4/1/2024. Just found this and love it. I started something like it last year, but haven't got on with it. You have inspired me to keep on with it. Thanks for that. My name is Judy, I'm from Australia, and I'm 80 yrs.
I really enjoy this format, especially if it means we get to see more of your lovely work and creative inspiration! I have 50 years worth of bits and pieces hanging around that I will be looking at with a fresh eye. What a charming way to give the little pieces we’ve accumulated over the years a chance to shine!
How fun would it be to sit down in an afternoon and put together 12 kits of little paraphernalia for yourself and open them up monthly to do this project. Fun group project too. Either get together to slow stitch or trade kits.
This gives me a wonderful idea to make a book of some of my Mom's embroidery from a quilt that's over 50 years. Couldn't save the quilt but now I can save her pieces and add a little for my sons and grandsons and maybe even my new great-grand son. Like Judy I'm 75 years and found your channels.
This was incredibly inspirational. I felt that Ah ha moment from the January page which was just beautiful and the feeling grew. Thank you for sharing this.
I’m watching this in December 2023, so you will have completed the book. I have to search it out to see what you decided to do with the cover. But, as you were going through the pages and talking about your creative process, I started to think what I might do if I made a book like this. I have some tatting pieces that I tried using my grandmother’s shuttle, and I thought they would be interesting to add. And then you got to November and wow! You had some tatting that month, I was so excited! Who knows? Maybe I will have a play with a book like this. Thank you for the inspiration.
You've combined so many of my loves here. Just discovering tatting. Love everything textile. Beginning to "Junk" treasure journal. Jelli printing. I'm interested in combining the texture of painted fabric and different embroidery and lace styles. Another wonderful video, Sarah!
Thanks for sharing this, I think it is a fabulous way of capturing lots of little treasures, those bits you buy because you love them so much but then realise you can not bare to use them on a project or commission to see them go. This way you get to display and enjoy them forever in your possession all together. What a delight!
Have you thought of putting the pages together using Coptic stitch. It is something they do in bookbinding and there are tutorials on UA-cam. It does not squash the pages down and gives the book a better finish. Love this different channel and seeing what you make. Thanks
I like the idea of making a little stitch book at leisure, rather than having to work to a time schedule. That way I think you can do your best work and be more creative. I love the variety of pages and designwork and so nice to collate them into a precious little book of embroidery. TFS, it is delightful.
Soooo many ideas, not enough time. 😂 Thank you for another inspiring video. In German high school ( many moons ago) we learned all different forms of needlework so I love doing it all. This is an excellent way to incorporate everything. ❤
Sarah, you have inspired me to make an embroidery book. You're so creative. I love the gold work you add to the projects. It gives it a nice sparkle. I aspire to become a good embroiderer one day, not as good as you but good enough to teach my children.
That's great! Start collecting some little bits and pieces, you will soon get lots of inspiration from them! Have a play and enjoy the process, it's not about being a work of art...
Sarah, I love your videos - so relaxing. Regarding your stitch book: You could bind the top edge of each page with a fabric, punch two holes in the top binding, stitch-bind the holes and lace a ribbon through them. Then they could be hung from the ribbon on a wall post, flipping every month like a calendar. What a shame to keep them enclosed.
Thanks for your idea, there's alot to think about! I quite like them being enclosed, that way you get to 'discover' them all over again everytime you open the book...
T gonna lie, I think I'm gonna try to organise monthly crafternoon sessions with my friends and put the books together and give it to them each at Christmas next year, if I can manage it. 😮😮 I've never really seen myself doing this type of abstract crafts much, but you definitely have inspired me to try. Thank you for sharing! ❤
How wonderful. I loved each page more than the one before. I’m already thinking about doing this for next year. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely work ❤
Hi Sarah it would be cool to just attach the corners collectively with a ring and still encase it in the soft book without sewing it down. When I was studying horticulture, we used to press our plants on paper, used a hole punch on the corners and put a detachable ring so we could study the plants and see the whole page. Just a thought…🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
No the plants were covered with a clear laminate to preserve them but fabric would be different. You could use grommets on the corners to preserve the holes in the corners of your fabric too! 😃🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
Finally getting to the video. Been gathering and preparing for this fun project. There were some great books in the stitching around the world video. Very much inspired me to try. Thanks always Sarah. Hugs from Gramcracker ❤
Oh Sarah, that is gorgeous. I’ve learnt so much from your other channel and I can never get over how generous you are with your skills. Thank you so much for all you add to my days. I have only just discovered this channel and I love it, it’s like sitting down with a friend and sharing what you’ve done. 🥰
I loved this Sarah and feel very privileged that you have shared this beautiful book wirh us. I have been a subscriber of your other channel for a while but have not yet been able to return to my stitching. I love your videos and regard the time I spend with you as my me time when I need to rest relax and recharge my batteries. My much loved late mum was called Sarah as is my eldest sister. Love vera in Northern Ireland
Thank you so much for your kind words Vera, this Creates channel is my relaxation, time to have a play and work on something I want to do. My mother in law is Vera so we share alot of names!
Love this format Sarah! I love watching what you make while I’m making my own projects. Whether it’s embroidery or other crafts. I prefer the videos where you’re talking to us rather than the ones with music, but appreciate they’re probably more time consuming Looking forward to your next video ❤
I'm so excited by this. It feels like a great way to combine quite a few crafts I enjoy with embroidery - cross-stitching, felting, even scrapbooking of sorts with the collages and applique. Maybe I can incorporate some crochet as well. I love this format and can't wait for your next video here.
Having found your channel earlier this year I am still playing catch-up with all your videos which I am finding so very useful. Having watched this one I now have some idea as to what I can do with a few of my sample and experimental pieces that until now have just been laying dormant in a box. Once again, thank you very much Sarah for all your wonderful ideas.
Love your little book, Sarah, it has inspired me to revisit one I began at the beginning of the year. I won't label the pages per month though, to keep it flexible. I've been thinking about bonding too, really like the concertina idea
they are so beautiful! i can't seem to get excited about stitch books, as it drives me insane having such beautiful pieces hidden from sight. if i had the blessing of owning such gorgeous works, I'd create a wall-hanging from them. maybe something in a calendar layout? i don't know.. but Sarah, i adore how even your little personal pieces are such stunning works. I'd say a particular one if i could, but they are all stunning.
Hello Sarah I suppose that this very beautiful stitch book is finished. Could you please tell me in which video I could see the final project. I also want to make one and I search an idea for assembling all pages to the cover. Thank you very much for your videos which are very interesting.
You are so utterly creative and i love all your ideas. You were only a couple months in and i hit the subscribe button !! Can't wait to go and check out your other videos as well. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Lovely and creative work with you 😉😉 just enjoyed watching your video, thanks for sharing and inspiring to make it for myself because i also love to do embroidery 🪡❤
Your fun little project is very inspiring! You could use a cloth hinge to attach 2 pages together and then sew each set of pages into a spine or put string around the outside of the cover spine ( 1 string for each set of pages ) and just slip each page behind the string
What a wonderful way to use those bits and pieces that we all refuse to throw away. My favorite is the paintbrush. I am inspired to start mine tomorrow. The beetles are very cool!! Thanks again for the great video and the plethora of ideas. Cheers!
Such a lovely idea, I have various bits of jewellery and odd earrings I have been unable to part with. So now I know how to turn them into something very special. Thank you so much xxx
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for sharing your projects with us. I love your imaginative and creative ideas for the pages. Each one is different and amazing and I was very intrigued with your thought process as you designed each month. I could almost feel the stress leaving me as I watched. You are definitely talented and inspiring. Thank you for the time and effort you put into each video. I appreciate it all.
Your stitch book is incredible! My creative juices are flowing with desire to do one with my collection of bits and pieces 💕 Love your new channel - just found it and am thoroughly enjoying the videos. You are sooooo creative!! Thank you 🥰
I absolutely love this. Cannot wait to see the finished book. You have inspired me to make one for my daughter and granddaughter to keep in their treasure box. 😊 x

Don't give up on it Judy!
Hello Judy. I am 77 years from New Orleans, Louisiana. Sewing in any form has been a tonic.
I really enjoy this format, especially if it means we get to see more of your lovely work and creative inspiration! I have 50 years worth of bits and pieces hanging around that I will be looking at with a fresh eye. What a charming way to give the little pieces we’ve accumulated over the years a chance to shine!
This is a great way to use them Laura and still have them to look at!
How fun would it be to sit down in an afternoon and put together 12 kits of little paraphernalia for yourself and open them up monthly to do this project. Fun group project too. Either get together to slow stitch or trade kits.
I wish I'd thought of that last January Elizabeth! It would have been like having a birthday every month!!
Great idea, think I will do that.
This gives me a wonderful idea to make a book of some of my Mom's embroidery from a quilt that's over 50 years.

I couldn’t figure out how to make a slow stitch book without the back exposed and you explained it so clearly to me. Thank you.
Your stitching designs are so elegant and fun. Please continue to post in this format!
Oh, i love the bug!! Id love to have it made up in a hand tote/bag.
Your hands are Beautiful !❤
Your work is Beautiful !❤

Instead of a book, how about putting them in a frame so it can all be seen. They are all lovely. Thanks for sharing.

That's a great idea Terry, I might go that way! Then the pages won't be squashed up on one side...
Love this format, Sarah! I really like the idea of doing an embroidery book and will have to create one myself. Thank you for sharing!
