Guys, today it's been a year since I created the channel, and to celebrate I'm releasing a new version of Live at Pompeii, which is the 1974 theatrical version distributed to the American market. This new source was streamed on the ITsART website a few months ago, a one-off, for European viewers only, along with a documentary about the 50th anniversary of the recording sessions, featuring director Adrian Maben. Those who managed to record used a screen recording method and, as it was a live broadcast, there were some quality drops during the broadcast. In short, the quality isn't perfect (you may notice those quality drops and a blend/ghost motion effect) but it's the best source available so far for this epic movie.
I had to split the movie track by track, as the entire movie has a worldwide copyright block, similar to what happens with The Wall movie. Use the playlist and I hope you like it.
Thanks to everyone who supported the channel throughout this year, especially to the Patreon supporters.
Enjoy!

I love you
This is the greatest thing I have ever seen, and I have waited 46 years to see it.
Thank you.
Is there a chance to get the video file? In mkv or mp4 to improve the bitrate. Thanks for everything
@@yakuza76 I tried a couple online youtube downloaders til I found one that let me save the 2k stream, but found it wasn't really any clearer than the 1080, so stuck with that for now. Eventually when darkest peru freezes over they'll officially release this again, if it isn't all chopped up with new footage of tourists or something spliced in instead of footage of the band. I wish he would just leave it be and give us the thing we all love in high quality, instead of endlessly trying to George Lucas it into something else.
great job! congratulations! thanks!
Every time I listen to this masterpiece it hit different
so fucking right
Dave and Rick playing and singing together are the magic !
when your concert is so epic that only ancient souls can witness it
The cool thing about it is that kids rode their bikes and watched this concert from the fence/gates. The band greeted them too after their performances.
I thought I was the only one here
This is the greatest thing humans have ever done
not gonna lie, when i visited Pompeii and finally got to the stadium where they did this, I was of course amazed to be in a place that people had built ~2000 years previous but I was just as jazzed to stand right where Floyd performed this. mind blowing on both fronts.
How cool is that???
@@roscoepcoaltrain9869 like it doesn't seem to lend enough gravity to the situation to be standing in a stadium that people used when there folks running around who were afraid of the sun and stuff, and to somehow equate it with a cool rock band, but it is really something else to be there in person. If you have the means, I highly suggest going there.
@adamcoe show me which one is you in the video when they perform?
Same!
I just sat down in the shade of the arena and listened through the whole recording. Fantastic experience.
Never quite understood why Echoes, not so much Meddle the album but the cut, wasn't and isn't better known. Certainly at over 22 minutes it presented a bit of challenge to most radio station formats. But Echoes imo is the blue print of the Pink Floyd sound that ensued. A haunting yet harmonious poem set against a gentle background of David’s economy of guitar notes and Richard’s keyboard melody. At just the precise moment Roger and Nick tie it all together the way a florist uses baby’s breath in producing her bouquet of flowers
These guys were and still are light years ahead of music, on sound and lyrics. It’s out of this world for real….
Most Floyd fans no all there stuff
Great description, but was it really not better known? For a song that came before Dark Side I think it was well know in the circle of Floyd listeners. Considering the fact that it was their encore song I think up until the Wish You Were Here tour
Noice
What if the florist is a man?
May be their personalities never quite meshed but musically they so perfectly compliment each other. Just see how superbly Waters and Mason work together.
It seems like they definitely meshed early on, but by the time Syd was out, Waters took the opportunity to be the serious businesslike one about everything. Makes sense that they'd find that very useful, bc in those days every band needed a fighter to deal with management, labels, promoters, etc all trying to control & sponge off them, but man when he turned up the heat on the other guys in the studio during Dark Side and never turned it down again, it's pretty amazing how long they remained a functioning band with him thinking it was over, & then did all their most popular work after that lol No wonder Nick always jokes about how a completely crazy surprising their success was.
waters and mason always brings their songs into the best groovy parts, which is why i like this song and shine on you crazy diamond 6-9 so much
@@Spuzzmacher without Waters vision and drive it's debatable we'd be having this discussion.
@@heftosprod we wouldn’t be
Nice to see somebody talking about mason and waters as musicians. The conversation is far more often on the Gilmour is a bigger god that anyone' and that he's nicer than Roger. Oh and Rick. He's there too. But yes here's the unit of legend.
this is probably my most favourite song by Pink Floyd I could be having the worst day ever and I'll listen to this and all of a sudden it feels like I'm floating
My favo too. When walking the sea shore by the red sea I always had it in my head.
E i Pink Floyd sono terapeutici. Anch'io quando ho una giornata "no" gli ascolto.
Pink Floyd is an integral part of me, shine on.
Normally my drive to work takes about 15 minutes. When I listen to this song it takes 23.
Watching live at Pompeii on acid is a life changing experience!
This is one of the best on location musical pieces ever recorded.
perfect music in the perfect location
“A concert for the dead” is what they wanted
dAMN foookin right, beeeeeyatch! It sets the standard. It set the bar. And for years it stood there, waiting for someone to challenge it. Which,
...of course Justin Bieber did. But it took a long time.
JUSTIN BIEBER IS THE NEW FLOYD!
I'd totally smoke his pole. Cept....I'm not a Bud Light-drinkin batty-boy.
Well, usually not.
Sometimes though, if I'm feelin a bit daffy, I will indeed put on my mum's old fox-fur coat and grease up my pencil with hog lard. But that's rare! And it only happens occasionally! DON'T JUDGE ME, SWINE!
In 2015 I visited a Live in Pompeii exhibition organised by a couple of Italians in the town centre. I had a chat with one of them and he told me the story of when he and a couple of friends skipped school in 1971 and snuck into the amphitheatre during filming. If you look closely at the top left window at 9:26 and again at 9:53, you can see a couple of heads moving around and peeking out. Apparently the film crew were completely unaware anyone was watching.
worth skipping school for
Such a cool story.
Best Floyd song ever!
Some folks I know who are bit younger than me are jealous that I was born in 1973 so was at the right age to see bands like Soundgarden, Faith No More, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails to name a few when they were at their peak in the late 80's to early 90s. It was a great time to be that age in that period, but sometimes I wish I could have been that age to see the likes of Floyd, Hendrix, Sabbath and Zeppelin and many more classic bands and artists like them during that late 60's to early 70's era. They will always be the greats!
To be able to play in a place where for centuries peoples of different times sat on those steps, it just blows my mind.
Where is it
@@user-bx6zr6my4d Some ancient Roman amphitheater in Pompeii, Italy
This is absolutely the best driving late at night cross country music ever.
5:52 - the iconic finger-smashing guitar solo
Watching this in high quality gives it another energy. Feels like i'm watching for the first time. Thanks so much for uploading this!
You are.
Your subconscious mind can't be fooled.
You've never seen or heard this computer version.
Computers play the bass tones 1st and the trebles last.

2024, and What the world needs now is more Pink Floyd! You are the unity. Music brings humanity together!
9:24 i've been playing guitar for like 10 years but i haven't realize how much a powerful instrument it truly is until I saw that part, damn! these waves of distorsion emerging form the wall of amps, reverberating through the empty ruines are just majestic.
I LOVE Pink Floyd! 🙂
Whaaat??? Only 13 comments!! For one of the best recordings ever! Wow.
Thank you so much for sharing this!❤💎
No, this is the reverse tones version.
Computers run electricity in the reverse way.
You can't even tell the difference.
un capolavoro che piu lo senti e piu diventa onirico portandoti dentro di se facendoti toccare il cielo con un dito poesia celestiale puro quando lo sento io vedo la luce.......

The Year I was born '74.thanks pink Floyd.🔅🧶🍓
putting an ad before the guitar solo is a crime against humanity
this looks incredible! better than the old dvd i have, hope they re scan the movie at 4k and widescreen or at least release this cut on bluray! have been waiting for years for that!
Sadly, the original film cans were all incinerated by the company that ended up in possession of them.
Roger and I did another, much better version of this the week after but we're still in court over it, having disagreements about whether to release it or not.
He says "No" and I say "Yes".
Still got all the 'Floyd LPs. Smoked my way thru college listening to them.
Pink Floyd music always made me visualise landscapes. The Gilmour era that is.
These guys and other musicial geniuses are they only thing that keep me sane in this crazy ass world we live in.
Bless you for these uploads!
Beautiful
Um vídeo desse não merece propaganda do UA-cam 😢
I just discovered your channel. Thanks for all your work, remastering these old masterpieces. This is awesome, keep on this line.
This is so good. Thanks for sharing 🙏
This is fantastic. They re-did the original version in 4K and not the crappy “director’s cut.” I had no idea. I guess I will have to buy this because my DVD does not have this clarity and the original cut is buried in the menu. Thanks for posting!
They never released this version. This is all done by the uploader with AI!
Mira como le hace el amor a la guitarra, es epico
Thanks for uploading
I have this on DVD, this is such an amazing event and loved seeing the back room stuff.

around 20 years ago when i was in uni, my roomates and I used to get really high, put on this song, and play tetris together.
séloco, domingo de manhã, cheiro de café passado, ouvindo essa obra prima.
a vida eh sinistra, de fato.
I wanted to maybe once bring my ex-girlfriend now to pompeii so we could visit this place and listen to echoes together. We broke up and i still think about her everyday and have been for 7 months. I really took her on a deep dive into pink floyd and miss her badly :/
Golden childhood memories fans 🎉❤🎉 never stop believe in, never give up spreading good vibes of a kind & love PINK inspirations..visit Pompeii for the occasion.. we never learn to live in good harmony with the environment, any time could happen another tragedy of a violent vulcanic eruption😢😢😢
