- The Baltimore Ravens took care of business on the road with a 33-19 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Lamar Jackson finished with 252 passing yards and two touchdowns, which Head Coach John Harbaugh called 'an MVP performance.' On the other hand, Brock Purdy finished with 255 passing yards but threw four interceptions and no touchdowns. Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones discuss whether the MVP award is now Lamar's to lose and if Niners Faithful should be worried about Purdy.

Acho and shady sat up there a few days ago and said they trusted purdy over lamar. Both of them faced great defenses, how did they look?? Keep in mind Lamar is down his star TE and favorite target in mark andrews, his rb1 dobbins and his rb2 in mitchell, O-line banged up and yet he STILL getting done because he's a difference maker. People forget andrews not even there because lamar make his absence not matter
Thats why lamar is special truly a one man offense not always pretty but hes a master of complimentary football

Purdy had nore throwing yards despite having nore turnovers. 3 of 3 purdys int werent his fault. Bad bounces. Great defensive plays sure, but unfortunate bounces. Lastly MVP isnt about what happens over the nost recent game. Its about what yoive done over the course of a season and Purdys stats are better than lamars. Thats just a fact.

I went to the game last night, stayed at a hotel that was about 5 minutes away. A lot of 9er fans was at the breakfast buffet, I was in there like “Action/Edgar/the raven” the WHOLE time.

The raven is named after Edgar Allen Poe, who was a famous Gothic writer. He wrote a poem called "The Raven" which was pretty famous. He lived and died in Baltimore where he is buried. The Baltimore Ravens are named in homage to him. Probably my favorite nfl name origin story.

I think Shanahan tried to show that Purdy is the MVP and failed. The 49ers threw the ball for the majority of the game and Shanahan didn’t use McCaffrey as much as he should have. Never change what’s been working for you. I’m confident we’ll be the #1 seed regardless of this loss.
I said this same thing. CMC was averaging 7 per carry during the game and he kept calling passes.

The best segment I heard about Brock Purdy. James Jones has clearly established himself as the Nr.1, most insightful and articulate analyst on this show, launching from Acho's excellent challenges. I wish TJ Houshmandzadeh would be here on a permanent basis, too. He's as good as JJ and Acho, and I loved the way he shut up Joy last week.

The MVP has always been Christian McCaffrey. Idk why we are all acting like the award has to go to a QB. McCaffrey is the MVP this year.
As a Purdy fan I think their analysis of Purdy was fair today. He had a very bad game and its honestly ok that he isn't the regular season MVP; but yesterday was a learning lesson and he's still a good enough quarterback to at least pull them to SB this year. I mean he's in his second year as the last pick in the NFL draft. Essentially what his season this year proves is that he is, and will continue to improve at an incredible rate (assuming he continues to work hard). I think the real questions are really with Kyle and the coaching staff and also with that O-Line too lol; but everyones interpretation of what order the priority list for concerns about yesterday's game will be different depending on the individual speaking.

@@jamesfetcho6315 Simple, b/c being the one to score a TD doesn't matter. Lamar's greatest attribute in the red zone is as a decoy. It's one of the reasons they have success there w/o Dobbins, Mitchell, or Andrews. For Brock, usually QB's get garbage TD's playing from behind, but when Brock plays from behind all he does is rack up TOV's. I always wondered why Kyle refused to go into a 2 minute offense w/ Brock when he gets behind. But when Sam came in, Kyle immediately switched & went 2 minute. Brock is awesome if the 9ers are getting separation (which they're #1 at and it's not close), but if the coverage is tight, the ball doesn't have enough zip & deflections come (Ravens deflected 11 passes). Also, John Chapman had an interesting note that Brock is terrible when they go into empty sets (no option to play action fake). Conclusion, Brock should go to the PB and is way better than Jimmy, but they should not pay him elite QB money (currently $55+ mill).

You have to remember Mr. Jackson never had weapons all over the field like Mr. Purdy has so Mr. Jackson was almost a one man gang out there that's why he got hurt at the end
