We recently did another "delivering the dream" type video with a turn-key car from DMC Midwest, delivered to a Southern California new owner again. Somewhat different story but same result -- another happy owner who did not fork over his life savings for living the dream. This one will be coming soon!
DMC Florida has mine right now. Time to get an update on its progress. Needs the front fascia replaced, the AC gone through, and as with all DeLoreans, some electrical work.
I used to see one in a used car lot. It was there for some time so it may have been like the first one you bought with a bunch of problems, but man, I stared at that car every time I drove past and wanted it so bad. Congrats to you! Any chance you could make some "special modifications", and go back and warn your previous self about that first car?
Every once in a while I see a DeLorean here in Craven County North Carolina. How I wish I could come across it parked so I could track down the owner and ask to look at it.
One thing i noted from the video is that the rubber bonded engine mounts are rotten. Get these changed out asap, or the PRV V6 will try to lift and just Rip the driveshafts out. Ask how i know....
ALL that attention to detail and they give him a car with a blown passenger taillight @13:12 😅 But nice ride and the new owner seems like a responsible and respectful collector. GG.
@@DeLoreanTECH nerly new, i would www.xautoworld.com/news/electric-delorean/ -- www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/features/back-again-future-driving-electric-delorean it would make it more awesome :):)
Anyone looking in purchasing a DeLorean, I highly recommend on getting The Illustrated Buyer's Guide to Delorean Automobiles. A book straight from a true insider and author James Espey!
Mine was #6720 (If i remember correctly) and went to California in 2009 after I sold it. (The following is my opinion): These cars are WAY overpriced nowadays (regardless of inflation which is already inflating prices anyway). I paid $21k in 2007 and mine was in excellent condition. Now they go for well over 30k which is a ripoff and especially from a place like DMC Florida or any other "dealer" which jacks up the prices. Just my opinion. Enjoyed the video though. Nice to see people still enjoying these cars.
I agree the prices are through the roof on DeLoreans. However right now it's a seller's market. The reason why the prices are so high is because of high demand and people are willing to pay that much. Kinda like the housing market in California! Today $30K for a running turn key DeLorean is a bargain. You are looking at more like $45-50K, even more depending on condition and upgrades.
@@DeLoreanTECH I actually still have a couple of leftover parts. A backboard (the carpeted piece that goes behind the seats in the cargo area), a sewable patch that goes on a hat or shirt, Trailing arm bolts, a identification sticker set and some other part I can't identify. I was in the Florida club back when it started.
I never expected this, that car he sold at the Beverly Hills Car Club was actually the car I've been looking at for ages now. Never knew he owned it and it was in such bad condition.
This video makes me so jealous..lol It's been my lifelong dream to have a DeLorean, though it may seem like an impossibility, You give me even more reason to hope, I'm happy for you my friend and congrats! 😊
Happy for you brother, I felt the same way about my Pontiac Fiero wanted one for years and the first one I bought was a 1984 and it burned oil big time!!! Lol drove that for 1 year and was disappointed big time a few years later I didn't give up on it and I bought a 1987 GT and loved every Dame second of it. Drove it for 4 years everyday rain or shine, snow or fall, and now my brother has it as I gave it to him once I started a family but it's been in the family now for 21 years and I still get to drive it a few times a year and it still puts a smile on my face!!!! So enjoy Brother enjoy!!!!
I wish to God I could get this car I would literally have myself buried with this car I love this car ever since I was a little kid in the end of the third Back to the Future movie I cried over that car
The DeLorean is a great car and concept riddled with a terrible powerplant. Bob Zemeckis said that during the filming of the _Back to the Future_ movies they had nothing but trouble with them. Hope you have better luck with yours!
If the owner ever wants to give it the back to the future treatment. Get in contact with videbobmosley. He has a youtube channel. Though he is moving from texas to vegas so I don't know if his shop right now is taking on new projects.
Wow! Congrats on the purchase; I am so jealous. I would love to own one some day. Apart from refurbishing original vehicles, is it true that DeLorian also make the car brand new from scratch - made to order?
They can actually but the VIN would need to exist first -- so essentially start with an existing car and replace EVERYTHING on it just about with New Old Stock parts...frame, body, engine. It's all possible. Just need $$$. "New" DeLoreans are coming in the future when the low-volume car manufacturing laws take effect!
Your first Delorean is currently on sale at Beverly Hills Car Club. Here is the description....1981 DeLorean DMCThis low mileage 1981 DeLorean DMC featured here with 3,844 miles on the odometer is available in Stainless Steel with a grey interior. It comes with a clean Carfax and is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, power windows, 4-wheel disc brakes, and solid wheels. An original iconic '80s classic which is mechanically sound. For $42,500.
so are u building a time machine out of delorean ..if my calculation is correct when this baby hit 88mile youre gonna see some serious shit... just need to add plotonium or 1.2 gigawat if not just need a bolt of lightning maybe mr fusion
"The car has great acceleration..." Its a DeLorean, so "great" is doing some heavy lifting here. For the record, I love these cars.... but they're slow.
Car came with the original tail light circuit boards, which go bad after 40+ years. He told them not to replace them as he already had a new pair of boards that he bought for his first car.
@@DeLoreanTECH That would be cool. Just to see how the ownership is going, what he’s currently done to the car and what mods he plans to do. I should have bought one of these back in the day when they were still affordable. Now they have shot up in price for a decent example.
True I didn't expect it to feel like I was floating over bumps. Then at the same time it can take a bend no problem without any crazy body roll like you'd assume would have.
Excellent. DeLoreans have such a cursed history but are still notable cars. Glad to see it back on the road.
But Where we're going, we don't need roads
There's nothing like owning a DeLorean such a super unique car. I will never own one but I feel happy watching others enjoy theirs.
they still look like a modern car.i would love one some day
I want to see this and the Cybertruck parked side by side.
@J Candu read the comment carefully!!!! i said look and only people who cant drive use automatics!
@@BFKAnthony817 ha I never made that visual connection before but I see the choppy similarities. :)
This car is will always be an 80’s iconic vehicle.
Right up there with the Pontiac Fiero.
Some day I will purchase one of these. DMC Florida is only a few miles from my house :)

Hi, I wish to get one in a few years to Australia, is going through DMC the easiest?
This was one of the coolest videos ever! Wow that is just so neat!!
Thanks for the compliment! We worked hard trying to make it short and sweet. Glad you enjoyed it.
So amazing you bought your dream car. Such a rare car. Amazing to see this car on the road again.
Good for you brother. You deserve it.
That Delorean looks clean and awesome.
Yeah but it drives like a paddle boat

Grats duder! enjoy, hopefully it becomes a handed down family treasure.
A unique looking vehicle
VERY cool, live the dream buddy!
Best wishes from snowy Germany
Excellent video and amazing restoration!
Yeah, restoration by DMC Florida. Not him. The dude didn't have the nuts to do it himself. He just let his check book do all the work.
Aside from the 1963 Aston Martin DB5 this car to me is the 2nd greatest automotive celebrity of all time. Shall heads be turned wherever you go!
That tailgate transporter is terrifying. lol
He should add the cool black stickers that goes on the sides

Getting the car off the transporter was scary! Especially when it looked like the rear right/passenger wheel almost went over the edge!
I’m very happy for this guy. Dream come true. I hope I can get this one day.
Same here! Good luck in the future
@@DeLoreanTECH Thank you! Love your videos.

Americans and manuals I suppose
This my dream car. On the DMC site there's one that has only 723 miles?🤯😍😍😍
Congratulations! It is my dream car too because i am a bttf fan. Enjoy it!
I thought there was a DMC in Houston assembling new ones using leftover parts. Did they sell out?
I will be getting my DeLorean from DMC Florida soon myself. I will be posting on my channel.

John DeLorean is smiling from the grave. Balsy move he made and sacrificed a lot to develop it. It was the 1970's technology after all.
Is this a 1981DeLorean? Nice, very nice man!
Yes it is

That car actually sold to some one down in Chile some time ago. When did you last see it?
Fyi, don't rest your hand on the stick when driving a manual. You'll cause excessive wear on the gearbox components
Nah mate that's a myth
Incorrect
Lol I also concur with the hand resting on the stick shift being a myth. Unless we’re talking about Andre the Giants hands and even then I doubt it.
I'm so jealous...
Beautiful example, best wishes.
Awesome story, awesome icon of a car!
That must be interesting to see if you were a passer by, a DeLorean riding on an elevator on the back of an 18 wheeler in the middle of the road...

There’ve been a few electric converted DeLoreans. I agree it’s a great candidate.
