Snakes are ok, I like all animals, so I never hurt them, but I do mess with them like you do and observe them, I think that reel is perfect for shore/ surf fishing too
Hands down my favorite review! The snakes are my favorite part. I go catch them from other peoples property that don't want them and release them on my property. This one is definitely going on my community page.
😲 Richard! We have those snakes around too. Every year Tom finds a skin in our shed -- he's NOT a fan. 🤣 I like knowing they're around since I live so close to the lake and yeah, copperheads. 😵💫 BTW-- Great review!
I've been having trouble casting mine far so I re-watched and found you were casting 6 ounces. My heaviest weights are 3 ounces so I'll have to upgrade my weights and maybe my rod.
And back to the review lol That reel looks like it’ll get you to the deep water. Those snakes can sure get aggressive when cornered but really just want to go find a mouse or egg
yea it should get out there for sure, can't wait to hook up on it! I should just leave them snakes be but I've always liked playing with em, kinda fascinating
I`m looking at the Penn Warfare 20 without the level wind . It`s a conventional reel . I catfish, Alligator gar fish and go to the coast . I want the extra casting distance and the muscle to pull in big fish . I found a combo for about $140. I seen guys cast some of those reels about 100 yards.
Love looking at snakes for sure. I tried one of those reels, but i had an issue with the release snapping back into place not allowing me to cast. I know it was me whipping it, but i never got the hang of it. Saying squirrel when your attention gets diverted is not the right animal. More like, snake and then you walk off. I'm thay way with most animals also. Great review brother.
Great review. I’m like you with the snakes, and my wife is like yours. I looked out the front window one night and a rat snake was staring back at me. I stepped outside to look and he had made it up and was going along the top of the front door. I started to leave him but, my wife leaves for work at 3am. I could just see here stepping through the door and that snake dropping around her neck. I would have thought it was funny but, she would have laid right there and died. So I relocated him to the wood line. God bless.
Question - I just got this reel for my son. When he casts it what often happens is the bail closes on his without him doing anything in particular. Its almost as if the movement of the rod closes the bail. I cant figure out if there is a sensitivity setting I should tinker with? Does anyone else have this issue?
That is a common problem, and yes it's the force of casting that makes the reel engage. He can try putting his finger on the handle to keep it from moving during a cast.. or try putting the handle forward before casting, that will help stop some of the centrifugal force... or try holding the rod in different positions during a cast. Unfortunately no, there are no adjustments on the reel that will stop it. Hope that helps.. thanks for watching!
I just got one myself and I think it’s from the handle spinning while casting closing the bail It has a little wiggle but if you take that out by reeling enough it might fix it
I was kind of thinking the same thing.. I'm still on the fence about it. Right now given the choice I'll take the Mariner all day. Maybe it would be better for dragging, suspending, or pulling planers or something instead of Long casting. Taking it to the river tonight to give it a good work out, we'll see. Thanks bro 👊🏻
great review, but keep the snakes away no way if that thing got up on my roof I probably burn the house down. I hope I dont get a warning for saying that like I did on fb over spiders
😂🤣 yea I know a bunch of folks feel about the same way.. and yea you can't say anything anymore with out someone getting upset.. or giving ya warnings. I appreciate you and thanks for watching!
I know what ya mean! Mice are bad out in the barn, I like having the rat snakes around. They are better than cats at rodent control! Thanks for watching!

Have heard great things about the warfare reels.. I've never used a non level wind either supposed to cast a mile! Let me know how you like it!
Creole playing with sharks, now here you are playing with snakes! You TouTubers are a Wild bunch😂 good Video and review Richard!
Thank ya! Yea we're a different breed for sure lol although the shark is much cooler than a rat snake 🐍 🤣. Appreciate ya bud 👊🏻

"I see something shiny, gotta go check it out" 😆 🤣
😂🤣 yea I got a little A.D.D
Great review didnt seem like it was the smoothest casting reel. How do you think it stacks against the mariner reel?
