I highly recommend to read the PDF file on the site of the modding package. the document is very clear about all the steps you need to do and I got it with no errors.
Would it be possible in the future to get this more officialized? I'd love an in-game browser for player-added music, maybe adding specific parts of the song for specific parts of a level like the final boss, and the option to add songs with tempo changes (such as a toggle for if a new song has changes, then the measure numbers for when it happens). This is awesome already, but making it more expansive and convenient would make this one of my most common games that I'm constantly going back to over time to play along with a new song or two
The NoTiersExampleSongBank Event that you build is actually located in the "Desktop" folder in ExportedBanks. As other people have noted, this tutorial is in need of an update
Modding software is 0.5 in the video. The one that's out is 0.6. I think there's a difference because things look a lot more complicated in FMOD than they do here in the video.
The custom music update for this game came out the same day as the one for BPM. Curious... No complaints from me though, two phenomenal games getting infinitely more content is a win-win in my book
I am really scratching my head here, i've followed the tutorial exactly other than BPM but my mod still won't work ingame as it is still the default song, i'm trying to replace Stygia with LittleV's cover but nothing works. Really starting to annoy me
You forgot to go over changing the Event Id so you dont cause crashes. However, someone has made a slightly better tutorial that covers this extra step
God damn I cannot find anything about this, I tried copying the guid from fmod but idk if that’s actually the event ID because it still crashes. And I can’t find this “better tutorial” you speak of
you can create one on your own. 1. right click one of the pre made BPM speeds and duplicate it. 2. rename it and select it. 3. on the top change it from TIME to BEATS (next to the timer) 4. change the speed to the one you need. (the same way like in the video at 2:07) 5. adjust the blue border to end on 2 (the numbers above) 6. now you have to resize the 4 tracks below, to fit inside the blue border evenly (all eight of them) Done
To remove the mod, it's enough to remove the .json file, right? And if I want another song, just edit the json while the bank file is in the right folder. I think a simple json generator, maybe a mod launcher would be nice. My idea: Mod Launcher makes the player select a json file with different name than what's needed for the mod working. The selected json file gets copied and renamed by the program so the game can load it. It would keep the original json. When the copying, renaming is done by the launcher, the game starts with the mod. For a json generator, I think it would be simple to just have some checkboxes for the levels and songs used for the levels and manually set the bpm. After that, it would generate a json with the given name. I don't think the messing with the FMOD tools would be skippable but these little tools would make the process easier.
At 2:04, there is a slider that's moved in the UI. The actual project looks much more complicated than what is been shown here. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
Yeah, this tutorial does not work. The game just starts with the regular Stygia track (I'm testing this with the Steam demo version), and if I rename "NoTiersExampleSongBank" to "StygiaSongBank" as a workaround, the game just crashes. The project file in this video just doesn't match the one you actually have to use.
@@salmonslay you cant just change a value and have the bpm switch. you have to manually move all of the bpm sound blocks to match the bpm you want to set.

Small feedback, the files and the studio dont look exactly the same when downloaded from the website. This is an issue for someone who doesnt know how to work with these, which are probably most of the people watching this video.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I've followed all the steps but when I try to load the level with my modded music in the game crashes, any help would be appreicated
Yep I’m having this same issue, something must have changed recently or the video just skipped a step. I think it has something to do with the event ID in the json file, because I saw someone mention that under a different comment but I cannot for the fuckin life of me find anything about it. I tried copying the guid off fmod and pasting it over the current event ID but that didn’t work so idk what I have to input there that I’m missing.
there's gotta be an easier way, im having issues with the new updated version... let us just be able to use choose a specific bpm from a list, and only use songs with the exact same bpm
Almost all metal tracks have a bpm which is not 120, 130, 140, ... but 196, 112, .... How can you create a beat track which matches the bpm without changing the temp of each song? All BeatTracks are just 4 Beats in a Row but you cant determine the length of each segment precisely which will result in an offset by the end of the song. How did you solve that? Edit: It is actually written in the FAQ. You can only use tracks with a fixed BPM. Please add a way to change that.

When I build the bank it says: Failed to build bank "Master" due to the following error: Error loading file. Failed to build bank "NoTiersExampleSongBank" due to the following error: Error loading file. Any ideas to fix?
also funny side note I copied in the bank and json files just to see what would happen, and when I loaded Stygia some weird techno EDM starting playing lmao. I removed them back out again as loading different maps crashed the game.

If you build "NoTiersExampleSong" and specify that in the json file as shown in the video, the game crashes.
