This set has 1872 pieces. It would have been great if they had somehow included 13 more pieces to make it 1885 (the year Marty and Doc go back to in the third movie). They did that with the Saturn V, matching the year 1969.
Plus it might mean we can have all the configurations available without the dismantling of certain aspects Like I hate the fact you have to dismantling key parts like Mr fusion and the lightning converters Also the replacement wheels don’t have any rubber
There’s a quick mod that helps the small windows on the doors, just swap the cheese slopes out for a flat plate. I thought it helps the proportions a lot.
I had the same problem with the doors not staying open, but as time passed I realized the doors getting stiffer in a way and now they stay open on their own. I guess it just takes time :)

you can make the door stay open by putting a 1x4 plate just under the dor hinge. it's super easy to do, it works well for display and if you want you just have to press down on the door and the plate pops out
Yeah the gullwing is the only disappointment of the model. It's much better than the original Lego model. I am thinking of implementing the popular door fix and adding in the flag element and make it hover on a stand. My only issues are the doors(which you covered), changing the license plate was way too difficult since you have to disassemble the the entire back end, and not having separate tires for the different wheels which makes changing the wheels out a lot more annoying.
