    Very professional and competent not only in the installation but also in video-related. Thank you for your time and effort in doing this for the rest of us!

    Definitely the best video on UA-cam on this specific topic. Well done Michael Orie. Your tips were 100% spot on. I was looking for where that challenging nut was to remove and glad I stumbled across this video and the gasket marking and tape trick was a smart idea.

    Best video of this topic on utube! The video quality is the best to see all the details in all the tight areas. All the utube mechanics should follow your lead with the video works. I think you forgot to remove the masking tape on the lower exhaust gasket. Bravo nevertheless.

    The best advice is the masking tape for gasket at the back :)

    Mr Orie, much love to you, bro. What helped me the most was using an extra reach 12 mm racheting wrench for the three Nuts in the back and took a while to reach the 4th HIDDEN 12 mm nut underneath the EGR cooler. We used a Torx E8 socket 1/4 in. finger rachet to remove and re-tight the two Bolts in the back of the EGR cooler. Saved me $250-$300 and a trip to the mech shop. Great video!

    I found what I needed to know to do this right. The masking tape is a great idea because I've lost items in the void below. Stuffing rags in the right places below the work area helps to catch falling nuts & bolts & screws. I did this to prevent losses. Thanks again. Your video was very clear.

    The tape on the gasket is genius. Took me forever to put the cooler back in because of it. I will do this next time.

    Don’t put that “crazy” bolt(under the cooler) back - it is not critical for the functionality but makes it easy for next time cleaning 😀 I usually just grind of that bolt connection lip so easy to remove and install

    Just completed this job and it was successful and CEL is gone and drives better. Notes : I thought those hose clamps were a pain so I would replace them with common screw tightening types. Have Toyota coolant available and let some loose and a partial replacement of the coolant is good. Also the studs use a unique tool so plan on buying that tool. I used a 6mm and one of the rear bolts stripped. Luckily I was able to remove the cooler with one rear stud still in place. Don’t replace the lower bolt, it’s very secure without it. Clean the IM and pipe while you’re at it and purchase new gaskets, egr valve, and cooler unless you have a good method (ultrasonic?) to clean them.

    Thank you so much. I know I will be struggling to reach some of this nuts and bolts. I will make room like you did by pulling some of the hoses away. I'm planning to tackle this project in the coming week.

    This was by far the best video on this EGR procedure I have ever saw! You descriptions and steps and the clarity of the video were far superior to anyone else’s videos! Thank you for that! I just subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to your other videos! I have one question on this procedure as I just received my Replacement EGR cooler from eBay and did and extensive cleaning before pulling the old one, the one I received and cleaned still has the studs in place on the exhaust end where it connects, must I remove those before installing or would I have enough clearance to just tape the gasket over those studs and aim for the holes on the exhaust pipe, or will I not then have the clearance to get the brackets to line up for the other two mounting positions? Thank you again for your great video and help for us newcomers!

    In the EGR cooler gasket, there's a small semi-circular notch, does the orientation make difference? Also what are your thoughts on Oil Catch Can to reduce oil build up underneath Throttle Body inside the in-take manifold? Thank you.

    Hi, I just swapped out my EGR valve with a used but good-test replacement (so the vendor claims). But now I get this CEL OBD2 codes: P0123 (Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input), P2135 (Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch). Im estimating the new EGR valve is a dud? Any thoughts?

    • @drivingteacher786
      @drivingteacher786 4 роки тому

      These codes are relating to the throttle body, did you clean it or remove it when working on the car? I would check the wiring and give it clean before thinking of used or new replacement.
