  • It's always fun to get off the boat and do some pond fishing from the bank. For this trip I used a Whopper Plopper, 12 inch worms, and a swim jig. This allowed me to fish all water depths, and I caught fish on topwater, medium depths, and down deep with these three lures. Get out and enjoy some pond hopping folks!

I enjoyed the video, and appreciated watching you work the baits. So many fishing videos just include the blowups and reeling of the fishing but I'm also interested in seeing how each bait is used. Good video quality and excellent editing !!

Thanks for posting this video!!! This is how I fish 100% of the time when I fish and I like to have options when catching the LMB. However, I was trying to figure out which ones worked for me when fishing my various spots. Whatever I choose doesn't work for each spot. I find that I have to choose my baits according to where I'm fishing. Once I know what they're hitting on, each and every time I go and fish these spots, that's what I carry. I make few changes to my bait line up.

Do you change out the hooks on your whopper ploppers? I've always had a problem with the stock hooks becoming dull after 10 or so bass, and then as a result losing fish on blowups. I usually switch to the mustad triple grip hooks. Just was wanted to your thoughts on that subject. Loved the video!

Blakeo777 you don’t want braid for top water. braid sinks... it’ll effect the action of whatever top water bait you’re throwing. unless you use a mono leader. then you’re good to go. but otherwise? mono is usually the best for top water fishing.
