This is one of the better speeches I have heard in a long time. Then disappointed to see the comments where people seem to be so offended by anyone who is "selling" something. This talk was not even asking for anyone to buy anything. And truth be told, we are all in "sales". If we aren't promoting an idea or a service or our own worth to a prospective employer or client, we are probably recommending a product or restaurant to someone else. We all promote ideas and things we like and believe can benefit others. What is wrong with that? If we aren't doing this, what are we doing then? Living for ourselves? I am sure none of these comments really bothers Gabrielle though because she knows the only way to avoid criticism is to done nothing, and that is no way to live. We live to serve others. This is a great speech. For those who didn't like this for some reason, I challenge you to listen to it at a different time in your life when perhaps you are ready for its message. Think with love... :) Remember the four steps to becoming a miracle worker are 1) willingness/openness to make change, 2) surrender... let go of your plans, time limits, listen..., 3) practice forgiveness, 4) expect miracles.

Sri, I agree with you. To spin it the other way, all of the negative comments here are actually lovely examples of how our minds run amuck. Learning to control our negative thinking and attacking others is an extremely hard task. The work Gabrielle is talking about is de-programming the ego-mind which loves keeping itself separated from others by means of attack. You have to be really ready to do this kind of work, it is not for wimps!

That's wonderful. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that ACIM is talking about the mental and emotional level 99% of the time. Rarely is it talking about the physical level. In fact, it comes right out and says that the body is weak and can be destroyed. So often I thought that ACIM was referring to my body or the physical world, and it really threw me during the lessons. Example; lesson 1 is something like, "Nothing I see in this room means anything." Now this is true on a emotional and mental level. But it's not true on a physical level. On a physical level, the table means a lot of things. It means you have a table to eat at, a table to study at, something more to store if you move, etc. It just doesn't mean anything on a mental or emotional level. It doesn't mean you are good, bad, lucky, successful, a failure, complete, incomplete, etc. All emotional stuff. Okay? I just don't want you stepping in front of a speeding truck while thinking, "The son of God can suffer nothing, and I am his son." because it's not talking about your body. The truck is going to cream into your body, and it's going to hurt like hell or kill you. Alright? This goes for nearly everything ACIM is talking about. And if you doubt me, you need to reread the preface, because this is the only place where it tells you this. Enjoy! The miracles really are well beyond what you can imagine!

Only your mind, heart, soul and spirit are indestructible. Don't be teasing rattlesnakes thinking you can't be harmed by anything. lol Okay?
***** No, I don't know any.It was just a subject I and some others really struggled with. Because ACIM doesn't ever remind us that it is speaking on a purely mental level. The way it reads it can easily sound like it is suggesting we don't look twice before crossing the street, and that we are giving in to fear if we do. So.....yes.....25 years. I see myself as a bit of an expert on the subject. I went fully into it. Reading the text a dozen times and doing the lessons as well as humanly possible. I guess that's another point to bring up. Even though ACIM says the lessons are simple....they are actually impossible at times. Like when it says to repeat the idea for the day every 5 minutes throughout the day. It's just physically impossible to remember an idea every 5 minutes, unless you are maybe locked up in solitary confinement. But in normal life there are simply far too many distractions. But it doesn't really matter.....ACIM doesn't care how well we do the lessons. ACIM only cares how hard we tried. Because ....and this is interesting......the ego only cares about results, while the spirit only cares about intentions. You could do the lessons all wrong, and still receive excellent results from it, because it only matters if you tried to do the lessons right. And that's probably why they are impossible to perform at times, because God wants to see how dedicated you really are. And the harder you try, the more results you are going to receive. Well, that's my experience at least. Although it does say in ACIM somewhere that the ego is only results orientated and the spirit only intention orientated. It's why we don't have to worry about what we say or what we do, as long as our heart is in the right place. As long as "I am here only to be truly helpful" is playing in our head, we are good to go, and can do no wrong. Oh and.....Marianne Williamson's book, A Return To Love was a New York best seller at the time. I was on a Tony Robbins kick at the time and was buying books left and right. Tony had convinced me to write down a list of life goals. My list was like....1. Truth, 2. Love. 3. Peace. Well....imagine the message such a list sends out to the universe. In 3 weeks I went from being a lifelong troubled atheist to being fully absorbed into ACIM. Again, it's all about intentions. The universe will do the rest. I was hell bent on Truth, Love and Peace, and God sent them to me like a flood to cover the world. The stories I can tell you about the last 25 years are incredible. But you really had to be there. And if you do the lessons with all your will.....you'll know what I am talking about. But do not let your inability to grasp the lessons or do them perfectly stop you. Just do your very best and don't worry about the rest. All effort will be rewarded in multiples that defy physical laws. You can take ACIM as far as you want or as little as you like. You can even go back to the beginning (I did that) and then return right to where you left off. And when I say you can take it as far as you like......I (I'm in tears now) I mean you can be a servant in things that you never dreamt possible. Jesus is simply looking for our level of commitment. If all we give is a half effort, than all we will receive is a partial result, which is still well worth it. But if we make Truth, Peace and Love our only goals and then reach for them with all our might.....then we have given Jesus full permission to enter our lives. And the things you will see and do will absolutely blow your mind. There truly is nothing you cannot do, with God leading you. A short conversation, with a seemingly random stranger, can radically transform the world for everyone forever.
I didn't understand lesson 1 the same way you did. I got out of it that we take what we see for granted (I know what it is) and that matter is not what it looks like, since everything is interconnected. Namaste!

But those who are moved will take from it a genuine level of hope that she received in her darkest moment. I can respect the fact that she got up and shared her story. I couldn't help but feel preached at, and talked at. It caused me to feel some resistance because of what I perceived to be a persuasive air. Still better to come up with an outline for an important talk, interesting stories to go along with demonstration of a point being made. None the less, it was a positive and beneficial message. May it bring light to our individual lives and what we desire to share in the name of light and love.

I like certain teachers more than others (it’s what we do as Egos in bodies). David Hofmeister, Gary Renard, Ken Wapnick and Jon Mandy are among them. Gabrielle in this talk touches on some core elements of ACIM but it is certainly not the whole message if you are not familiar with the Course. That’s not a knock. There could be a 20 minute Ted Talk for every paragraph, chapter, workbook lesson, etc. Dig in folks. It’s time.

Gabby speaking the truth and anyone who does get this video either needs another listen or another look at their life because what she is talking about is literally the future. She is talking about quantum physics if you actually did your research before judging.
The answer is that yes we should still live in ease. Being unhappy does not help poor or unfortunate people. When we have reached genuine peace, we can then become helpful to others according to our particular talents and inclinations. To try to help others while remaining miserable will not work. It is not love, but simply fear that is motivating an unhappy person.
Peace and love to everyone...I love the 2-3 am special time Gabrielle talks about where the spiritual veil disappears. I experience that special time in fact I call it the Quantum time where communication occurs outside of time and space.

Tony had convinced me to write down a list of life goals. My list was like....1. Truth, 2. Love. 3. Peace. Well....imagine the message such a list sends out to the universe. In 3 weeks I went from being a lifelong troubled atheist to being fully absorbed into ACIM. Again, it's all about intentions. The universe will do the rest. I was hell bent on Truth, Love and Peace, and God sent them to me like a flood to cover the world.
The stories I can tell you about the last 25 years are incredible. But you really had to be there. And if you do the lessons with all your will.....you'll know what I am talking about. But do not let your inability to grasp the lessons or do them perfectly stop you. Just do your very best and don't worry about the rest. All effort will be rewarded in multiples that defy physical laws. You can take ACIM as far as you want or as little as you like. You can even go back to the beginning (I did that) and then return right to where you left off. And when I say you can take it as far as you like......I (I'm in tears now) I mean you can be a servant in things that you never dreamt possible.
Jesus is simply looking for our level of commitment. If all we give is a half effort, than all we will receive is a partial result, which is still well worth it. But if we make Truth, Peace and Love our only goals and then reach for them with all our might.....then we have given Jesus full permission to enter our lives. And the things you will see and do will absolutely blow your mind. There truly is nothing you cannot do, with God leading you. A short conversation, with a seemingly random stranger, can radically transform the world for everyone forever.

I didn't understand lesson 1 the same way you did. I got out of it that we take what we see for granted (I know what it is) and that matter is not what it looks like, since everything is interconnected. Namaste!
Wow reading these comments is unbelievable disheartening! What a beautiful message, and the judgement and critic of some is the true reason the world is in the mess it is in!! This was the kind of message that inspires a certain kind of motivation, not everyone will understand, or be entertained by this speech. But those who are moved will take from it a genuine level of hope that she received in her darkest moment. She however, in my opinion, is an excellent and unique speaker to have done this talk without an outline.

I can respect the fact that she got up and shared her story. I couldn't help but feel preached at, and talked at. It caused me to feel some resistance because of what I perceived to be a persuasive air. Still better to come up with an outline for an important talk, interesting stories to go along with demonstration of a point being made. None the less, it was a positive and beneficial message. May it bring light to our individual lives and what we desire to share in the name of light and love.

Nicely done Gabrielle. A Ted Talk on ACIM is a wonderful thing and always welcome here. The Course is my ultimate source for deepest truth and connection to God. I like certain teachers more than others (it’s what we do as Egos in bodies). David Hofmeister, Gary Renard, Ken Wapnick and Jon Mandy are among them. Gabrielle in this talk touches on some core elements of ACIM but it is certainly not the whole message if you are not familiar with the Course. That’s not a knock. There could be a 20 minute Ted Talk for every paragraph, chapter, workbook lesson, etc. Dig in folks. It’s time.

I think Gabrielle is awesome. Studying her books along with The Course brought me out of my self imposed crisis. But one of my support groups told me " I was acting normally to abnormal situations. " I like the way she talks about helping others , but there are obsticals in this damn dualistic blinder. So I chop wood , carry water and unlabel things. Sometimes doing the right isn't always the most popular thing. Love and Light, Bob.

The answer is that yes we should still live in ease. Being unhappy does not help poor or unfortunate people. When we have reached genuine peace, we can then become helpful to others according to our particular talents and inclinations. To try to help others while remaining miserable will not work. It is not love, but simply fear that is motivating an unhappy person.

Peace and love to everyone...I love the 2-3 am special time Gabrielle talks about where the spiritual veil disappears. I experience that special time in fact I call it the Quantum time where communication occurs outside of time and space.
It isn't about the color, economic status or religion. It's about the important message of which she speaks. Forgiveness and love have no boundaries. "An ancient hatred become a holy love." I will listen to that message from anyone who puts themselves on the platform.
