V can be stored in engram state until cloning is available, cloning tech is not available yet at that current era, Saburo engram is inserted into his son Yorinobu and doing alright cause Yorinobu is his son, dna and tissue matching bullshit, but yeah, V is dying cause he's working with Dex and that bit*h doll Evelyn

It would be cool if you got an unlockable weapon that was tailor made for V.
Name: The Rebel Path
Type:Power Pistol
Rarity: Legendary/Iconic
Gun type:Revolver (You know since he’s holding one in the box art)
Weapon Type: Power:Bullets ricochet off surfaces.
Discription: A parting gift requested by Johnny during was of his little outings with V’s body. A custom made overture with The letter V engraved on the barrel along with Johnnys band Samurais colors. It symbolizes that a regular gonk in NC can slowly become a legend overtime.
Bonus stats:Scales with V’s level.
This would be a cool bonus weapon if you managed to max out your relationship with Johnny.
Technically that one pistol ya get in the beginning from that dude is V’s own pistol
I like this. Hopefully CDPR can read this and make some changes.
I always thought the Malorian 3516 seemed wrong. It looked weird. An oversized smart revolver variant of the Overture seemed better suited to V.
@@koiafterwakeaname8991 Yeah, Undying Night. Pretty much used that thing as my silenced option the whole game. It's V's gun after all, best for the man to wield it throughout

@@florin616 cool, but i recomend using "Overwatch" (Panam's Sniper), my build is based in critical chance and damage, so maximum was 76 thousand if I remeber well, (Ashura dosen't make that much damage becase its a Smart Weapon, to be fair it will aways hit the target)
@@cadaver4985 That's why I use smart weapons, enemies don't even have time to react when they get shot. I don't know if you need more than 10 thousand since you can hit them multiple times, especially when in cover or running. When you walk through the Arasaka security gate at the start always reminds me of when Neo and Trinity walk into the building where Agent Smith is holding Morpheus in the Matrix lol
I’ll add to that, another Matrix moment is you sacrificing yourself at the access point for Johnny/everyone just like Neo does when he offers to defeat Agent Smith with the machine’s power in exchange for humanity’s freedom. Keanu loves his roles involving self sacrifice and bitter sweet endings. I just beat it yesterday.
V: *cuts down the guards*
Johnny: ASSERT DOMINANCE
Kinda sucks that no matter what happens V kinda gets the short straw.
The worst thing is that the end sequence felt rushed.
Multiple story threads don't really get resolved.
Feels to me they really didn't know how to end the game properly and they kindof botched this in my opinion.
"happy ending? Wrong city, wrong people"
@Bones Sama hit the nail on that head with that one lol
@@Titant2 should have just ended with V gets his body and lives no time limit or you give Johnny the body. More of this door crap like mass effect except you get 5 doors and 4 end one of two ways.
@@Unbornblood1995 It's simple, your choices in the game that affect the ending are kindof meaningless with the whole 6 months of life thing.
The whole goal of the game was to find a cure, and this feels like a cop out in many ways not to have the choice to do so.
The whole plot for Arasaka was dropped, and there was an obvious 3 way choice intended to be originally in there (because it was mentioned at the parade)
The character writing was pretty good, the story writing was attrocious. Because the game simply wasn't finished and they cut down the story badly.
"Heeere's Johnny!"
Arasaka security: Oh fuck!
In this ending, V has everything... and nothing. Feels like a hollow win.
But their enemies lose. And Johnny laughs, and laughs, and laughs the whole way through.
Maybe V doesn't "win", but they make damn sure that nobody else does, either. Nobody they dislike, anyway.
And that's good enough for me.

@@Broken_Savior That was a Max Payne Reference nice!
In my opinion. this is arguably the best ending, provided you live as dying will trigger "The Easy Way out" ending.
Saburo loses. Yorinobu changes Arasaka. Hanako doesn't have to be put into a forceful marriage and/or will leave Arasaka, becoming a Nomad. Saul and Panam get along better. Mama Welles is over joyous that "her own kin she took in" is a legend and her and Misty getting along better (provided you tell her to give up the animosity between her and Misty) Rogue still lives and tells you you're in charge with Afterlife. V will never fade away due to becoming a Night City Legend, hell something is telling me V will live a lot longer than Six months like Alt is telling them. Even Misty is all like "you're gonna live longer than what is expected."
For a story that isn't suppose to be about saving the world, instead saving yourself, you sure manage to save yourself, your friends and family, and have Night City set up to be "working for a nuclear free city."
No. The best ending is with Panama. There was always the premise that Nightcity always won, no matter what happens; staying in Nightcity makes things worse and probably opens the door to more enemies. The journey and narrative of Johnny and V’s journey is that, in the end, the important thing is not to save yourself, but to save your loved ones. So leaving Night City and protecting your new family is the best argumentatively.
I'm pretty sure Hanako get zapped by Alt in every ending except the Devil ending.

This video is my first time hearing female V and damn the actress is actually really really good. Surprised they didn’t use her for more trailers.
Cherami Leigh is a phenomenally talented Voice actress that you will likely have heard before across her many roles in video games and animation. She brings a very unique approach to V I find in how she weaves through the emotional differences in conversations a lot more than the male V does I feel.
Not to discredit the male VA at all. He does a phenomenal job as well it just makes for a very interesting comparison when seeing the same scenes with either VA.
I feel like this will be very much like Mass Effect where despite the Male version of commander Shepard with VA by Mark Meer is the most widely marketed, it’s actually the female one voiced by Jennifer Hale that receives the most fan and critical praise for their performance in the role. We might see a similar case with the female V given how much attention the difference is getting between the two.
@@CDRUNKENmonkey I played with Male V and I didn't particularly like a lot of the way he delivers the lines. He wasn't ever necessarily bad, but just the pacing and tone of his voice didn't fit the emotion I was trying to convey with the dialogue options if that makes sense. Listening to the Female V it feels like she does a much better job at delivering the lines how I expect them to sound.
@@CDRUNKENmonkey You my good Sir, get it!
I seriously wonder if a female V is the intended lead, and the male V was added later. The female V’s lines work/sound better, especially during anything to do with Johnny.
I love Johnny casually walking in and saying “Let’s party like it’s 2023!!”
Anyone else having Matrix vibes as you enter a tower crowded with soldiers by the front door?
Those were my first thoughts. The song kicked in while fighting and gunning through suited corpo enemies. Matrix bit with more guns. No pun intended

I feel like "New Dawn Fades" is the most touching ending of them all. It's not good ending, but it's not bad ending either. None of them are bad in their own sense, and none of them are good.
It's the only one that brought tear to my eye. It was really good.

Well, the ending where you go out the way Johnny would- lone wolf and with a bang.

I wish there’d been a way to give V a new body and then Johnny could take over this one. I like this solo blaze of glory ending, since I really didn’t feel comfortable asking The Aldecaldos to risk all their lives on the chance for me to survive. Think I’ll go with this one.
Was also disappointed that I couldn’t leave with Panam after finishing the Rogue ending.
Maybe in a year or two we’ll get some DLC that gives other endings. One can hope.

@@fangorie I felt it was the happiest ending. They still have hope saving V and despite the dead people the Aldecados seem exalted that they defeated two Megacorps and made a ton of money off of it.

This is way more powerful when you pick Corpo path for V. It's honestly poetic too, you begin in Arasaka and entering an AV then end by entering Arasaka and entering an AV. Begin on top and end on top.
This ending is just intense, just finally passed it today. All I really needed was some powerful cybernetic implementations, power and upgraded tech weapons, and some special abilities. One of the cybernetic implementations that really helped me was the Second Heart. One of the best weapons to proceed forward was the Hammer tech pistol, as well as a high level Defender, and in case y’all wondering, I was level 45, you don’t necessarily need the highest level to pass the mission.
