Thank you so much! I thought my TV was never going to work again, and buying new TV is not what we can afford to do on a cost of living crisis. You saved us money and our sanity 😊 I cannot thank you enough. Keep doing what you are doing. It makes a difference ❤️
Thank you for your video. I bought my Sony Bravia in 2020. It recently stopped working. I thought it was scrapped, until I watched your video, and did the "hold down power, and volume down, and plug it in". That did the trick. Thank you so much. I'm glad I watched this before I threw it out.
I’ve stumbled upon your channel twice for the most random issues and each time, you saved my life (and pockets.). Thank you and you have gained a new subbie
Thank you, it helped me resolve the issue. I've called Sony support before watching this video and they said it is a motherboard issue 😂. This video helped me resolve the issue in minutes and saved me huge money💰. Thanks again for the vide ☺️
The reset worked on our 43" Sony Led tv. It saved us from spending money thru repair or buying a new one. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. You guys try it too in your unit. 😊😊😊♥️♥️♥️.
Just went in my bedroom and my roughly 12 year old led TV was doing this. At it's age I wasn't surprised if it would be dead but surprisingly doing this reset twice got it back up and running. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for making this video. This issue just happened to our 2-year old Sony TV this week, and of course, it is 6 mos past the extended warranty I purchased for it. I've tried the power button reset twice, so I'll try it a few more times before starting the search for a new power board. I hate to think about buying a new TV because this one has been fantastic. Hoping this will be a relative simple and inexpensive fix.
It worked for my tv as well. I tried with volume down and power button couple of times. Then powered off and pressed power button once… boom TV is back. Thanq for the tip.U got a subscriber too
My Sony Bravia is atleast 8 years old. First it stopped responding to the remote (not original), and then the LED light sensor was blue until it didn't didnt light up or turn on at all. Your tutorial solved whatever the issue was. Thank you!
Amazing...it works!!! First method worked after 3 tries. I drained power and all volume buttons first. I was getting 6 flashing lights on KD-60X690E You Rock!!!
Thanks you mate you saved my pocket , literally going to buy new one . My Sony Bravia 55” fixed after unplugging , holding power & volume down , thanks
Hiii, would like to ask coz I have the same problem with you. After I long press the power button and vol down, the light turns green, and after a few seconds, it came back to normal light and after a few sec the light automatically turns off. And what do I need to do next? Im hanging 😭

THANK MY MANN I THOUGHT MY PARENTS WOULD HAVE TO SPEND MONEY ON A NEW TV BUT THANKS TO YOUR AMAZINGNESS IT FIXED NOW IM SUBSCRIBING TO YOU ON ALL ACCOUNTS THAT I HAVE!!!!!!
Any advice....my tv Sony 55" bravia only turns off and flashed 4 times if I put it on another input..like hdmi or my chromecast which is on an hdmi. On regular broadcast tv it stays on....🤯
You said there’s a link to instructions to change the settings when it turns back on. I didn’t see any link. What do I have to do under the settings when it comes back on? I got it back on for an hour or so and it went back off.
Hi great upload. Please can you advise? I have a Sony 55XD8599 TV and when I switch on the standby light blinks on/off Green& White there is no picture or backlights and after several minutes there is a tune that repeats but no baklights or picture visible. When I disconect the main board cable and then switch on the backligts work as expected however once the cable is refitted I get the same fault. Thank you in anticipation. Regards, Brian
I tried : 1. Pressed and held first the Volume button then the power button, then plugged in> MULTIPLE TIMES 2. Worked fine last night, haven't touched it at all and it wouldn't work after I came home today from work. After an hour of freaking out on Sony's support page (NONE of their suggestions were useful) I found your video. Now the TV is working perfectly and it only took 20 seconds to fix. You are the best and earned yourself a new subscriber.
Wow it did work for my samsung au8000... I just unplug the power cord and then hold the power button of the tv for 1 minute just hold it, and then plug the power cord back on, wait for 20 seconds and then this is the time to release the power button, then the magic begins by turning on the tv.. I did it 4 times before it works. Thank you so much you deserved a sub for me..

Hi. Ive gone thro with the 5 attempts of pressing buttons and plugging in to reset. Nothing changed. Was going to just toss it when I saw you tell another person that 6 blinking lights means something different. The last day the tv worked I had been on the menu screen adjusting some settings. I cannot remember which. I recall pressing a unfamiliar button and saw a message but i hit the next button so quick I didn't actually see the message. I watched the tv for few hours and turned it off. After that, it never turned on again. It would only flash 6 red lights. When i did the button press and plug in i would get the green light and SONY would come on. Then it would go blank again and a second later the green light would come on again as SONY reappeared. It possibly did this a 3RD time then disappear and the red light would start blinking 6xs again. Boy i miss the old days when you plugged a tv in and hooked It to cable and that was all. So called SMART things are a royal pain in the ass and are leaps and bounds LESS SMART than all the old un-smart things!!! Any suggestions? Tks so much.
After the reset "trick" that didn't work for me, I did another fix, cutting the bl_err cable, and ground it, that worked! Only a bit of soldering, a piece of cable and some duct tape! And one hell of a happy neighbour I could help for a few bucks!
It did work, don't give up..i had almost given up on it..4th time it worked...you have no idea how thankful i am, specially when this happens during quarantine!
I had the same issue the power red light blinking after I had my Sony tv for 3 years. I tried to unplug a few times but didn’t know or see the power and volume buttons to push in like you said. It didn’t work. So I put it in the room and use the older tv. Just few days ago I plugged it in and it working again. But last night after turned the tv off then during the night it was back on by itself again. I had to turn it off. Now I am going to see what is going on next? Hope it will be ok.
Hey thank you :D This really worked. Like my Sony TV wouldn't turn on, and even if it did would shut down after 5-6 seconds. So, I did this pressing the power and vol down button along with plugging and unplugging the power supply, for 5 times within a gap of 3-5 seconds each time, and voila. It Worked! Thank you :D
Hiii, would like to ask coz I have the same problem with you. After I long press the power button and vol down, the light turns green, and after a few seconds, it came back to normal light and after a few sec the light automatically turns off. And what do I need to do next? Im hanging 😭
@@princesssorayagomez5974 Hi, actually mine worked for a day, but the next day it was red again. So, we had to call the tech and get it fixed. There was some issue with the capacitor. First, the tech said they would need to change the complete panel, which was quiet expensive, but then we took the TV to a local guy, and he fixed it, some problem with the capacitor.
Ok I tried what you said what actually worked for the Sony KDL-70W830B was this worked after I powered on the television. I actually did it on accident it reset on the spot and allowed me to do a full reset no more blinking lights. But this definitely led to the solution thank you. So if this video doesnt work hold the down/power once you power it on before it turns off. It reset itself and allow you.
Volume down and power button reset worked for me but I tried to factory reset the tv from menu after that it gone to standby 8 blinking mode again , resetting is not working now , any solution ?
This must work for newer Sony tvs? Because it just worked for my Sony 900h. It says it was updating , once I saw that I unplugged it and powered it back on, and boom! It works. By the way, I only had the TV for 8 months and I got the 4 red blinking lights. I barely used the TV as well, last night was the first I left my TV on more than six hours just to see if it was updating. THANK YOU!!
I got a 77 in version of this TV. I got the main video audio cable replaced by a 55 in version of it and it worked for about a week, then when I got my order in for the bigger cable, things went south again like it was prior. I tried to troubleshoot the first way alone and nothing happened, the TV worked fine when it was fixed for that week with different dim bars for each of the sections of the TV that were assisted by the ribbon connects from the T-CON. I am giving up hope, my power supply used to click when it turned on and now it doesn't, I don't know what to do the power supply might be the issue but I'm not sure.
I did the reset then went to settings and picture and set the backlight to 7 instead of max and made sure it stayed in “Custom” for the screen settings. Working since
Hello, need a piece of advicce please. I got a sony KDL 46EX... model, it was blinking 2 times red and not turning on. I replaced the PSB and when starting the TV it now blinks 4 times red and still doesnt turn on! havent tried the reset yet, but if this doesnt work, what else could be the cause? thanks
Hi mate, got a Sony Bravia kdl 55w905 I got the 4 red flashes. First tried the reset didn't work. Replaced the inverter still same problem. It goes on for a minute or so and then turns off. Any ideas?
I have 2 Sony Bravia 900e the first one has a busted screen but still works so it’s in garage bought a newer one has good screen just the red blinking lights. What parts should I try to take from the busted screen one to fix the one that has the 4blinking lights
Hello I have a Sony XBR65X800H And can't control the light stay on as white all the time under the sony logo what should be ? I factory reset and I can control whith the buttons on the back of tv but I need the controller for more. Do you have any idea how to fix please, thanks
Your reset is different than what I was told. I was told hold power and volume down for at least 15 seconds. Then, plug it in and try to restart it. Sometimes it takes 2 to 5 times. Also, Using the remote up arrow, point it at tv and turn power on. Which actually resets my tv.
Anyone who is watching these self-repair for Sony TVs...DO NOT BUY THEM! Apparently, there is issues with a ton of TVs (mostly Bravia) power supply over heating causing screen damage or just burning out, and the one happening most often, either the T-con board or the LED strips getting damaged (or in a few cases I've seen, both of them) to either unknown reasons (as in workers at Bestbuy in multiple different cities talking about how Sony TVs on display have issues just sitting there and have to be replaced) or because of faulty products (which people have/are already looked into for a CA lawsuit). Due to the way Sony makes their TVs, they can be a pain in the ass to fix (I know nothing about how it works on the inside, just went to 3 different repair shops, 2 of which say they refuse to work on Sony TVs because they're a pain in the ass, and 1 that was "Sony certified" to fix it telling us there was a possibility that if something went wrong, we'd have no TV and would have lost $100 just for them to look at it + 1/2 the cost for the part(s)).
I would like to say this worked for me but it did not and we have the same tv except mine is a 65" and cost $5000. Besides the blinking red lights, the screen goes crazy with red and green aurora lighting. This is twice now that I have purchased a brand new cutting edge tv from Sony at Best Buy only to get screwed. Only Costco from now on AND never again a Sony tv. But thanks for the video. Glad it helps others.
Nice! Damn I got lucky I have a refurbished Sony kdl-40-r450a it has over 7000 hours on the screen and still works perfect. Ive had it almost 8 years! Never any problems. sonys tvs usually last a long ass time but guess sometimes you get unlucky. It happens. how are sonys TV quality now compared to Samsung and lg? Ive never seen any Sony models at local stores in my town. I’m gonna upgrade my screen once my cars paid off
I tried the first method several time.... and when the green light was off i leaved it for few minutes then tried to turn it on but suddenly there is sound but no display and it start to have the red light blinking again... anyone know how to solve it? *need help too broke to buy a jew tv now*
Thanks a lot. this solution worked for my parents sony tv which just had volume problem.. by discharging the capacitor, the volume buttons started working from TV as well as Remote.

Your reset is different than what I was told. I was told hold power and volume down for at least 15 seconds. Then, plug it in and try to restart it. Sometimes it takes 2 to 5 times.
Also, Using the remote up arrow, point it at tv and turn power on.
Which actually resets my tv.
It is working after 6 times doing continously ,so much thank you for this solution
Thanks... the first method on 4th try,it really works for my tv sony..😀😀this trick really saved me...
Thank you sir after a 4th attempt your channel was so helpful
What was the outcome of this tv. Did you ever get a power supply board and see if it worked?? Having the issue with mine right now
Yeah still no answer about that problem?
Will changing the power cables solve the problem??
Is it possible for any tv brands?reply please i just need help...
I loved mine up until now. Never Sony again
Thanks a lot dude.. really helpful.
It actually worked!
Thank you so much bro!!!
This really worked, thanks for the help!
Does anyone know where are the power and volume buttons if any on Sony KD60X690E model? Thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH. This really helped and i appreciate it
I would like to say this worked for me but it did not and we have the same tv except mine is a 65" and cost $5000.

You Sir, just saved my T.v. You are awesome ! 🇨🇦

Oh my god! Bro, you have just saved my biggest problem. Really mean it. Thanks. Option one worked. Thanks again.
Thanks a lot. this solution worked for my parents sony tv which just had volume problem.. by discharging the capacitor, the volume buttons started working from TV as well as Remote.
