Alexis this is your niche! How WONDERFUL and CREATIVE this blog is! Thank you :) Hope you do more of these ! I personally love alone time, fun and exploring ! But I am a HUGE introvert ! Love the way you edited this one and the being in school idea.
Yes do a series please. When I was over there in July I was walking around the Upper West Side and I suddenly thought wouldn't it be funny if I saw Alexis somewhere, I would've definitely said hello. I actually walked past Cure Thrift and it looked really interesting, but it was early morning and it wasn't open yet. Exploring places on your own is such fun and a real confidence builder.
OMGoodness this format, the editing, history class - THEEE best vlog - I love it so much so glad you are making it a series! Especially for those of us that havent been to new york and may want to visit one day! ALEXIS this was sooo good!
Hi Alexis, as a new viewer,I just spent my weekend binge watching your videos. While I was watching "How to Grow on UA-cam in 2023", I got a "AHA" moment. Have you ever considered going back to your Alma Mater to do a talk on what you shared in the video. I learned so much and I know the real students will learn so much real knowledge on how to survive in NYC 👍.
The white thick topping on the matcha sunny side could be cheese foam (which is why you might have hated the first taste lol). Some boba places have started making it a topping.
I am obsessed with every ounce of this format. This feels so distinct. So enjoyable. The history , the call out to gentrification. Hearing from future Alexis. Watching you go about your day. One of the most enjoyable things I’ve watched 🎉
I was very fortunate to live in the EV for 3 years from '05-'08 on East 3rd between 1st & 2nd Avenue. I loved it. Glad you are doing these videos so people can see what life is like in the various NYC neighborhoods present day.
You need to make more of these videos! I loved the way you meshed a vlog and an urban/ history tour. I did my masters at NYU, so this day in the East Village (I used to live in alphabet city) was a literal trip down memory lane. Keep it up!
Cool video!🙌🏼 I was grew up in the east village. Born on 1st street, moved to 3rd btw 1&2 ave, the home of the Hell Angels then lived on 5th street btw A & B forever ~ Definitely changed since I lived there.
I loved this video, I am from California but live in Sweden and people are always asking if I have been various places by like you said it’s so easy to get comfortable where you are and do the usual when such interesting history is right near you!
Great VLOG! I'm so glad you ventured out. I do that with my photography as well and go on photo walks in different neighborhoods. I really appreciated the tour! Series is a good idea.
I loved this Alexis! I am a long time viewer and so enjoyed the tour. I come to NYC every few months from NC just to do what you just did...explore new areas of greatest city in the world. Can you do Washington Heights soon?
This was such a fun and informative video! I had no idea about the neighborhood history or general NY history (which blew my mind). Please keep doing this series! Tbh I will watch any video you post - love getting a glimpse into your life and getting to spend time following you are in your day to day!
the east village is my personal favorite!!! im sadly not a native new yorker but every time im in the city the east village just calls to me!! and to hear that it housed a large number of latino and puertorican diaspora made everything click !! 💗🇵🇷 yes to making this a series + i love the lil class bits!!
I don’t see anyone mentioning it, but I believe the foam at the top of your matcha may have been cheese foam. As a self proclaimed boba connoisseur, this is popular at a lot of gourmet boba shops. Some people (me) drink it like a cold foam and others will mix it like you did! I’m enjoying watching you try new matchas 😊
This video is sooo fun! I'm from the Midwest and would love to visit New York someday! Thank you for the history and reccomendations! Saving this video for future travels.🎉🎉❤❤
LOVE the East Village and yess you should definitely get a Tompkins Square Bagel next time! Plus there's a place called Ray's Candy Store that's opposite TSP that's a NY institution - 90 year old Ray still works in the store today and their specialty is deep fried oreos if you're ever in the mood.. St. Mark's is also a really cool area to visit if you're ever in the East Village again - some cool food spots and bars there. Love this series and excited to see where you explore next!
Loved this style video! Love the history lesson especially! I live in NYC too and omg my day would be made if I ran into you in the street since you seem so sweet, cool, and a good friend. 😊
Being able and willing to do stuff on your own is definitely a life skill and a life pleasure! I'm very pleased that you're learning that while you're young 😊👍
Loved this vlog & you showing us more of NY. I have never seen the east side (or any of it but the airport). Yes, next time get the bagel & show us & enjoy the park in the morning-bagels are so good! Our daughter Leah would love the Japanese stationary shop (she plans to go to Japan next year) and the matcha/boba tea place. What was the fake “egg” 🍳 made of? Yes, we all need to discover more of what’s in our own backyard & do more fun things, even alone-like me here in the Kansas City, Missouri area. So much to do & see. Great vlog.
I love this video! Your opinions are funny, honest and fair! I am the same way I spend more time talking myself into things…then spend time talking myself out of them!! I miss out on a lot of experiences just because I don’t have another person with me 😢. I hear about the Ltrain thrift in those videos that ask people on the street what and where did they get their clothing! Thanks ❤️
Hi Alexis happy Friday afternoon and happy weekend and I loved your grwm vlogs and this was amazing video I enjoy your channel because you are amazing Supporter
Hi Alexis, what a cute twist on your regular vlogging. I have asked twice (today will be 3 times). There is a commercial on tv for Daisy cottage cheese. The actress in the commercial looks alot like you. Have you ever done a commercial for Daisy cottage cheese? Please reply. Thanks!
My ancestors are actually buried in the east village, someone who thought they were the last direct descendant permanently sealed the entrance of their vault with cement.. so we will never be able to enter the grave.. but it’s there.

There's a very famous photo of writer Jack Kerouac walking past Tompkins Square Park back in the '50s. It's a cool piece of NYC literary history.
LOVE the East Village and yess you should definitely get a Tompkins Square Bagel next time! My ancestors are actually buried in the east village, someone who thought they were the last direct descendant permanently sealed the entrance of their vault with cement.. so we will never be able to enter the grave.. but it’s there.
woah! that's a shame you can't enter, but i'm glad you know it is there!
