Because all our trim, doors and ceilings were painted in shoji white we chose SW Dumpling for the walls. The previous color was Anew Gray which made our house so dark. I tried so many samples trying to find what worked. I love the color shoji white but wish it wasn’t my trim, door and ceiling color.
It's hard to see the contrast in the video, perhaps bc of my screen? Would love to hear your favorites for whole house color (are there any?). We're doing a whole house gut and adding a second floor but can't imagine picking different colors for every room...
I’ve done 2 houses with Shoji White - one was Shoji with white trim (can’t recall the color right now) and was a gingerbread Victorian. Turned out gorgeous. The other one I did the trim and walls Shoji which was a 70s mountain house. Also beautiful. You can always add wall paper or paint rooms as you go along. I’m here because I can’t decide whether to use Shoji for the exterior too or White Duck.
Would you go with Shoji White or White Duck to pair with Natural Tan in an adjoining room?
Do you have thoughts about Shoji in a room with only north light?

Ooh!
I sampled dumpling and loved it but am scared to commit because I can’t find much information on it.

Could you zoom in a bit more in future videos? The samples appear quite small.
GOT IT - will do, and thank you for the feedback!
My walls are painted Alabaster, I would like to paint my kitchen cabinets a light warm neutral, any suggestions?
Hey! Your walls actually come in last place when it comes to cabinet color - your countertop and backsplash combo should call 90% of the shots!
