Hello everyone! Here are five things you don't need to enter or live in Cambodia. Donate: www.paypal.me/daveinthailand or www.ko-fi.com/ddcambodia
Hi Dave. Thanks for sharing these infos. It was great to meet you recently with Claire and Jeremy.
Hey there K-Swiss! It was great meeting you also. I hope you're settling in okay here in Siem Reap!
Next topics ( taxes in Cambodia? Sale?, income tax? Motorcycle/car tax? Real estate tax? Business tax? Special tax for expat?
Great topic. One of your previous viewers said that Cambodian government made expat pay 20 percent tax.
This channel just keeps getting better and better every new upload quality appreciated and will be shared 👍 😊
Thank you very much, I appreciate it!
great video
Patience is what you need.
The airline requiring proof of return flight is so weird to me, even for Tourists. many tourists depart Cambodia via a land border to Thailand, Vietnam or Laos.
I had to provide proof of my flight to Cambodia from Thailand, at check in at the Vancouver airport. I was coming back through PP but arrived in BKK.
The Airline was China Airlines based out of Taipei.
I know, it's just weird that some airlines are good with it and others are not since it's not required from Cambodia itself.
Several people have asked me about this and if you say I'm going there to live so I don't have a return ticket, it will be fine. Maybe have a bank statement on your phone showing you have funds. But we were asked the same questions and told them that and had no problems, same with the visa.
Great topic Dave. 👍 Thanks for sharing! ✌😎
Thank you Ed!
Great info as always!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video , Dave ,
Thank you for watching!
Next topic: Can you talk about drug addiction in Cambodia for expats? Top 5 drugs used for expats?
Great topic...should also talk about no treatment program?
Hey Dave, regarding international license. Yes true not required BUT if you’re insurance may not cover you without it and most will not cover you on a motorcycle without a motorcycle license from your own country. This is a big issue as most insurance is claimed from road accidents and Local Asians are happy to hire you a bike without standard requirements in your own country and under insurance regulations
Apparently, I was mistaken about that. It seems that Cambodia does now recognise an international driver's license. It's not on the government website yet but it's now accepted. For Riel let me know!
@@DaveDoesCambodia an Australian in Bali recently had a go fund me for his motorcycle accident. He wasn’t covered by insurance because he didn’t have a license to ride in Australia. He need to raise I this around 300k in medical.
Hey Dave I’ve been meaning to get back to Siem Reap and live, at the moment I’ve just relocated to Perth Australian for the mining boom but hope in no more than 10 months I will be looking for an apartment in Cambodia. Just getting the bank off me. Hope to catch up.
Peace
Mike
Another great topic Dave informative and I love your strolls looks great
King Diamond rules 🤟
No criminal check.....great !
Next Topic- five illnesses that hurt/kill expats in Cambodia: dengue fever? Stroke? Heart attack blood pressure? Fall? Accident? Rabies?
Good one! Sounds like a great topic to cover, thank you!
Looking forward to it
Try to stop shaking the camera during filming.
They should check for criminal background. Why take other countries trash.
There are expats from all over the world. The Khmer government can’t confirm… if expats commit crimes in Cambodia, they have to deal with Khmer Hilton ( at least for now).
The problem with no police check is that lots off misfits will end up in Cambodia.
Truth. From worldwide. Just what Cambodia needs. More people who would not be accepted anywhere else. The lowest bar of anywhere to retire. Thanks for advertising it.
@@craiglatimer5723so true mate 👍
Great video again Dave...much appreciated. One question: Because of the income requirement for marriage, do many expats just have girlfriends or common law? Not that 2500 is a huge deal. Thanks
It seems to be a personal choice more than a financial one. There are a lot of married expats and a lot of boyfriend/girlfriend/living together type relationships.
Thankyou.
Im American, I lived in Vietnam for 7 years when I was a young man 20-27 , I saw 1 American get into a traffic accident ( nobody helped him, I had to help them and my Viet wife had to call the hospital ) everyone just watched confused, while the guy was bleeding out having a grand mal seizure on the floor
Yummy street food ..
Very yummy as always!
Dave , I’ve been watching your channel, almost from the beginning ,
So I want to say, what annoys me about your channel , is that you rarely answer questions, by your subscribers
Peter Australia
I spend a lot of time each week answering questions through email, messenger, WhatsApp, etc. I also have over 700 videos on my channel that has almost any answer to questions about living in Cambodia. I also have a book for that as well. I don't have time to answer in detail every single question that has been asked thousands of times before.
Ok Dave maybe I’ll unsubscribe?
Hey Peter- fellow Aussie here. I think your ‘rarely’ is a bit unfair. I know what you mean bc I have seen it across YT in my areas of interest- and it annoys me too. I think Dave does a good job of replying. Its subjective of course.
So if you don't need health insurance what do you need to get health care? I have some chronic illnesses
If you need a doctor you’re screwed . I choose between pharmacist advice or the conflicting advice on you tube to treat whatever ailments. No matter what you’re going to die , just hope you don’t suffer .. but then you can always jump off a high rise . Jumping off of low balconies don’t work well and when you survive that the lanlord will think you’re a ghost ..
You would need cash
With no health insurance you would pay for any medical expenses in cash.
is it true khmer bank accounts wont accept usd payments from crypto exchanges?
your a horror writer... video experience...Surely a Cambodian Film House producing your books to Khmer film must be on the cards?
cheap place to do it.
I just got my business visa, do I need a Forte covid certificate???
Not anymore
No, it's not required.
Even for business visa holders? I thought they still had to do the FORTE... its on the website but maybe its outdated@@DaveDoesCambodia
Guess where I am
Where’s Waldo ?
Cambodia?
#6 bad attitude😊
Haha... very true. Keep that at home!
I had a question about getting a Skype phone number. 1) I paid for a Skype phone number, but it only lets me receive phone calls from the u.s.a., but doesn't let me call out. 2) I paid more money to get a subscription to call the u.s.a. and that works, and I can get 2 factor authentication by VOICE calls only. text messages do not work. Do I need to pay more money again for the text message upgrade???
I don't know anything about Skype or their payment plans.
Where does the $250 donation target go?
Basic necessities and cheap cigarettes .
Made the police work that much easier now.
Do you need False return ticket ?
WTF !
At least onward ticket , not necessarily return .
No you don’t need it if you can convince the airline to look it up that you don’t .
When shopping are there locals prices and foreigner prices
Kind of. It's a negotiation as they're trying to get a higher price and, of course, you want lower. Shopping at stores that have price tags eliminates the need for negotiating or paying too much.
If you speak Khmer, it helps with negotiation. Just go To stores with regular price tags. Personally, I don't mind paying few cents more. My county has higher taxes than the neiboring counties. I prefer my county for many amenities.
Your camera is a bit jittery
I can one respond , from a personal point of view , I have asked basic questions , No Reply , I understand U , Tubers with very large subscriber lists , can’t answer every one ,
But Dave is not in that category,
Peter
Open borders then ?
Could you stretch that out any longer? About one minute would have been enough. Blah blah blah
