Actually Satan can very much use Megido Ark as a turn opener, and will pretty much always do so unless Luminescent Mirage is cast. For whatever reason this skill completely breaks his AI and causes him to use Megidolaon instead. IDK why this is.
Also, because I like sharing, my main team was Sakuya, Panagaia Yoko and Demi-Fiend. Sakuya is amazing and should be the go-to healer. Yoko is frankly absurd because she debuffs, removes buffs, and casts a magic attack that is stronger than Megidolaon but not quite as strong as Tandava, all at the cost of a single Debilitate at + 9 potential. Finally Demi Fiend’s Chaotic Will and Deadly Fury are great for press turn management on both sides.
I dont think it breaks his AI but rather it is a intentional AI quirk that he will throw you a bone whenever you use Luminescent Mirage.
Without this AI quirk you would be required to run a taunt skill on MC or Onyakopon in order to prevent Megido Arc 1st Press Turn and with this quirk you dont have to do that. Satan feels like it was designed to show the strengths of Dodge MC and have a fight where he shines, including 2 demons with a light weakness, meanwhile like half the roster has a dark resist or null.
This is why I said "almost always" instead of "always"; and even when using Luminescent Mirage he can still cast Megido Ark on the first press turn, it's just rare.
@@RozalinGaming so his AI even with LM is still semi-random? I tested this for about 40-50 times and never had such an issue, maybe it was something else?

@@bambu7031 it's still rare but yeah, he can still cast it. For example, on my kill which took about an hour since I was playing super conservative, he only used it at the start, but when I went back and did more attempts to test his AI more, I did get hit with it even with Mirage up about 3 times.

great work on these videos! I just subbed but did you put out a Demi-fiend guide back when the game first came out? I surprisingly never fought him in the original and now have been struggling with the insta kill timing in Vengeance 😅
Yeah it’s weird. Instead of fixing Demi Fiend’s AI, they buffed the demon’s AI to be smarter about Dekunda usage and have generally more HP or higher VIT. Cerberus specifically. IDK what the dog doin
I was already running the same team as you but getting wrecked without using any tsukuyomi skills, luminescent mirage and lunation flux clutched out the win for me, thanks! thought I should also point out that letting him consume the demons that give him freikugel EX and big bang also should be avoided because it can deal an overwhelming amount of damage
Freikugel EX is easily handled by your MC with Luminescent Mirage and Fierce Roar, and Big Bang is handled by pumping your demon's Vitality to around 120.
@@RozalinGaming I didn't wanna use a slot for fierce roar but yea that makes sense and I think my demons only had around 100 vit, so they got their enduring soul procced when he casted it haha

My team was almost the same for this. I didn't have masakado, though, so I used Odin with gungnir and yabusame shot.
I wonder if there's any significance to the demons he summons in this game?
Sorry for the dumb question, but how can paraselene blur be used as the only damage on the build against enemies that null or absorb light? I'm trying to use a similar build to yours
If you let him absorb an enemy that nulls light then you just don't attack with your main character. In my explanation for the MC's build, I mention using Evergreen Dance on those turns as an option; in some cases you just don't attack at all and the MC falls into a full dodge-tank/support role. The main damage dealer in this party setup isn't the MC, it's Masakado, or whoever else you choose to use. You should look at Paraselene Blur in this party as something you use when you can, but not something you always try to use as it's lower on the priority of things to be doing.

It's another super boss so I feel like it's fair
He can always crit, deal high damage with gaea rage, and can cut off second turn of satan with chaotic will.
It's both a support and a damage dealer so you'll have to make up for it by giving damaging skills to beelzebub and sakuya tho
Wait, you can get Masakado in CoC? If so, then that's sweet for me since my first and current playthrough is a CoC run.
You can only get him on coc yes, he is also a new superboss that can be made stronger by getting an item in a previous cov playthrough.
I used Odin that was stacked with some strength incense. Less damage, but it works.
I did coc but didnt get masakado and is now on cov. I’m just too lazy to build team but wanna try so I went with yoko sakuya mc and agrat 😅 worked out find. Beat him first try.

You basically can't face Masakado without being on NG+ since the key item is on CoV.

How do you get Luminescent Mirage?
Talk to the researcher lady who you need to talk to for the DLC quests after you get the MC's new form. She'll give you up to 3 new essences based on story progress.

So...what if I don't have sakuya?
Then you'll need to use a different healer and will need to be more conservative on MP usage. Demeter is a good choice, though she will want quite a few vitality incenses.
Build another healer with luster candy effect and dekunda
Tao is a good one for example if you have access to her still
a different healer should do the trick but preferrably one that's not femme/lady/megami because of beelzebub's innate, that lowers your options quite a bit unfortunately, Tao is good though
