When I was a brand new Catholic, I quickly found myself in a whirlwind of different opinions - TLM vs NO, communion in hand vs kneeling on tongue, etc. Whatever issue can be used as a wedge to divide us is being used. I asked (and continue to ask) Our Lady for help (discernment) because I realized that separating truth from lies is not easy - lies are often not obvious. Devil uses our pride ("I see things clearly and you don't") to rile us up and separate us into tribes. Just my two cents.
I am caught in the middle of some things where I currently stand. I choose to abide by the Pope and the Magisterium, while exploring the (what I thought to be lost when growing up) TLM. I feel what Michael says is true, if the Pope or Magisterium or council of Bishops are somehow proven false, then Catholicism and Christ are false, as he said he would watch over his church.
My devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help and Our Lady Undoer of Knots helped me not go down the RadTrad train. Glad I knew the devotion of Undoer of Knots because Pope Francis promoted it during his first year as a Pope. Its like the Pope helped me not become a Sede through that devotion.
Both the TL Mass and NO Mass are licit. And you can faithfully accept Jesus (Eucharist) in the hand just as all the first Christians did for several hundred years. In the 4th century St. Cyril of Jerusalem wrote: "In approaching therefore, come not with your wrists extended, or your fingers spread; but make your left hand a throne for the right, as for that which is to receive a King. And having hollowed your palm, receive the Body of Christ, saying over it, Amen." _(Mystagogicae catecheses 5,21)_
