Hey Alexis!! Thanks for sharing your heart at the end there. I think it's awesome that you're moving in with friends. Community is so valuable and enriching and I think having these people close to you will add a lot to your life! Lots of laughs, conversations, and hopefully a caring, listening ear when you need it too. Yes there's value to being alone and being secure in yourself enough to do that, and there's also value in having close, enriching relationships and community. I'm glad you can be grateful for both! Wishing you the best in your new home!!
Some people always have something to be judgemental about. If you're alone, you're antisocial. If you're living with people, you're codependent. She clearly has a lot of amazing friends and people in her life who are very supportive and some people are jealous of that because it's a rare and lucky thing to have. How can anyone think having roommates is codependent? It's good to have friends you can rely on. It's good to have family you can rely on. Being all alone by yourself doing everything with no one to help is not a virtue. It's lonely.
@@andrea1004 You had me in the first half. I agree that people always have something to be judgmental about. It seems like people just love to attack anyone who isn't validating their life choices. But the reason why some people think having roommates all the time is codependent because, well, sometimes it is. It depends on the individual and their personality. You can have friends and family to rely on without actuslly living with those friends and family. Sharing a roof with someone is not what makes them reliable. As a matter of fact, plenty of folks live with friends and family and they are completely unreliable. I love living alone and doing things for myself because I can make sure that it's exactly the way I like it and I'm not constantly compromising at every turn, which can lead to manipulative and abusive behavior from roommates. I'm speaking from experience. I've lived on my own for years now, and I'm never lonely. So again, it's about the individual and what works for them.
I’m sorry you feel like you have to even explain your choice…. It’s your life… I’m excited for this new chapter and appreciate anything you choose to share! ✨🫶🏻 Congrats to you and B🐈 on the new place!
My daughter found your channel when you adopted your cat & we’ve been watching your vlog together (she’s 8) ever since. Take it from an old lady, living alone or with friends, it doesn’t matter. Choose the living situation that works for you. You’re doing great. We wish you all the best on your new adventure & are excited to see what you post next.
There is only so much time one has with friends who are in similar stages of life. I think you’re so smart for this move. Living alone is great, but you will never regret this time living with people you care about. It goes by so fast! ❤
Girl, I am 31 and I’m living with my aunt who is basically my roommate. Don’t let the Muggles get you down! You have to do what’s best for you and it’s always nice having people around. I am SO EXCITED to see this next chapter for you unfold! ❤
It's crazy how people get into personal stuff without even knowing you! I'm glad to see you happy in your new place Alexis, life is about evolving, adapting and learning with every step we take. Thank you very much for sharing a little piece of your life with us. I send you a big hug from Argentina ♥
Soooo many people see independence as only being successful if you do it alone, but independence can (and really should!) look like knowing what kind of support suits you best. You can be independent with 10 roommates or be independent and live in a house by yourself in the middle of nowhere. It's just about knowing who you are and being okay with that looking different from someone else and that's exactly what you're doing. :)
Agreed. I would also add that a lot of folks seeking success alone do so in order to present themselves as the best choice when looking for a mate. So they may pursue success alone, but only want it that way until they reach a certain point.
Your last two moving vlogs have been the most realistic moving vlogs I've ever seen. I hate seeing moving vlogs that consist of people somewhat organizing stuff and then suddenly being moved into their new place like it's magic. They never show the absolute stress that the night before involves. Thanks for being so transparent with us. ❤
As humans we are meant to love and be loved 🥰 - apart of many cultures is living with family, why is it so hard for people to accept that for some this is the best choice to thrive! have the landlord take care of the radiator nois Bleeding your radiators will release any air that may be trapped inside. When air gets into your heating system, it can cause a banging noise because it increases the pressure in the system. Releasing pressure by bleeding the pipes of excess air can stop the banging noise from occurring.
It’s so easy to self-isolate when you live alone- I just moved back in with a roommate due to finances and an unexpected perk is that I can’t hide away from the entire world in my cave for several days at a time. We need community and it’s healthy to want to live with other people! Happy for you❤
Self-isolation is a great tool for maintaining my mental health, so it shouldn't be considered an inherently negative thing. It seems like it's a very Western perspective to assume that it is bad. But it certainly isn't for everyone. Living alone is perfect for me, and I definitely feel as if I'm a part of a community as well. I don't need to share a roof with someone in order to get that sense of belonging. But clearly for others, living with someone else is something they need in order to feel that way.
I love, love, love the new place. Once everyone is moved in hopefully we’ll see the living room and full set up. Right now your room looks lovely and cozy, and Bennett is loving it. Hoped the noise from the radiator stops. Remember when the upstairs leaked on your bar cart. 😟 Blessings for you and your roommates on this new adventure.
I'm surprised so many people would quickly judge you for moving back in with roommates. I felt like you explained it well enough at the beginning of the series. I'm so so excited for you!
Those who love your content will love it no matter where you live. You did what you had to do for yourself and no one should judge because they don't know everything going on in your life. So please just keep doing what your doing you are so entertaining and I love watching your videos!

I lived in a studio for two years, and was so blown away at how much better I started sleeping after moving into a one bedroom! It’s really tough to sleep in the same space you live and work in all day. I’m so glad you’re feeling positive about the change! 😊
Yay!!! I couldn't tell if you got one or not but definitely recommend a waterproof mattress cover - protects against bed bugs, Bennett pee, etc! Also shoutout to you for moving all by yourself - every NYC move I've done (3 now) I've had my parents help, I would be so stressed doing it alone!
Journal entry: “Life is not linear…change the course of your life…it’s ok!” Thank you, needed that. So many people judge 🙄 Carry on, you’re life’ing just beautifully! 🥰
Hi Alexis, I’ve been watching your videos for about 2 years but have always been too shy to comment. Thank you for sharing so many parts of your life with us, the ups and downs. Life is constantly changing and it can be a struggle to navigate it all but you’re doing an amazing job! I’m sorry some people have made you feel bad in one way or another about moving in with friends after living alone for a while. No one has the right to tell you how to live your life and what “progress” is because that’s for you to decide not anyone else. From what I’ve seen you’re a strong person and have grown a lot in the last couple years, that’s something I hope you feel really good about. Yes we can always work towards improving something but take this as a reminder of the all things you have already accomplished. By the way, congrats on 50k subscribers!!! I can’t wait to see all the exciting videos you plan to make moving forward.
Hi Alexis, I lived in NYC for 14 years and I commend you for moving in with friends. The Upper West Side is expensive and an increase in rent of $400/mo over two years is huge. Also, the scaffolding would have driven me crazy as well. I tried living with roommates once in NYC and it was a disaster so I lived alone the majority of time I was there. But I always maintained that if you find/create a good roommate situation in NYC, it really does increase your quality of life a great deal. I think this move is good for you all the way around. You seem a lot happier already.
Just a PSA, you can have your laundry picked up and dropped off if you’re doing wash/fold services at a lot of places in nyc! For me it was the same price as dropping it off and picking it up but I would tip the delivery person! It’s so worth it
I feel like the living on your own as an adult thought is such a US way of thinking . In a lot of countries, people have roommates for years or live at home with family… in Scandinavian countries, the happiest countries in the world, they have housing where nonrelated families live together and share their living spaces, and this is with kids. Humans are social creatures, and I think it’s great that you know yourself and know that living with friends will benefit your life and your mental health. I am very introverted, but when I have lived alone, it’s lonely. Just knowing there are other human friends just outside a door is kind of comforting. Enjoy your new place!
Once you let the air out of the hot radiator, you can turn down the heat and the sound should be gone. If not, there might not be enough water (if it is a water heater) in the system. Then your landlord needs to fill it up. Had that in my old flat too. Once he did that, it was quiet :)
As someone who lived alone for 3 years and then moved into an apartment with my best friend, it was such an amazing experience for me to have both that time to grow solo and then build on that with my friend. Even without my own personal experience that was positive I would still completely support your decision, it's your life and you get to make the decisions that work best for you! We are privileged to get a snippet of your life and by no means should anyone feel like they can pass judgment on that. At the end of the day it is your life and you know yourself way better than anyone on the internet. (also I'm super excited for some roommate content and I'm sure Bennett is going to love having the extra attention - when he decides he wants it of course because cats will be cats haha)
You don't need to explain to anyone why or what you do. It's your life, I totally get it! Enjoy this new chapter with your friends in your new location! Good luck! It's exciting!
I love your moving videos. Just so real, funny, and entertaining! And that kitchen! You could get an amazing island to add counter space and even some stools for seating! Love it! Can’t wait to see it as it comes along! Congrats on the new place and the new roomies. I actually enjoyed living with a roommate because you aren’t alone, but at the same time, I had a period of time in between roommates years ago when I was alone, and it was pretty cool. But also pretty expensive since I was still in need of one to fill the extra bedroom!! Haha! But don’t ever apologize for roommates! For crying out loud you are in your 20’s in a big city- it’s good to be with people! Especially those you can have fun with! Do what you want when you are single and don’t have a family of your own! This is the time to just live how you want!
Congrats again on the move. Do whatever makes you happy, because at the end of the day what brings you happiness and peace of mind is more important to you then anyone else’s opinions. I am excited for more of this series and see how you and your roommates decorate the new space. I know Bennett will acclimate just fine. Lots of love to you! ❤️
Your twenties are a time to enjoy s life with peers. I miss the life I had with friends during my twenties. Life becomes so complicated in later years that people don't hang out as much. Enjoy your time with your friends because it also serves as a barrier for you to avoid settling to be with some guy cause your lonely!!! Obviously the roommate thing can some additional stress but you have a cat and a bedroom that you love. You did fine!!!
You’re YOUNG! Have FUN! Be with friends! Make memories! Save money! Enjoy life! Ignore the crappy comments! You made the choice that YOU felt is what you needed to do. That’s all that matters ❤
Piece of Cake.. is a great name for a moving company in NYC 😸; because moving can be so so stressful.. I'll definitely recommend this moving company to a few friends that I know that are in the transition of moving..
You are in New York City! As someone who prefers to live alone, not having roommates in the city is weirder to me. It is important for everyone to live alone and learn how to be with yourself which you have! Living with other people doesn't mean that you won't still have solo time and be able to sit with yourself alone. Congrats on your new place!
I lived on my own, lived with roommates, this is life. At the moment you may need the company, benefits are that you have people to hang with, do things with, have heart to hearts with, create with, bounce ideas off of, set boundaries with, not worry about every noise, oh and close your door if you need to. Life is ebb and flow. Every experience allows us to learn more about ourselves. All the best look forward to more growth and exciting opportunities for you.
Living with roommates as an adult is incredibly common in big cities. It's frustrating people tried to make you feel bad for this. Have they never watched Friends?! Or Big Bang Theory?
It's also happening in other forms now due to the housing crisis. I saw a UA-cam video about a year ago about 3 friends who pulled their money together in Texas to buy a house. It's 3 women who are all in their late 30s and 40s and have children (they're a mix of single and divorced). They decided to go the Golden Girls route and buy a house together to raise their kids and not be at the whim of landlords and their rent hikes. I say it's a great way to get around the housing crisis and the bogus rental apartment fees.
Your life, im 51 it doesnt come with a handbook, unfortunately. Live and learn! As long as youre comfortable in your life, because ultimately you have to live with your choices. I found out yrs ago, you cant please everybody! ❤🎉 good luck in everything u do!!❤
I'm proud of you for making a move that works for you. Idk why people have such an issue with you living your life how you want or need to. You're doing great and I think this is going to be a great experience for you. Sorry people brought negativity to this experience. I'm rooting for you ❤️
Looking forward to this new moving series. Your last moving series was how I found your channel. Also this apartment looks amazing, looking forward to see what you make of it.
Alexis! You get to decide where and with whom you live. Screw people’s opinions. You share your life w strangers. They don’t get to have an opinion unless you ask. Thank you for sharing NYC and your journey.
I think its awesome that you are so lucky to have such a great friend support, people that are there for you no matter what. keep doing you boo boo. don't let people make you feel bad for living your life the way you want. period.
Making a sensible decision is 100% an upgrade!! Don’t worry if others don’t agree! If you’re someone who is social as well, it makes so much sense to share an apartment and save yourself money. It’s a no brainer.
The heat can be all the way on or all the way off; no in between! It actually can lead to an explosion of dangerous hot steam when tenants play around with half on half off over time. This happened in my apt building and the valve actually blew off like a geyser and the fire dept had to come;life in the big city lol Wishing you and Bennett many blessings and much Zen in your new space😊
i also just moved from a studio back in with roommates - i totally get what you mean. it took a toll on me in a weird way and being around people is what we want and need right now!
Living alone would be horrible for my mental health and my sanity so I get wanting to have roommates! sometimes its necessary for you and it makes the most sense. Also the lighting in this place is stunning! and that kitchen is huge!!
I think it's awesome that you are on a new chapter in Your Life. And sharing an apartment with your buds is bonus! Some people are so quick to judge others. Lives! Love n Light ❤
I completely understand what you mean. I like being alone, but then I like being around other people, it makes me feel secure, and it's comforting to know they're there. Everyone lives like this, going out to see friends when they need company and then staying in alone when they can't people anymore. You're just doing it on a smaller scale, but the principles are the same.
Lol I remember when I first moved into my nyc apartment and the heat made the pipes clank all the time! I thought something was wrong. It never got better but eventually I got used to it, sleeping was hard at first!!
I am with you- I could certainly not live alone. The few times I did were only a few months span and I either always had someone over or was somewhere else. Do what is right for you!
oh my goodness, the fact that you are living your dream inNYC and sharing your journey with us is amazing! people are so quick to pass judgement instead of looking about their own lives...chin up lovely, living with other people is great and by no means a backslide
Alexis, your choices are your own. Adding good people to your life sounds like an excellent move, and I'm super excited to see what the coming months bring for you. Once again, thank you for sharing. ❤️
Regarding the radiator, you probably need to air it out. My grandpa does that in our house since it also makes noises after a while. You need to open a valve, better tell your building or check out a yt tutorial :) hope it gets fixed
I think you made a good choice. Why would you live alone when you need people around you sometimes. Your relationship ended so your studio probably give you tons of memories. So make new memories and you have more lighting and I hope you feel better and less anxiety. Good for you making that change!
do not feel bad about moving in with friends at all! You made the best decision for yourself and your life and nobody else should feel like they have a say in that! You're crushing it and I'm so excited for this new chapter for you!!
It’s awesome to live with your friends!! I’m nearly 30 and I’m so lucky to live with my husband. We’ve been and live together over a decade but only married last year. So We’ve taken breaks from being together before figuring ourselves out and I lived on my own. But during those periods I worked two jobs, over 60hr weeks to avoid being home, and then during covid when I had my own condo I was constantly hanging out at my brother’s place with him, his gf, and roomies. Haha it’s nice to have people to come home to and your own room to have the private space ♥️
After going through so much having friends around is a gift. I think so many of us would love to live alone I think were definitely projecting than on you x
I really love how you talked about moving your stuff so zach had space, and then proceeded to unpack your clothes.. which aren’t even in the common areas 😂😂
You have done the best for yourself if you need the comfort of others don't let those who aren't in your journey make you feel bad it is a blessing to have friends and comfort ❤🎉
Wow, I can't say I'm surprised people said mean things about living with roommates. It's your life and you shouldn't have to explain your reasoning for your decisions. You do what makes you happy and comfortable!
It’s actually very hard for someone who lived alone and kind of got used to it to move back with other people. It takes effort, resilience, and courage. Being around different people offers a support system and a collective sense of participation and connection that is useful for you to grow socially. Also, you made a well thought-out decision financially speaking. More importantly, it is YOUR decision, YOUR life, and YOUR right to choose the path that best serves you and offers you what you need. You don’t have to explain to others why you took a certain decision or not. That’s no body’s business. I am sending you my love and support ❤
Please do not let anyone take this joy from you!!!! I think this move will be so great for you!!! Excited for all your new content in a new environment!
Don't you dare worry about what people think about you moving. You're a grown ass woman and don't need to explain a thing. If it's right for you, it's the right thing to do. Can't wait to see the Alexis Adventures from here on out. Have a fantastic tomorrow and see ya next time.😊
Nothing wrong with moving in with friends. You do what makes you happy. Listening to everyone else's opinions will drive you crazy. Congrats on the move. I hope you all have a lot of fun together.
Congratulations on your move! I think you do not have to explain your decisions. People just love to be critics and sources of negativity. I think you based your decision to move on your needs, financial considerations, and your desire to make some changes for your benefit. Ignore the haters!
Never had a roommate. Raised a son alone. Sent him to college and have lived alone. Now at 54 I got my first roommate and he’s 24, something I never thought I would do. Best thing I could have done for my mental health.
Don’t feel weird about moving with your friends, you’re a grown woman make your own choices period.
❤well said!!❤
If we learned anything in Covid is that being on your own and isolated is overrated haha

Just a PSA, you can have your laundry picked up and dropped off if you’re doing wash/fold services at a lot of places in nyc! For me it was the same price as dropping it off and picking it up but I would tip the delivery person! It’s so worth it
I'm so happy for you! What a great new chapter!
Do you ! people don’t understand how expensive New York is, I’m happy for you and excited to see what you’re doing next… xoxo 😊
So happy for you!! Cute apartment I will miss the comfort of your old place but looking forward to your new life!
❤️
Wishing you happy memories in your new apartment
Congrats on your new place!
thank you!
Do NOT let those haters be nasty and say you are being co-dependent. You do YOU girl! I am so excited to see what new experiences are to come.
I literally clicked sooooo fast. I’ve been waiting for this! 😅
yay! ❤️
Living with roommates as an adult is incredibly common in big cities. It's frustrating people tried to make you feel bad for this. Have they never watched Friends?! Or Big Bang Theory?
hahah this is what i have been saying too!
FRIENDS is the PERFECT example!! And in New York :D
❤🎉 good luck in everything u do!!❤
👍 agree
Smooth move indeed. Look forward to see how you settle in and decorate
❤️
Congrats on the new place! And so close to 50k!!!!!
thanks!
obsessed with the intro of this video! congrats again on your move, girl! 🩷
I'm proud of you for making a move that works for you. Idk why people have such an issue with you living your life how you want or need to.
You're doing great and I think this is going to be a great experience for you. Sorry people brought negativity to this experience. I'm rooting for you ❤️
❤️❤️❤️
Looking forward to this new moving series. Your last moving series was how I found your channel. Also this apartment looks amazing, looking forward to see what you make of it.
❤️❤️❤️
Have so much fun in your new place 💕
Alexis! You get to decide where and with whom you live. Screw people’s opinions. You share your life w strangers. They don’t get to have an opinion unless you ask. Thank you for sharing NYC and your journey.
I think it's great that you have a larger space with friends ❤
I’m so happy for you Alexis that you have a new NYC apartment! Love your moving vlog so much! ❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
I think its awesome that you are so lucky to have such a great friend support, people that are there for you no matter what. keep doing you boo boo. don't let people make you feel bad for living your life the way you want. period.
Making a sensible decision is 100% an upgrade!! Don’t worry if others don’t agree! If you’re someone who is social as well, it makes so much sense to share an apartment and save yourself money. It’s a no brainer.
The heat can be all the way on or all the way off; no in between! It actually can lead to an explosion of dangerous hot steam when tenants play around with half on half off over time.
This happened in my apt building and the valve actually blew off like a geyser and the fire dept had to come;life in the big city lol
Wishing you and Bennett many blessings and much Zen in your new space😊
i also just moved from a studio back in with roommates - i totally get what you mean. it took a toll on me in a weird way and being around people is what we want and need right now!
Seeing Benett makes me so happy!! Also I had roommates all of my adult life, there’s nothing wrong with that❤
Congrats! I loved your studio and know this will also be great!
❤️
Everyone’s different. I truly hate having roommates, even when they were my friends. You’re still really young so you do you.
Having a community/ roommates is an amazing and personal choice. To have this opportunity is a blessing 😊
living with people you love makes life so much more magical and special!! so happy for you
Congratulations on your new move love the layout of your new bedroom 🥰
Lol I remember when I first moved into my nyc apartment and the heat made the pipes clank all the time! I thought something was wrong. It never got better but eventually I got used to it, sleeping was hard at first!!
Yep, I've has clanking in every nyc apartment I've had.
You shouldn't let people who are negative to get you down. You know what's best for you! I wish you the best. Will always watch your videos!
I’m so excited and happy for you! 💕💕💕. Moving in NYC seems SUPER stressful!
I am with you- I could certainly not live alone. The few times I did were only a few months span and I either always had someone over or was somewhere else. Do what is right for you!
Girl, living in nyc means living with others most of the time (whether that’s with friends or family or partners) you’re doing great!
forget baout what other people say! you have so much courage to live in nyc, that cant be easy. keep going!!!!!!!!!!! dont explain yourself. period!
the hard part is over which is the packing so relax and enjoy your new space. to new beginnings!! x
oh my goodness, the fact that you are living your dream inNYC and sharing your journey with us is amazing! people are so quick to pass judgement instead of looking about their own lives...chin up lovely, living with other people is great and by no means a backslide
I’m so happy you moved in with your friends. Friends are important ❤
Don't let anybody bring you down. You do what's better for you.
I think you made a good choice. Why would you live alone when you need people around you sometimes. Your relationship ended so your studio probably give you tons of memories. So make new memories and you have more lighting and I hope you feel better and less anxiety. Good for you making that change!
Oh I’ve been hoping for a video today!!!!!!❤️
❤️
do not feel bad about moving in with friends at all!
Don’t listen to others. You know what you want and need.❤
I hope you all have a lot of fun together.
you look sooo happy in your new place
Congratulations on your move! I think you do not have to explain your decisions. People just love to be critics and sources of negativity. I think you based your decision to move on your needs, financial considerations, and your desire to make some changes for your benefit. Ignore the haters!
Congratss!! a new place is always so exciting. Don't let anybody make you question your choices, you are exactly where you need to be 🧡
Never had a roommate. Raised a son alone. Sent him to college and have lived alone. Now at 54 I got my first roommate and he’s 24, something I never thought I would do. Best thing I could have done for my mental health.
