ATTENTION: The method will work better if in the reproject settings you set "ray bias" to 100%. Also it is often possible to attach the extrusions simply using boolean, which is much quicker!
Thank you so very much for this great video! I am an Android user and this was an extremely needed tutorial! I have been struggling with remeshing issues, crashing and loss of detail. Please, continue making videos like this!
Amazing! Pease do the next tutorial! Thank you immensely for your efforts! This is so helpful when retopologized model is needed with limited tools and no access to PC!
Wonderful comment! Yes, you are right. I am so used to using booleans to join objects at odd angles (which creates complicated join lines) that I never tried with extract shell! This is such a helpful insight. Thankyou. I will make an updated video (probably retopologising a whole character) which will use booleans! It will be twice as fast. Thanks again.
@@Tabletsculptingtips be careful though sometimes boolean substraction can create holes to the mesh , so some testing is required to get the hang of it. Would love to see what new techniques you come up.
No problem! I mention (maybe at the end of the video, I forget) that Android users don't have many options for retopology on their devices: no quadremesher, no cozyblanket, no Uniform; so I hope this is helpful to any of them if they want to try. I think manual retopology is fiddly and time consuming whatever tools you're using (I've used blender, cozy blanket and Uniform!) and for relatively simple forms I think this method is surprisingly usable (especially with a quicker way to join the extrusions using boolean pointed out by a viewer!) I don't necessarily expect many people to do manual retopology in Nomad, the video is more about experimenting with what's possible and pushing the limits of Nomad, and hopefully learning some interesting things along the way! All the best.

Wow, the insane amount of control you can get with this…

MAN THIS WAS AMAZING
This is an advanced concept and kudos to the author for figuring out this workflow. It’s very powerful.
Great! I'm an android user and appreciate your method.
dude... this is insane and so good...

You can do this faster with boolean union instead of auto merge, without the need to delete anything. Great video thanks for sharing

Master Class !!!
This is nuts. Thank you so much man.
Thanks for sharing, this video absolutely amazing!
Thanks. If you have a go yourself, set the reproject ray bias to 100%, not what I do in the video. Works much better at 100%.
You are genius and help me a lot !!! Thank you❤
Genius idea !! Thanks for sharing
nice workflow
great stuff!
Great base.
Quad remesh
Thank you for the video but honestly this seems like a hugely over-complicated workflow. Way better to just spend the extra £15 for Quad Remesher.

I guess it's quicker this way than with Cosyblanket. 👍
I quite like cosyblanket, but I think with practice this method might be quicker.
