I have same graph but with a Scotty mount .... I'd never put screws driven into bottom of kayak, there's constant pressure, movement and shifting in plastic when paddling or heck ... Even just sitting in water. Yes, putting silicone is a temporary fix but it's a band aid fix.
Letting the silicone cure properly is key… heck, I’ve forgotten that I even did that. And I’ve NEVER taken on water. You’re right though, it is risky business
That was a nice video I brought the 9sv 2 years ago love it way better than the Lowrance I used to own 1 Everything you said was true it works great right out the Box Awesome video keep up the good work
Great video. I bought one about six months ago put it on my boat last week and went out in the lake yesterday for the first time great video on describing what you’re seeing on the bottom keep it up and do some more videos you got a thumbs up from me, the ark with yellow on the screen is definitely fish! ❤
Thanks bro. Either will work. It’s small enough for the small one in my opinion. The Ram mounts are really good and stable. Shouldn’t have any problem. But if you wanted to be absolutely sure, go with the bigger one.
Yes. But if you know anything about wiring, I think it’s pretty straight forward. But yeah, they should assume it’s everyone’s first time and give clear instructions
What is your other option? I ended up getting a pro series Lowrance for a steal so I no longer use it. But for the time I did have it I loved it! Honestly the only thing that I really felt like I upgraded by getting the pro series was touchscreen and 2 inches bigger. I still stand by the Striker 7 as hands down the best at that price point.
Hey buddy, loved the video. Knowledgeable and funny. I just bought this for my kayak. Should be here in a couple of days. Since the video was made. Do you have any more tips on the Garmin? Thanks buddy
Actually no, I can’t think of anything that isn’t pretty much talked about in the video. Sorry, but let me know how you like it when it comes. Oh, try and mount your transducer with no obstructions for the best views (side scan)
@@BassSniper I got the yak attack cell block with the switchblade arm so all the wiring and stuff will be secured in that unit, mounted on my side gear track.

Hey thanks! There’s a waypoint button at the bottom on the front of the unit. Also there is a “waypoints map” option in the main menu page. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!!
U could get a second hand echomap.. atleast go for a 9'''screen.. 7 is just so small.. how do you like the catch power 100? how do you steer it down the bank and fish at the same time? thaqts kind of whats stopping me from purchasing the catch power
It’s cool. I usually fish spots or drift the bank of I want to cover water on the bank. The only steering I have is the transom behind me. Sometimes I set the reverse speed behind me to not drift so fast on a windy day
Like your video. I have Striker Plus 7SV I bought a couple years ago. Th GPS mapping works great. I fish mainly on a small watershed lake which is not very deep; 4-8ft and about 12-14ft in the deepest areas. My transducer is mounted on my trolling motor. Looks like you are using Chirp? Have you determined what frequency is best? I troll about 1 - 3mph and would like to figure the best screen sweep for that speed too.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
