Thank you! Was thinking about buying a planner with 80gsm paper but after seeing your video I will opt for a different one with at least 100gsm paper

Wow, Garry! I appreciate your message at the end.
And the video is so well done! I like these immediate skips between the wetness tests, and the cuts and audio are also very well done.
Also, glad you didn't edit out the vac filler thingy. Just more life-like, pretty strictly structured otherwise.
I don't know how it is for others, but I find that your into's music, the drums, is a bit too loud after hearing your voice logging in or out.
Only let me add this note: I found an awesome, noname book (literally unbranded) with excellent paper for fp ink (relative fast dry, allows some shading, smooth etc) at an unbeatable price the other day at a local store. It's well worth keeping an eye out for these gems.

Thank you for your comments. In terms of the music - I have a new intro sequence that has a more upbeat music with a batter volume match, as I was finding the drums not really reflecting what I was aim to deliver, you should see them come in over next few weeks - I have pre-recorded a number of videos so I don’t need to record and edit over Christmas and new year. I try and keep the videos as real as possible, so when I hit an issue I like to share it in the hope that it will help someone else. I’ve had a couple of notepads for a national chain called Kmart, these were about $3 AUD each and worked really well. I’m trying to use as many different types of paper to see what works well for me. As you noted my aim is that it shouldn’t matter what paper, pen or ink you use, as long as you enjoy the experience of writing.

While we’re critiquing the production, I would appreciate a header saying which paper we’re addressing. I’m watching this while wrapping Christmas presents and I keep losing track of which paper we’re on.

@@polymathica Thank you for this. This is the sort of feedback I love as it allows me to improve my future videos. I'll look at starting to include headers.

Hey Garry, wanted to let you know that I use a $2-3 visual art diary from Kmart with a TWSBI fine nib and carbon black ink. It’s 110 gsm and gives no bleed through, no feathering and the same ghosting as a rollerball. Doubt there is a cheaper paper that works so well.

Cool, thanks. I'll have a look for one next time I'm at KMart.

Perhaps it's best to note that fountain pens don't do too well on any type of paper. I stick to my Parker pens and none of that fancy crap.
