    I have same graph but with a Scotty mount .... I'd never put screws driven into bottom of kayak, there's constant pressure, movement and shifting in plastic when paddling or heck ... Even just sitting in water. Yes, putting silicone is a temporary fix but it's a band aid fix.

    • @BassSniper
      @BassSniper  Рік тому +1

      Letting the silicone cure properly is key… heck, I’ve forgotten that I even did that. And I’ve NEVER taken on water. You’re right though, it is risky business

      U could get a second hand echomap.. atleast go for a 9'''screen.. 7 is just so small.. I bought a 9'' echomap (older one) for my first fishfiner.. cost about 400 bucks back then.. better then getting a smaller striker.. Sold that one and got one that was livescope ready.. livescope is the best thing thouhg.. if u want to catch big fish.. Id spend a bit more to get a screen that can atleast do it.. lots of lvs32 ducers going on the second hand market now when people are upgrading.. more and more..

    Like your video. I have Striker Plus 7SV I bought a couple years ago. Th GPS mapping works great. I fish mainly on a small watershed lake which is not very deep; 4-8ft and about 12-14ft in the deepest areas. My transducer is mounted on my trolling motor. Looks like you are using Chirp? Have you determined what frequency is best? I troll about 1 - 3mph and would like to figure the best screen sweep for that speed too.

    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
