You just earned mad respect from me. As a console player landing the rocket grapple is nearly impossible; unless you're aiming 90°. That said, thanks a ton for testing out the green strings.
This means that you can likely grapple Boots of the Assembler heals too. I know they're treated as physical objects due to the number of times I spawned one in my face as I went to shoot a rocket :)))
May as well jump in here for those asking about bows. It CAN work, the problem is it's only about as useful as grabbing a tangle. EG: You can grab verglas hail arrows, but they lack the distance of other options (Hip fire is a lot slower with a lot more restricted arc) There's a sweet spot in terms of velocity and stability and generally for exploring/skips you want the most bang for your buck I'm sure there's some absurd gimmick we'll all find with the less "Ideal" stuff that's harder to grab/abuse
@@armourdillo1236 If you aim at a target, they'll have more range, but hipfire always has a weird arc. And for this you need hipfire and slower predictable projectiles to have as little delay and the best grab chance possible
Ok I've managed to get it consistently on console, to do it practice grabbing it vertical. The timing is important because you need to understand which part can use a walk/step animation. After you got it down, to do it horizontal it is the same as vertical except you step forward and then grab. That will allow you to do it
@@Loonfuzzy I practiced in dreaming city, I do an internal count of 2 after my shot. In those 2 seconds I have a step forward and grab on the noble round. Make sure to aim at the round as your reticle moves slightly up above the round.
Might as well leave this tip for everyone, if you want to practice this, you can do the first mission of the campaign and you can get strand empowered and keep trying it until you got the timing down, you can also wipe if needed.
Don't bother with first contact mission, in the bottom middle is a node you can select from orbit that is the timed trial of your final strand training bit, that specific node is used when getting the final warning exotic, you load in and are immediately met with a strand source and a banner, great for practicing rocket grappling too for those who still wish to use that too (mainly for when you want to go vertical when allies are around, such as scarlet keep elevator, since you can jump floors and kill the wizards so that when the elevator gets to that floor, you can immediately break the crystal and progress/ do it again for speed runs)
Goated thanks for this that rocket strat doesn’t work on console for me and I was so sad, somebody on the comments said to shoot and step Foward and grapple and it works 80 percent of the time

A useless thing that you can grapple to is actually the threadlings. Accidently grappled one of mine crawling on a wall and it drug me down as it was trying to return to me.
I always was a bit annoyed, that I cant use macros on console. But now that there are macros for rocket/lumina flying, I'm really really upset. I've tried to find an somewhat consistent strat to pull of rocket flights and managed to get it to about 1-3 successful tries with the 7 rockets I can hold. That's just way to inconsistent to pull of in a real kingsfall ship jumping phase. When I swap to my rocket when I reach the jumping puzzle, I will only have like 1-2 rockets. No way I'll get it done with such few tries 😢
there is macros on console (at least playstation) only thing you need is remote play and a program on your pc (if you have one. even a laptop is enough)
Wait what!?!?!? I am trying that when I get home, I just got the catalyst for Lumina yesterday and got lightfall an hour ago. I really wanna show my friends this.
Oh….Wow!!! We have had a strand exotic without even knowing it all these years!!! Even me! I’ll have to try this myself!!!🤯😮 This is going to be useful!
You need to account for recoil when using macros. (Not accounting for sensitivity) you need to set a step to move your mouse 15 frames down if your monitor is 1080p, or 35 frames down if your monitor is 1440p
Just got it to work. On lumina specifically there’s a very SLIGHT delay before you press grenade than the launchers. I’ve been flying around Europa since
No matter how many time's I've tried this, I keep "Flubbing" the grapple, and each one I *think* I grab it only ends up right behind where it was. I'm confused as to the timing, I guess, but it seems like it'd be worth bringing along for Warlocks.
Seems horribly inconsistent to me, I more or less figured out the delay however there seems to be something else at play. I believe this may be tied to framerate, at about a .025 second delay in my macro I get it pretty consistently, however when I change locations it breaks the macro. For example I can do it in the throne world 5 out of 5 times with the macro, however on the moon I'm 0 out of 20+ I believe the delay between firing lumina, and successfully grappling to it has a few variables.
It even stays attached after a bounce. I wonder if this could be used to fly around corners on a single noble round/grapple charge to reach even more places.
I still feel its a bit random as to whether or not it connects, but AHELLUVA lot more consistent. Was able to pull off back to back connects, multiple times. Still working on the three-peat, though.
Im having a bit of touble with the timing. Are you pressing grapple and shoot at the same time or like grapple before shoot or shoot then grapple, and im guessing its like a couple frame window
It just keeps getting increasingly more insane.
What else did you think we would do except the insane and unorthodox ?
i am honestly impressed how well the grapple works
Sooner or later someone's gonna post them grappling a sniper bullet

They might get rid of it because of players using it to skip puzzles
hope if that's the case they just disable it in puzzle parts. hopefully it stays in all other areas of the game

With Lumina, i've had some luck with aiming slightly lower than horizontal and walking forwards while you shoot, though it's about a 50/50 chance
So we can grapple rockets and lumina bullets to fly at speeds that make skates look like a slow crawl

Eh, not very useful since they have such a short range comparatively.
the developers didn't lie when they said it was fun
would you theoretically be able to grapple a bow projectile since it isnt hitscan?
Nah, it goes way too fast.
I'd assume it's way, way too fast to pull off. Even if the grapple could connect, it'dprobably break before you go anywhere
Maybe, but bow projectiles are fast asf, so the grapple would break almost immediately after firing (if you attach to the bow in the first place).
Bows are VERY fast, and if the arrow would hit it's target in under a certain window it is hitscan
Could you also show a flight with 3 people 👌
