When you went back in time, you didn't include women voting? Culture change, political change, the pussification of the masses? No way in hell you would have this immigration problem without that bleeding heart bullshit they vote for. Less nuclear families, less purpose for men, more discontent, more crime. But no there you are, talking about economic inequality creating crime when the UK was largely poor as hell and still is unless you are talking about just London itself.

      Romans 6.23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

A then imagine this…I am from Prague Czech republic. Yes, I live there for my whole life but there is not a single street in Prague, that I would be scared to go on even at 3 am. But there are children (young adults) acting like there are hoods etc. influenced by czech rappers trying to be hard so they are building this narrative that Prague streets are tough (or/and influenced by music from UK/USA). So these kids started carrying knives. There is no reason for them to do so and guess what happened. The knife crime increased. One of the safest cities and they are acting like that. I'd have to agree with you.
Gave spent quite long periods of my adult life living in and around Prague and have never once felt any anxiety when out late or otherwise on the streets of the city.
Admittedly, I've not seen the very worst or lowest income areas of Praha, but have mixed with people whose station in life and recreational tendencies would have them grouped as undesirables. Despite this, your city always felt safer and cleaner, etc, than the greater parts of many other cities that I have lived in or visited.
It's a shame that the nature of globalisation and the media proliferate wrong-headed aspirations amongst impressionable people's.

21:20 WOAH, hold up, those UAE and Qatar rates are way off. In order to have an accurate m rate to begin with, you need a certain level of equality in society where all unalivings will actually be reported and counted. Unfortunately, in the UAE and Qatar there is essentially a slave labor class of migrant workers (mostly from India and SE Asia) that experiences extremely high rates of crime and death, it's simply not reported due to such workers status in society. It's been a major issue for a while, but a lot of the world started hearing about the problem when Qatar won the hosting rights to the world cup in 2021. More than 6,500 migrant workers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were worked so hard building buildings in the desert that they lost their lives in Qatar since it won the right to host. The country still does not formally recognize these deaths are what they are; m*rders. So you just can't talk about the m*rder rates in countries with huge inequality without acknowledging that such inequality means the unalivings of the 'underclasses' are simply not counted. BTW, this also is true for countries with very high gender inequality. Lots of femicide in such countries, but those are simply not counted often.

@@magicalframe9441 Well seeing as the were "imported" at a time when they weren't doing knife crime (and the vast majority of them aren't even now) then it wasn't a factor was it. And stabbings in Scotland are still a problem. They hide them in the media by calling them "slashings" (local slang) so it's harder to find stories about them (and people like you don't really care anyway if you were honest) but you can Google *Glasgow slashing* if you can be bothered.
Also, the Cleveland police area in the North East of England has the second highest rate of knife crime, that problem is happening right now, but the existence of those particular stabby people in the country wasn't optional so no reason for it ever even cross your mind right?

    • @magicalframe9441

@@martinwilkinson7939 What do you mean by "imported at a time when they weren't doing knife crime"? It doesn't matter if most of them aren't running around stabbing people. If we import 20,000 people and 100 of stab, rape, or steal (yes, I know, not real figures don't be a pedant) those crimes could have been entirely prevented by NOT importing those people. Besides, this is only one of the many consequences of mass immigration.
Yes, stabbings in Scotland are a problem. Glasgow has been violent for decades. This isn't news to anyone. However it's an entirely different problem. One that isn't created directly through government policy. That is endemic to Scotland. You can't flip a switch and stop them stabbing each other. Get out of your bubble and quit acting like anyone who doesn't agree with you is an orcish demon. "People like you" my ass lol.
Yes English people committing crime is also a problem, but we can't just stick them on a plane to wherever they came from. You're completely missing the point.

Honestly bro, you hit the nail on the head. I moved to England in 2012 coming from Belgium and got tangled up in the drug trade/county lines and have been stabbed myself/lost close friends to "knife crime" and to me, it always seemed like there was less and less of it while also being more and more sensationalised. Most victims of knife crimes in London aren't white, so the general conservative societal mind instantly jumps to "these 'criminals' aren't here to contribute but to squeeze the UK of all its resources" while not realising the reason these things are happening are due to consistent, systemic neglect and deprivation, but people would rather blame the issue on the person itself here than take a step back and contextualise the whole situation. Nobody stops to think how it even got to this point, but are more than happy to point fingers and make it out like you deserve it.

Young Black men are by far the most aggressive and violent. Other races cause crime, but it tends to be targeted on their personal enemies. If a Turk or a Polish has a beef, he keeps it in house etc. The young black boys on the other hand just go out looking to stab someone random. Half the time they kill someone, they barely even knew them. Ignoring this cultural reality is craven and dishonest. I got no hatred of blacks btw, in fact, I find the African ones to be more respectful and honest. Its the London roadmen black boys that are proper dangerous when out looking for there opps. this happened because we have no real self defence laws and due to that any form of defensive tool, what's the point in self defence when we cant fight of an attacker. if i was to get run up on in the streets rn and i fought back when the police get there wed both be charged. the uk has taught its people to be scared to stand up for themselves and so no one does and no one has anything to defend themselves with either. which is stupid because criminals don't care if a knife is illegal they will carry it anyway and use it anyway, so why do we the public need to walk about with no form of protection whilst criminals do what they want anyway and when or if they do go to stab us were just allowed to use fists, even a legal carry like a swiss army knife would get you charged if you used it back in self defence against someone literally trying to take your life with the same weapon. give us proper self defence rights and laws, and its simple allow everyone to be able to defend themselves with everyday carry weapons, such as 6 round revolvers for public carry, pump or barrel fed shotguns for home defence, switchblade for public carry. none of these weapons hold enough ammo or power to cause mass shootings the reload time after those 6 rounds are fired is way to long for anyone to practically use it for mass shootings same with shotguns, and guess what we can regulate what ammo is available to the public ie keep it to standard rounds in revolvers and only alow birdshot and buck shot for shotguns. and now imagine everyone has self defences right and the means to defend themselves and so people take robbing, raping and killing people a whole lot more serious because now the criminals dont know what we have a gun or a knife they have no clue. so you see people would double think doing these things in public. Obviously when you mix giving your country no self defence rights, laws or even the means to defend themselves against knife crime with also cutting pensions upping the prices for essentials and taxing us up our arses with no return when we are suffering this is what you'll get. its very simple our governments just not that smart.

Around 20:00 you talk about immigration and it's relation to crime, and I think you leave out a very important fact.
In Sweden for example, the non-eu imigrants are more likely to commit violent crimes than sweden-born people with swedish parents. But the worst group is the sweden-born people with non-eu born parents, especially parents from Middle East and North Africa.
So we'll probably experience the results of the huge amount of people from ME/NA, that fled to Sweden around 2015, when their children becomes teenagers.

But like you said in the video community action and not just throwing more money at the police did the trick and crime overall went down. In the US poverty, lack of community, lack of upward mobility, mental illness, drugs and drug abuse all stew into the big pot that is crime of all types.

I got arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article. I was homeless at the time and fell asleep in a graveyard. Someone called the police and I got woken up to two officers saying "what's your name?". Given that they'd literally just woken me up, I wasn't in the most cooperative mood. I said "do I need to tell you my name if I'm not under arrest?" and he said "put your hands behind your back, you're under arrest". This shocked me, especially when he said it was for possession of a bladed article. Turns out it was because a Stanley knife I'd got for a pound from pound land had fallen out my pocket onto the grass. I was using it to cut string to make a makeshift tent because I was sleeping in the park. They took me in for 8 hours before releasing me 5 miles from where they picked me up without pressing charges and without a lift back. Whilst I was in custody they refused to give me my medication with my name clearly printed on it because "that could be anything in there mate, you could've tampered with it", and they also unravelled my entire ball of string before giving it back to me, the spiteful bastards. I had to throw it away it was so knotted. Never even threatened anyone, never mind committed a stabbing.
That said, I had a knife held to my throat in a robbery when I was homeless, by a well known local scumbag. He'd set out to rob homeless people knowing there were no consequences
After it happened to 3 or 4 friends I decided enough was enough. I knew where he lived and his full name, but the police wouldn't let me make a report without givibg my full name, which could very well have gotten me killed. So he got to carry on.
If you think this doesn't disproportionately affect the poor I don't know what to tell you.

There is nothing new in knives being carried as weapons. Humans have carried sharp implements for thousands of years, both as means of attack and defence and also to help them cook and consume food. Knives are a type of tool and like many tools they can double up as a weapon. If you look back to the 60's and 70's you will see that the carrying of knives and razors was fairly common among certain types of people. It was often seen as being tough and was very common among street gangs. This isn't anything new, it's merely the continuation of people carrying weapons as they always have done. We are predators after all is said and done, and we lack the natural weapons of most predators.

You see capitalism as a cause for young ones turning to crime, but in Sweden Malmo young refugees refused job offerings because they could make more money by selling drug. That is just one case but I'm confident that simple and fast shortcuts are why they turn to it. Culture enters the discussion here when someone's philosophy is to hustle and do it at all costs for their good, they consequently lack the foresight to see the society, especially one that they do not feel belong to.

When did capitalism stop existing in Sweden? Its semi Socialist but still has private market and a tradition of both xenophobia and eugenics... Should maybe look into the why behind some of the other stats there, like why the lower birth rates of children with conditions they can spot in utero..... There are more socio-economic than ethnicity based culture influences factoring into the larger equation than most want to accept.

You've literally described a problem caused by capitalism. If someone makes the decision to turn to crime to make more money, there's almost every chance that they can't make enough to support themselves on a legitimate wage, or have crippling debts or toxic expectations to live up to. How people can miss this stuff while talking about it all in the same breath is absurd. You need to re read your own comment and get a clue.

Random small giggle in a serious video.... 2:45 there is a few legit dinner/salad forks in the bin of knives. Were they taken while arresting that one dude for his "succulent Chinese meal?" 😅 More sincerely though, this is why you should always double check and question statistics. They are just numbers, and can be easily misrepresented or construed to support whatever goal is preferred. Like here the focus isn't on the 90% decrease in stabbings in NYC, its on the negligible increase of London (yes its a bit high, but arguably has been since my youth. I'm Canadian and remember 07/08 being far more newsworthy for Britt knifings. That's a good 15+ yrs at a concerning but steady rate, no major spikes though or continuous rising from outsider POV). But because we associate NYC with big crime numbers we falsely fill in the intentional variable they left unknown. They are using your 6th grade aversion to algebra to their advantage by simply rearranging the numbers enough to mislead without using blatant lies. It’s misreporting done intentionally with the benefit of plausible deniability.

26:03 Brit currently living in the States. Love this video! The thing about punishment/coercion, is that science, fact and research based numbers show that both dogs and children not only learn better when you reward the behaviour you want, but retain that knowledge longer. I'm just a dog trainer/behaviourist, who uses P- and R+ training with the dogs (rescue through K9s and Working Dogs) that I'm handling, and they shine. Pretty sure people also would learn better when say, they are rewarded, than if they are locked up for longer/lifetime. Here, they have the Death Penalty. It doesn't stop bad behaviour, so clearly the ultimate punishment is a failure, on many levels. Cheers.

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate you on putting together a very entertaining video. Certainly stimulates a conversation.
I agree with the issue being nuanced, but I also think you've understated the weight that culture has an effect.
You mention culture in relation to consumerism and status (I'm sure it has some effect) but neglect to mention a growing number of people's complete lack of value cohesion.
I don't think it has anything to do with race whatsoever, it is 'culture'. We now have glorified strippers and drug dealers posing as artists, selling us fashion on JD Sports ads. We completely glorify sex and violence and condescendingly boast how this is a contributing factor to multi-culturalism. I wish people understood the word 'DISPROPORTIONATE'. According to the UK 2021 census, 4.2% of England is black but let's take London; 13% of London is black. Half of those are women and even less so are children and elderly. So let's say 6% are fully grown men. 6% of the population make up 45% of London's knife murder victims, 61% of knife murder perpetrators, and 53% of knife crime perpetrators. That is 8, 9, and 10 times the amount (respectively) that they are represented in the population. This means they are DISPROPORTIONATELY committing more knife crime, yet are only 2.2 times more likely to be stopped and searched. You could make the argument that the police's crippling fear of being called racist has led to people not being searched enough.
On the subject of stop and search, it is not racist to stop someone in a high knife crime area that presents themself in a way that warrants a search. Even if they were white. If you were in a lift and a well-dressed black guy in a suit walked in, you are much less likely to tightly grip your belongings than if a scruffy white guy walked in wearing dirty baggy clothes, stinking of weed. You could argue it is a class issue. But let me tell you; if a bunch of grannies were stabbing people in Bingo halls, I would want the police to search grannies walking into bingo halls. We have lost all common sense.
While I agree income and environment are clear factors; for example, a Nigerian family in Berkhamstead with an upper-middle class income is far less likely to commit or be a victim of knife crime committed by a white person from the inner city. This actually leads me to my next point. Immigration...
in 2020, 1.3 million foreign-born nationals were claiming benefits. This was from a total of 10 million foreign-born nationals in the UK at the time. That is 13% of the foreign-born nationals. That is a substantial number which doesn't factor in their children as many of them were born in the UK. So a significant number of people coming to the country, not economically contributing and being funded by the tax-payer to live in the same places that these knife crimes are taking place. Many have no interest in assimilating or finding work. Many come here because they can easily take it without any questions, and can cry victim if anyone has anything to say about it. I don't blame them by the way. It is a pure failure of government. Not all immigrants are like this, of course but it begs the question: why are we letting in people that will be dependent on the state as soon as they arrive? How does that benefit us? I say all of this to make the point, if you feel you have no roots here, no sense of heritage and values that you have inherited, always see everything in the lens of race, the haves and the have-nots, the 'I don't have what I want so I will just take it and let white middle-class lefty students blame white people for some reason or other rather than the full-grown adult committing a crime'. Scores and scores of Albanian drug dealers with their Turkish barbers and candy shops as fronts to launder money. Moped crime becoming so rampant that it has become a social norm not to wear a watch in London anymore.
We don't shame this behaviour. We don't shame bad decisions, we instead opt for empathy. Empathy shouldn't always be applied by the way. We don't do it for nonces or r*pists, and rightfully so. Yet, we used to shame bad behaviour. We used to shame thievery, anti-social behaviour, promiscuity etc. Now we 'only' focus on the socio-economic factors.
    It isn't race, its culture.
...And our spinelessness to enforce the law even if it means that the arrest rates are disproportionate to the representation in the population. Its like we want equality in crime too. Its ridiculous.
Many of you won't bother reading this. Its mainly a rant but I genuinely enjoyed the video. Jimmy does some belters.

Apologies in advance for the essay but this was a good video, it deserved the like. You raised some good points and you looked deeply into it without resorting to slogans but I do have some comments.
Glasgow is an anomaly. Knife crime, violent crime and sexual crime, particularly against women is all rising in the multiculturally diverse European cities like London, Birmingham, Paris, Marseille, Malmo, Berlin who have all taken huge numbers of immigrants in the last 20 years. Look at a crime index of Europe and then see how homogeneous the ethnic populations are.
I don't think this is at all about skin colour, an infant of any race will see and learn from what is in their environment equally. I think this is about culture, religion and ethical values and how we've allowed millions of people to come to this continent who fundamentally do not share the same beliefs about life, family, equality, law and order. I have worked in the asylum system doing housing maintenance in Yorkshire for 2 years and I've seen these values first hand and how they directly feed into existing communities, particularly Muslims as these people come from parts of the world where Islam is dominant, unquestionable and sadly, far truer to what is said in the Quran and Hadiths. To put it simply, they have often have more extremist views.
We also have to remember the biggest security threat to the West is radical Islamism currently, and as successful attack in Moscow and the failed suicide bombing plan in Belgium at a Taylor Swift concert show they are trying to step up the scale again. Yet we allow undocumented men to come from areas which have enormous problems with terrorism and extremism. You might also have noticed the revival of sectarian politics again in the UK last election, with Muslim pressure groups funding campaigns in certain areas.
And this is not just a UK problem, it's a problem for Europe too, and we've seen countries like Poland and Hungary defy EU threats and sanctions to close their borders and are refusing to take any more undocumented asylum seekers. The Netherlands is probably going to same route and if the right continues to rise then France and Germany will start to head towards that direction. More and more are waking up to this.
