Sony XBR-65x900c Led 4K TV, 4 red blinks. Easy Fix!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 бер 2020
- This is a Sony Edge-Lit 65 inch led television that powers on with only the Android boot-up sequence on the screen, then immediately shuts off and the indicator light on the bottom blinks Red 4 times.
This sony television model XBR-65X900C is NOT an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TV like I mentioned in the Video. It just looks like one from the unique and flat design. This also mainly includes the xbr55... model TV's. This is an edge lit LED television, and the led's are actually our problem. An Led problem is usually what cause the 4 blink code on Sony led televisions. We will bypass the led feedback ciruit and thus NOT repairing, but still solving our problem. The TV will stay on! TRUST ME!

Love you man!
Same problem for my x-9300D 65”
Can I use the same method??
I have the same tv seems like it’s stuck in a similar loop once android sign comes up it turns off. Don’t see red light though
Do you know how to uninstall the legs
Where do you have the workshop, brother?
Worked a treat. Been sitting in the basement for nearly two years with the intention to be fixed when i got the time. Just doing a clear out and seen the box and thought let me take a look on UA-cam and vioia! Thanks so much.
Another satisfied customer. Easy video to follow with clear steps and guidance. This also solved the problem with my TV, the exact same model here. I was already looking at buying a newer 2023 model. Faster processor and UI. I was looking at a Sony BRAVIA XR65X93L open box item, so this saved me $1500.
Really appreciate this video. I was about to go charge up a credit card on a new tv. I know you have saved ppl a lot of money. Thanks dude.
Listen brother, you deserve a LOT more credit. You just saved me a lot of money, time, and work. After trying nearly everything else and having no luck I finally got here and this fix couldn't have been easier. Easy subscribe from me.
If I ever have any more TV problems I know where I'm going first.
Very much appreciated and keep up the excellent work!
You are a legend out here helping the community save money we appreciate you BigDogg 💪🏽😎
You are the man no doubt a bout it. Watched hours of crap vids trying to get some help with my xbr-65x900c that had same issue. Backlight has flickered for a long time and today it started the red flash stuff. I did as you did and I'm happy as a clam now that it is working again. Thanks Again for your help and not making a long drawn out boring vid as alot of others seem to do for whatever reason. Excellent Video
OMG Thank you! I have the same TV with the same issue, and it has been sitting there, dead, in my bedroom for years. I am going to get my dad to watch you and make him fix this for me. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I’m rarely successful at when diving into projects like this. My wife was out looking at TVs and I figured I would give this a try. You are the man. Thank you for your time.
How long did the fix work for you is your TV still running
OMG! Sir it did work! After 2 years of thinking if we need to get rid of it or have it fix and finally!! Thank you so much!
This was literally the easiest fix ever! Thank you!
This problem and result with shut down and red Led blinks 4 times occurd also yesterday at my Sony KD 55X9005C . Your countermeasure of grounding pin 2 of G1A board worked ! Thanks a lot for your help ! Greetings from Germany
Wow man! You are genius!! If it wouldn't your video, I would have thrown the TV away. But now everything works!! Thank you very much!! I wish you all the best!!!

Appreciated the help! Work great!
Guy told me he had to order and replace power supply estimated at $460. Took me a total of 15min for the entire process. Thanks!
Nice...
Thank you man. My 55x900c did the 4 blinking lights. I followed your steps and it worked. Everyone was stoked its working again. Saved me some cash man. Again. Thanks
You just saved me and my dad a ton of money and help my dad prove my mom wrong 👍. Thanks
Hey buddy. You’re a genuis! I wish I found you video a lot sooner. I spent $300 on a new power supply and motherboard but none was working until I did exactly what you showed in the video. And my TV is working now. Good job buddy! I’m from Quebec,Canada by the way. 😊
No problem 👍
OMG!! Wow thank you for saving me money on repair bills. And not having to buy a new TV.. I followed your step by step instructions, And it worked flawlessly.. I have the XBR-55X900C. I am now a new subscriber to your channel😊👍.. Thank you so much for your tech support..
I'm attempting to fix my 55x900c but i have a question. The second board didn't have the same writing to the right of the plug. It had it on the first board. When you did it did you do it from the second board like he did or the first?
Thanks Big Dog!!! Step by step, easy to follow, and great explanation throughout.
Thank you! Problem fixed in under an hour! Our TV is working perfectly now after following your instructions.
Is your TV still working after the fix? I'm about to do it.
@@ericdossantos202 we do have yellowing at the bottom f the screen now. Sometimes it flashes and is pretty bad, particularly when using closed caption at the bottom of the screen. A new TV is on our horizon but the “fix” allowed us some extra time.
Thanks for your video! it worked for me too! I did put the line 2 into the line 9 socket, which was also a ground, so basically I didn't need to cut any wire. your tech skills are great! thanks!
How did you take the wire out?
My gf has this issue, found this video fire🔥🔥🔥. Worked, grounded same as video.
WOW, I can't believe this actually worked on my 55in X9005!!! Thank you so much! You just saved me hundreds for new TV!!
Hey, can you remember what pin the cable was on your Tv, I have the same model as you, same issue, thanks
Do you remember the color and pin number?
I have the same tv model
Your model its XBR-55X900H??? I have the same problem 4 blink code
Man thank you for your video my 55xbr900c that I paid $1800 for on Black Friday 2016 just had this happen last night to me. It took me 5 minutes to fix after watching your easy to follow video. Thank you so much.
Did you use all the tools he used or just tried different wires
IamFokuz Muzic I can’t remember, pretty sure I stuck close to what he did, that was a year ago, I am still watching that tv right now
Is that TV still working that would be about 2 years now???
Thanks ! Method even worked for KDL-55EX720, after the fix it is visible that some of back light led of the panel or strips in full needs to be replaced.
Thanks for posting big dog 🐕, I Learn something new, as a repair man. Ur My favorite tv 📺 guy. I watch all ur vids, keep up the good work. And I still love the music.
Thank you , you have saved the earth from so much landfill and done positive for peoples lives . I would recommend turning down the brightness on all led tv, makes the led last way longer ,as manufacturers purposly make these devices to fail. They also put the backlights under the lcd so you have to remove everything including the delicate glass, chances are you will crack the screen . Thank you .
Big dog you saved me buying a new tv. Thank you very very much . You rock.
No problem 👍
Thanks so much you the boss, am from Nigeria I have spent a lot of money still not coming out good until I watch your video and it work perfectly. ❤
OH THANK GOD!!!! it worked for me :D!!!! thank you for going the extra mile man and making this video, fyi instead of attaching the cable to the screw I just unplugged it and then plugged it into the 9th spot which showed to be ground for me! :D im so happy thank you!
Thanks Big Dog, you really help me to safe a lot of money in buying a new Sony tv
I like your sense of humor.
I can confirm that simply putting the #2 wire over to slot #9 fixed the issue i was having with my Sony xbr900c 55".
The set before would not go to the main screen it would just shit down and flash red 4 times. after switching the #2 wire
the set is perfect now.
Magic! Impressive and entertaining. Thankyou, BigDog
Thank you gave it a go after Sony told me no longer make the parts small red line on bottom of the screen but can live with that thanks once again from New Zealand
You deserve everything good in your life brotha! You helped a whole lot! Thank you!
Big Dog, much love to you for your video. Its awesome as are you. And BIG thanks for the tip about the tabs that cover the screws!
great video , answered lots of questions I had on Sony OLED design, prefect FIX , you sir are a REAL TECH
How did you fix yours
Thank you so much for the instructional video boss man I just fixed my tv with this. Thank God for sparkies!
It worked!!! 🎉 Thank you so much. This saved us so much time, money, and, stress. You're awesome.
Its not a permanent solution, its temporary. You are probably gonna have problem with it and you just giving it a few months or hell if you are lucky a year or so. You just stop the warning signal of something being wrong with the t.v. and thats it. Its like taking a pain pill getting rid of the alertness of pain and not getting the pain issue fix.
Thanks worked a treat but I did order new led strips and will be replacing it during the weekend . Great bypass though 👌
I just did what you said and it work!!! Thank you!!!
Big Dog, thank you 🙏🏼for posting and saving me $$$!!!
Very informative Sir Big Dog. Very helpful for me as a beginner. Big Thanks BD.
Thanks a lot sir today I went to my friend house he had same tv sitting in the garage he said I'm going to throw this tv away if you want it you can have it but shots of when you turn it on so we brought to my house then I youtu.be it sadden your video popped up I watched just like you said cut off the wires plugged into outlet turn it on did work my son set up the rest I appreciate you and blessing who ever put it up this kind of video to help others bless you all sir
Great 👍
Saved my life bigbro!
Thanks Big Dog That Got This Craigslist Tv Going Again 😊
I did not cut the #2 wire i simply lifted the tab and the wire pulled right out, then i just inserted it in the #9 ground position.
Such a easy fix glad i did not throw the set away! three techs looked this set over and could not fix it!!! Now the set is as good as new!
Do you see on the screen is something wrong with backlight ? after this fix
@@SLIPKoRn2 NO, the screen came on like it did when it was brand new and has been fine since.
Apparently even though that "bad LED"sensor was causing my set to not turn on like it should there was nothing wrong to cause it?
My set is perfectly fine now. It is a really stupid design IMHO. Luckily this wire swap fixed it and it wont happen again now.
awesome job this corrected the problem what an easy fix thank you.
This was the perfect/easy fix for my TV, thanks!!
Hows your tv doing now
I'm right in the middle of trying to repair an XBR-55X900e. Taking the back off already, it doesn't look much like the one in the video, but have a feeling that the same fix might just work. I'll let you know shortly. Just wanted to say that I really like your style of repair videos. Hat's off and big thank youz!
Thanks again for the video. Unfortunately this fix did not work for me...will keep digging for more info.
Same…did not work for me either on XBR-65X950G let me know if u find another fix…thx!
@@estaliod Yes, this fix (from badcaps forum did the trick). Re: Sony Bravia XBR-65x900e Test pattern
Dudes! I feel so smart. One of the LVDS cables had a tiny bit of wear it looked like to me. I took a razor and sliced a few mm off, cleaned the ends, and voila It works. Wooooo buddy.
Send link plz Lol
Thank you! You helped save my tv!
Thank you so much! I did you repair and now just waiting on the remote from Amazon
Glad I could help
Yeee homie this been in my cellar for 7 months was about too throw it away or take it to a TV repair shop , it was an old roommates, decided to check out myself and looked up on UA-cam, +3k
That joke GOT ME cracking up 😂 😂 😂...how you got the tv, great video, sure helped!!!!
Worked perfectly… thank you!
Thank you for sharing expertise! Regards!
Worked perfectly thank you legend
God bless you you fixed it!
Any chance you know how long it'll last in this state or things to look out for? Our family had a weird small darkening of the screen affect happen after we fixed it (thanks to you) and just resetting picture settings to factory and making sure HDMI was plugged in right seems to have fixed that. Just wanted to see your thoughts! Thanks again!
A Big Thanks To You Big Dog
I just unplugged the second pinned and put it in the 9 pinned its a ground & its back up & running salute to ya Sir
Any LCD screens 4 sale 65inch just th3 screen
This is not recommended as all you have done is bypass the protection mode , more than likely this will cause further damage to the backlight circuit, you need to resolve the real problem which is fault leds
@@ImranAli-rp4kd it won’t make it worse. It’s not going to provide more voltage to the other leds. It’s just a half baked “fix”
@@NeptuneSega the voltage increases when leds fail , I repair TVs everyday and 9 times out of 10 the voltage goes higher and you run the risk of other leds failing and the backlight driver ic and the prism sheets might burn, sometimes the voltage won’t go higher but depends on how the led fails , sometimes it’s a short but sometimes it’s not , big problem is with Samsung TVs where there’s no protection mode and if a led fails then the tv continues to work and the leds run at higher voltage and hot and burn the prism sheets , that’s the good thing about Sony TVs , if there’s any fault the tv will shut down and go in protection mode and save the tv from further damage , it’s a good thing and not there to be bypassed
@@ImranAli-rp4kd I understand to repair properly but how can that be done if Sony discontinued led strips? I have been searching for over A year for new or used LED strips without any luck. Do you have any plugs for LED strips for A xbr75x910c? THX
Big Dog, u da best. 🙏🏻🙌🏻
This saved my TV!! Thanks :D

My 55 xbr900v started the 4 blinking lights today. Hope this works. Almost seems to easy a fix. Thank you in advance
Hello. I have a question for the technician. I have this set but I have water or fluid stuck in the diffuser panels behind the lcd. How do you disassemble the actual panel itself? I have looked up many videos and I cannot see a good way to disassemble it. Is it all glued together or is there screws holding it together somewhere? I need to remove the lcd and get to the diffuser panels behind the lcd to clean and dry them. Any input would be very much appreicated
Wowww crazy fix it realy worked. Thanks man
You got it, no worries, and thanks for subscribing!

I am having troubles with fixing vertical line in the screen I tried every trick I think on the web. You helped me fix the red blinking light and turning off. Would it be possible you could give me some ideas on what to do to fix the lines?

I'm with the same problem with Sony Kd-49x705e, but on the led board controler not printed the numbers of the cables...
What can i do to identify it?
Tanks, so much.
Nice video.
I've got an 75" LCD Sony Bravia, the XBR-75X950H to be exact. I'm having this same issue and am going to try and fix it using your method.
Hi Eddie, I have the same TV and same 4 red lights error. Did you try the fix?
Did the fix work for you? I have the same tv with this problem.
No it didn't. Had to buy a new tv
Thank you it worked,
Hey man! Im a tech myself. I just took in the 55" version of this.XBR-55x900c. I thought I lucked out when I found your vid-same symptom-starts booting up and shuts down and 4 flashing red lights.Sounded to me just like backlight issue.Unplugged the LED driver board from the main board, and the TV stayed running. However,I checked every single backlight thru the ribbons with my LCD tester-and every single one tested perfect-I believe 7 volts.Put everything back together, fired it up-now no lights what so ever.Ran threw the voltages from the main to power board, now no BL_ON or TCON_ON voltage at all. Did the factory reset, unplugged everything but the main and power board, still no voltage for backlights or t-con at all.Tells me main board is done. One strange note, when I had everything plugged in,I WAS reading voltage off the LED driver board TO the backlights. 6.3 volts I believe. However,it was INVERTED! I couldnt believe my eyes! Yes I had the red on + and black on -,but I was reading NEGATIVE 6.3 volts! If it was POSITIVE,they would light up! Very strange! I also noted the PWR_ON to the power board was staying turned on even after shutting off the TV. Just freeking whacked LOL! I checked the BL_ERR and I didnt luck out,it was holding at 2.7 volts on or off.XBRs are nice sets, but wow-the main boards go wacky!
What you maybe need is a software issue...
Funcionou perfeitamente, segui o mesmo procedimento e não ouve erro
