I owned a 1968 57 foot Connie that I bought in 1974 when I was 21 , my parents thought I lost my mind , lived on board for 36 years and I regret selling every single day of my life
Those were truly beautiful boats - all of the Chris-Craft boats of that era were. The design has a certain elegance to it that most modern boats simply don't have. Also, as I'm sure you know, they were built well.
@@bveracka yeah I am a flush deck kind of gal and I was a fanatic at keeping her better than new , not a fan of these funky shape modern boats but I do fancy the Nordhavns
@@Anne6621 Yes, there are a lot of weird hull shapes in the mix these days. I can see why you like the Nordhavn designs; they're back to basics in comparison to many modern designs, but still very sharp.
Love the boat, I worked on many of the old Constellations on the Chesapeake Bay in the 70's. She would make a great live aboard if you have the time and money to maintain this ol' girl.

These were built in Algonac. The engines are GM 8-71N 350HP. Fuel 300-325 capacity. water around 150g. Depending on props cruise 12-13 knots, wide open 15k, depending on load. Nice boat, bright work looks really well maintained. Looks like hull seams routed, nice. Always get the survey.
I love these boats yeah they cost a lot to maintain but they’re worth every penny you go to the boat show now look at $1 million yacht. You can’t even stand up straight if you’re 6 foot tall in the master. This one’s beyond gorgeous they don’t make them like this anymore nicer than some apartments for the price But like I said “Boat” Break out another thousand$. 🥰😘
Brent, would you please let me know if the boat house the Connie is in is on a floating dock or fixed to pilings? Unless it is on a lake, the low ceiling would indicate floating? A wooden boat is like a piece of furniture, if left out tp the weather, everything is ruined in little more that a year. I plan on building a boat house for my 53 ft 1939 Elco, its the only answer. Thanks
You know it would be nice if you put some info about where and who to contact about this boat. I might be interested. It would also be helpful if you actually gave some info on the boat.
Beautiful boat, built when the name had build quality as opposed to the demise of Chris Craft in the 80's and 90's when they built crap like the Amerosport line. The ownership of Genth tore down the brand.
She's lovely - very practical, non-flashy interior, but comfortable. And well maintained, nothin' but work, these old gals, but worth it in terms of looks! Why no pic of engine room?
It looks like it's a wooden boat is it a fiberglass 1970 it should be fiberglass by then get the vote for 100 grand it cost you $200 a year to keep it pretty that's a beautiful boat
