You're not a nerd bro.
Also, Americans get satire bro. You think we all dummy dumb dumbs who smoke meth and wrestle alligators in florida???
Now back to my mountain dew.

Most people start drugs at 11
Bro you are more ads than substance......EVERYONE but you LMFAO knew this was part of the friggin act.....HOly shit LMFAO
Hey...Americans get satire. We just don't react to it as it is soooo common in our conversation. I feel like the non-reaction adds to the humor, as if I am willing to accept what you've just told me as a solid and honest statement.
@@TheNykademos im American What are you talking about...

I can't attest to Oliver Tree's background, but to anyone who thinks 15 is too young of an age to get addicted to drugs, and get kicked out of your parent's house, you live a very idealistic world, or have never seen extremely awful home lives of many kids around the world. My friends and I would regularly be out all night, and not come home, sometimes even for days at a time. Most of us got groomed by adults at a young age into that lifestyle as well. There is a reason the whole, "Its 10:00 o'clock do you know where your children are?" thing happened.
Broh for reals.. I smoked meth for the first time at 14 cuz I was kicked out and bouncing between juvies and group homes. The only "family" I found at that vulnerable age were all homeless as well and did drugs. People with family seriously don't understand how much it makes or breaks you
Yea that rlly pissed me off.
As someone who opened for hundreds of dubstep DJs, I promise none of us are cool

We know.
Idk Rusko is pretty sick
I just saw him in Atlanta, and he told everyone he was born in Emory (local hospital), and everyone went wild. I'm sitting there like, "You know he's bullshitting right?"

The scooter stunt double is part of the act. Im sure oliver is mismatching slips and skate shoes on purpose. Hes alway bringing out alt olivers.
drug addiction does not have an age limit my dude.
Yeah I've heard addictions starting way before 15.
Its not that addictions cant and dont start early, but he's questioning the extent of Oliver's claims about his addictions, which arent necessarily normal for a 15 year old. Thats typically around the time many start experimenting and it usually takes awhile for addictions to grab ahold of you that strongly. I started using at around 15 but it didnt become a problem til I was about 20 and it wasnt til around 24 that I was on a level close to his claims. He makes it out like he was a full blown addict, abusing every single drug, homeless, selling hard drugs, etc and altho I know there are 15 year old hardcore addicts out there, I'm still gonna press X to doubt that it was even remotely as gnarly as he makes it out to be. Especially with the well off family he seems to come from as well as how quickly he seemed to recover without ever having any kind of slip up or relapse along the way, but hey, ya never know, especially with him.
@@RxYouththis, exactly this. I started using drugs at 15/16 and didn’t end up really strung out and fucked up until my early 20’s.
There are people that end up addicts in their teens, but you’d have to have some serious parental neglect to be in active hardcore addiction at 15.
@@Thor-Orionhey I had pretty much the same path of addiction as you! Didn’t start to get into drugs until my early teens, but got into hard drugs in my 20s. Mine I blame on a terrible trip on mushrooms that left me unable to really function so I went to Xanax, and the rest is history.

You should do a video on the ultras subculture. Its one of, if not the biggest subculture in the world. Don't just talk about the fights, talk about the dedication, the effort put in to tifos and pyro, the struggles of smuggling pyro into the stadiums and of hiding your identity, putting your mask on under blankets and changing clothes etc. Talk about the role politics play, the battles against police, the law and UEFA etc. You'll get a lot of new traction from all the ultras around the world.
Damn that does sound like a good ass video. Always wondered about all that
He did like a year ago ua-cam.com/video/JnTnaOxP8sQ/v-deo.html
@@dc4825 I'll assume you're either from north America or a troll. Ask anyone from Europe, north Africa, certain parts of Asia or south America and they'll almost certainly know exactly what an ultras is. Some may not know the term "ultras" but they'd still know exactly what they are once you explain what it means. Calling it one of the biggest subcultures in the world is well deserved. So many people live and die for it, literally. There's a lot of videos on the topic, you should really check it out. "Why are ultras so important for football" is a great watch.

I completely agree. I will never forget the first time I heard splitting branches which led me down the Oliver rabbit hole . I'm so happy he's being found and talked about. He's stayed my favorite artist since
idk about you guys, but to me it kinda seems intentional he changed the details about the scooter crash (not sure if the order was set by you to make it funnier or if it's the actual order in which those events happened) just to make it funnier, the "metric meters" only adds up to it :D what do you think?
An interesting factoid is that Steve-O actually did go to clown college
Ikr, I thought Jimmy would pick up on that. Another case of repeating a story from the person next to you

Dude you may have been raised in a somewhat sheltered household but it isn’t that unusual for people to start doing drugs at 15.
START doing drugs at 15? Yes. Drug addicted at 15 in a two parent well to do household? Different matter entirely.
Source; I’m a recovering drug addict. Started smoking weed at 14-15. Didn’t end up addicted to opiates until my 20’s.
I knew a kid who was addicted to meth when he was 14. Let’s not act like it’s not impossible.
You can tell this guy was born with middle-class parents. drives me insane
@@Brodc why does that drive you insane? Because some kids aren’t born into slums? I wish no child was born into anything less than middle class life, I really wish the world would do more to eliminate childhood poverty and hunger and the dangers associated with childhood in low-income neighborhoods.
Also, Oliver Tree’s parents were WAY above middle class, they’re a fairly wealthy family.
The statistics on teen drug use are fairly telling; the overwhelming majority of teen drug users come from single parents households in the lower 30% of income. There are obviously outliers to these statistics, but I watched the Oliver Tree interviews where he was less “shticky” and the stories about his drug addiction don’t really add up. I’ve known addicts that got hooked young and I have a lot of doubts that Oliver is being totally sincere about his drug experiences. It’s a really shitty thing to fake, which is why i don’t want to accuse him of outright faking that aspect of his character, but he is playing a character with certain aspects of his real life incorporated into that character. I’m sure he did have some drug experiences fairly young, but I really don’t believe the story as he tells it is the truth.
@@Thor-Orion Talking about the out of touch youtuber that made the video, sweetheart
As a Swede, I really appreciate his satire, but I understand Americans can get confused. I mean, me and my buddies acts likes this on a daily basis
Problem is he's punching down, the subculture he's mocking is super underground and you really had to know your 2010s to even get it. IMO his clout crossed the line satire cannot cross and bullying hidden in plain sight to an oblivious crowd like The Big Bang Theory.
I guess he became aware of that and become more Kid Rock-like
beacuse its fucking annoying
As a Swede, we have absolutely no claim to being on the level of Brits in satire/sarcasm. But sure we might do it better than the average American.
as an eastern european who is tolerant when it comes to satire. olive bush is the biggest annyoing pieces of shit ever
You guys have very low opinions of Americans. This is normalized here too. He came from America after all. It's not like Americans are drax the destroyer from gaurdians of the galaxy or spock. We understand satire and sarcasm.
Edit: just got to the part I understand now lol
This man's whole life is a genius comment on the relationship we have with celebrity in the age of the internet. He knows exactly what he's doing, and I feel like the whole thing is satire and a way of sneaking that genuine artist who wants to be taken seriously in amongst a crowd of distractions. I'm not even a big fan of his music, but I still feel like he's one of those rare artists who understands the culture well enough as to be several steps ahead of the game every time.
What are you talking about? He’s a talentless person that has to use a flamboyant fake persona to sell his mediocre music. Think if David Bowie made shit music and half asses his glam image.
Never heard of this guy before. Sounds like a real meme lord like Salvatore Ganacci or something like that.
I legit accidentally saw him live, he was a supporting act for Hobo Johnson and we had no idea who he was, been a fan since
Hobo Johnson is great so is Oliver tree!
he dropped his character the most during the Steve-O interview, and it was really amazing. he still kept up the bit though of course. i hope he keeps it going literally until he dies of old age
Honestly it was the Anthony Padilla interview where I felt he dropped the act most
Skrillex looks like Corey Feldman if he born in the 90s

How closeted is Jimmy. "It's unlikely he got addicted to drugs at 15 years old." A lot of my friends got addicted to coke, meth or ecstasy at 14 years old. In a little town in Kansas. That's a ridiculous statement Jimmy made. I started using hard drugs, too, when I was 14. I wasn't ever really an addict. It was just the environment I was in. I stopped using all hard drugs on July 13, 2010.
I started using hard drugs at 14 as well and I’m from small town in North Carolina. The problem is in ALOT of parts of America the opioid epidemic and meth addiction has ravaged these communities (especially mine in Appalachia). Jimmy is from middle class England, so in his world the average kid doesn’t get hooked on drugs at 14-15(wish it was like that everywhere). The truth is it’s not normal, but our country, especially our communities are suffering.

Sadly, 15 is not all that young to be fully addicted. Hard drugs, maybe that’s a bit more rare. But go to any shelter, homeless encampment, jail, rehab or anonymous meeting (AA, NA, etc) and the majority of addicts and alcoholics you talk to will tell you they were addicted to something by age 14 or 15.
Do I think Oliver Tree is/was an addict? Ehhh

A good rule of thumb is "if its oliver tree its probably all part of the bit" even when hes not playing a character he will almost always sprinkle in some misdirection
So in conclusion, you haven’t cleared anything up
Back when Musigh was still posting a long time ago he posted a song called "This is Seperation" by Tree and Shelf Nunny. Everything else aside, I disagree with your assertion that "15 seems a bit early to be getting addicted to drugs and kicked out of your parent's house"
Most people who get addicted to drugs and alcohol get addicted before age 15. And getting kicked out of your parents' house often follows close behind.

Can confirm the school thing, I went to CalArts with him, he was there for music production and it is where he formed the turbo character
The biggest mystery to me is why does anyone care enough to do all this deep research and make a documentary about him when it's so painfully obvious that it's all a joke?
dude hes just an artist that exploits Gen Z meme addiction and social media identity
most people that i grew up with started using when we were 12 - then we graduated to entrepreneurship by the time we was in middle school. the experiences either became more psychedelic or experimental. our plugs always had a variety of choices for us, depending on who we were with or what we felt like doing. anyways, all this to say - 15 is normal where i am from. thankfully some of us grew out of it, but sadly a lot of people lost their minds due to drug use. and maybe i'm one of them. but its all an experience, right? just have to learn from it. i've learned that i like inebriation. thus - im aware that i have an addictive personality now that i am older - and realize that it is easy to be wrongly influenced, and even harder keeping to ourselves.
Awww, I forgot a lot of UA-camrs grew up kinda sheltered. Pretty much all my friends and family had addiction problems by the time we got to high school. Not flexing, but it’s actually incredibly common.
Im not sure even he knows who he is, it seems like he always kinda wanted to be famous and tried many different avenues until he got over it by making a whole meme out of it and now hes in limbo
I always just thought he was one of them kids that would do and say anything for people to notice him. It is hilarious he has the island boys in a music video but they dont get to rap

I met the real Oliver once before he blew up. A friend of mine was on tour and Oliver was opening the show. I had seen him on a video with Tobasco Sweet once before, but didn't know much about him. Before the show, I was hanging with my buddy and everyone else, when this scruffy dude walked up to say hey to everyone. He was super kind, a little bit of a pothead vibe. I shook his hand, he said his name was Oliver. I didn't recognise him. We hung out for a few hours, talked music, gear, growing up and Influences. The usual stuff!

2:55 I just want to step in and say that.... NO, that does not sound like a lie, to anyone who is/was an addict. addiction does not pick out certain age groups to effect. i was an addict at the age of 14-15. weed, alcohol, adderall... got sent to my first inpatient rehab shortly after that, and it definitely didn't stop there. it only escalated into "harder" drugs. i was an IV heroin/meth/coke slammer/user for over 10 years. im 33 now. I've spent *_literally_* over 3 years of my life in rehab facilities, or halfway houses/sober living houses. been to extensive inpatient rehabs 4 times, and been to over 20 clinical detoxes. age means nothing in terms of addiction. it never discriminates. i 100% believe his addiction story. i have seen pretty much every interview, podcast, text post, and video, pertaining to his drug use, and as someone who is very experienced on the subject, i would say he's not lying.
