I've only seen a small part of this massive province, but everything I've seen in Hebei has been just wonderful. Plus, I love potato, so Hebei will always have a special place in my heart
Wow, your video is even imformative to Chinese! I only know about Hebei's iron factories produce iron more than the world combined, and impressed by the pollution( the most air pollution in China). We also know Hebei about its historic view spots, but your video shows the natural beauty I've never imagined!
You are incredibly inspiring. The joy and curiosity you share so openly allows me to dream about travel with wonder instead of worry. Thank you so much for what you do!❤
Amy, I think the place you went in this video is the northern part of hebei province. Actually Hebrides province is very different in its northern part and southern part. The northern part of Hebei is on the north of Beijing, and it is sparely populated indeed. The scenery there is similar to Inner Mongolia, full of plateaus, grasslands, forests and a lot of mountains. But the southern part of hebei, which is on the south of Beijing, is actually one of the most populated area in China. The southern part belongs to Huabei flatland. And also I think you made a mistake about the population of Hebei. It is 70 millions, not 35 millions. The southern part of hebei is actually similar to Shandong culturally. The southern part is more of a farming culture while the northern part is more of a nomadic culture.
thank you for putting tw in your Chinese map. Some westerners think it's politics, but for an ordinary Chinese, it really makes people feel more friendly.Bless you
Jonathan Fairbank Actually, Taiwanese dont acknowledge the existence of ROC. So your conceit is ridiculous. Learn more about Chinese history before you join the discussion plz. FYI, it's wansui not wanshui. Thank you for your willingness to learn Chinese btw
Jonathan Fairbank yeah, tell Taiwanese about that plz. The constitution of ROC says that sovereignty include mainland and Mongolia. tell the troops get their job done plz. You may be a Sinologist, but you don't seem to be that famous. LOL. just kidding. no offence.
I love your cheerful and positive attitude. I took a China tour last year and am planning another one this year. China is so big and has so many places to explore and 56 different ethnic groups to check out. I’ve gotten the China bug from your videos and others
I was born in HeBei, Han Dan. It's very difficult to find a place like this in China. Most populated areas are packed with people, buildings, and pollution. Rarely do you see blue skies and trees. I assume you had to go pretty far out to find such a place, if only China kept it's environment.
So true!!! Yeah, it wasn't so easy to find, and there isn't much tourism information about places like this either, so it's hard to access some of these beautiful places in China unless you're willing to take some risks
Hats off to the Native Americans who discovered and domesticated potatoes and corns and explorers that introduced these amazing plants(food) to the whole world.

Hebei is a complex province of China. The Republic of China used to be called Zhili, which means it is under the jurisdiction of the central government. In history, Hebei Province has no provincial capital for a long time. With the founding of New China, it began to slowly break away from the central government and become a province. The good land in Hebei is Beijing and Tianjin, but both cities are municipalities. Hebei has to abandon these two cities and re-select a city as its own provincial capital. In addition, although Hebei Province is very large, there is no unified dialect in this province, and there is no uniform food. The southern part of the city is affected by Henan, and Zhangjiakou and Chengde are affected by Inner Mongolia. The cities in the north of Hebei were independent provinces during the Republic of China. They were called Suiyuan or Chahar, and they were all independent provinces. There is another reason. The geographical location of Hebei Province, Hebei is located in the northern part of the North China Plain. It is a staggered area between the farming area and the nomadic area. The mountain is in the north and the plain in the south. The Great Wall separates these areas here. The Shanhaiguan in the east is entering China. The must-have place in the northeast. Therefore, the city in the east is a little northeast, and the city in the west is very similar to Shanxi. Therefore, there are many yuan in this area, so in history, regardless of whether the farming nation established a state power or the nomadic nobility entered the Central Plains, Beijing will be the capital. This is also the reason. However, because of the capital, Hebei Province had to sacrifice its own development to supply Beijing's development. In China's Hebei Province, the economy is at the middle level, it will not develop too well, and it will not develop too badly. In short, this is a unique and lonely province. This is my understanding of Hebei Province and I hope to help others.
