26:58 I am 100% sure he’s actually saying “so long-a bowser” with an Italian accent. It was Charles Martinet who recently stated he’s saying “so long, King-a Bowser” - but, like Miyamoto so often does, I’m sure he just made this up because he actually couldn’t remember what he originally said (which would make sense, considering he recorded that line almost 30 years ago) and couldn’t bother trying to figure it out. It just doesn’t sound remotely close to “King-a Bowser”.
4:32 Just to clarify this part, Mario and Luigi play differently. Luigi is faster and jumps higher than Mario, but struggles with stopping still after running. Luigi was the better character but only in skilled hands.
Fuck man you really drew me in with Rosalina's backstory, I had forgotten it was so in-depth. I actually also forgot I was watching an iceberg video, it was so well presented.

Off hand I remember there's one in the megaman 3 tiles somewhere. Sometimes games do weird tiles like this as fillers.
It pains me how you keep pronouncing Kun as cun(ning) instead of how it is actually pronounced. Kun is pronounced like coon, like a racoon. It is a Japanese Honorific that is used when referring to young males. With that said, this iceberg is very well done! I actually learned some things that I *didn't* know, which is really something, considering I am very well versed with anything having to do with Mario. Edit: I just saw the ghostly face thing from the goop maps and, as I was looking at it, I felt I had seen it before. Or at least it's face. And I just cannot place *where*... does anyone have any idea of where that face has also been?
Pianissimo can mean a lot of things. Another meaning is very silent. And also the piano instrument is called pianoforte, and literally is softstrong, which resembles the soft and strong versions of the notes. Anyway great video!
Tcrf says a possibility for the orange mario was for some sort of Super Guide like in the New Soup games which honestly I'm a little surprised wasn't on the iceberg
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but there are a couple differences with Super Luigi Galaxy. Aside from Luigi playing different from Mario (one example being he doesn't stop on a dime but instead slides to a halt), the cosmic clone races are noticeably harder and the air meter underwater depletes faster when you spin (as opposed to it not affecting the normal drain rate as Mario)
Fun fact: the actors of Mario and Luigi in the bad super Mario movie were actually drunk while filming the movie because of how much of a disaster and how much they hated filming it.
Am I the only one who thinks Ludwig looks an awful lot like miyamoto? If you look at his hair, you can see the same overhang miyamoto has. And it is said that the koopalings were originally based of the developers of the game.
I doubt that was the toy train it was referring to. Further into the level, there are conveyor belts followed by 2 towers of stacked blocks of various sizes for Mario to climb. The farther side has the launch star while the closer side has a pipe for a sub-area. If you decide not to use the spring power-up and climb this closer tower of blocks, there is a tiny toy train you can see in 1st person, hidden away under a block

So saying "Bowser Speaking is Movie Logic" implies that Bowser can't talk which is obviously wrong, he talks in every Mario Party game, Every 3d Mario Game, and the Mario RPG's. And i've never seen Bowser drink anything but saying "Bowser Drinking coffee is Movie Logic" implies that he needs a good reason to drink coffee, like him just being thirsty or just wanting a coffee doesn't make any sense. They swapped "so long gay bowser!" with "bye bi!"
as an italian pianissimo means both things but in different context has different meaning, pianissimo in the meaning of soft is used to say: you touched me softly. instead in the meaning of slow is used to say: you are really slow.
That weird smileyface made me feel like it was that tornado from super Mario bros 3. I have no idea how I remembered it like that. It's like that McCollough effect.
I might've seen the tornado in Mario maker with a white face at the bottom so I might remembered it like that
It looks very similar other than the lack of a mouth on the Twister (the tornado enemy).
Fun fact: the ghost ship in Super Mario World is actually a crashed airship from Super Mario Bros. 3, hence the ghosts.
i found the gold train level in super mario 3d world on accident and im proud of it
1:50 Subcon deez n-
You know it's a good iceberg when it's about Super Mario and it has an adult content warning 😂
heh
1:02:49 there’s something so wholesome about Dedede casually taking care of a dog
the first time was a feature length film this is a whole damn dvd
The circle face sprite is obviously a placeholder for the pokey enemy. It is with the other desert sprites!
Surprised this hasn’t been made sooner
note on the Mario cartoons: some episodes are on Steam
ok i know its gonna be a banger
even if its not live yet
Fun fact: The Luigi on the thumbnail is actually from five nights at warios
1:08:17 the happy face sprite is Bit Bob
Nintendo: *Takes down fangames made by their dedicated fandom.*
Also Nintendo: *Doesn't take down PETA's offensive fangames.*
dude that whole super mario 2 bit was crazy to me
I'm pretty sure the sunken ghost ship is about Bowsers airships
you know that on the same spritesheet with the smiley face there's a pokey head with the same features, the face may have been a leftover to see how the pokey head would look like
I like this idea.
Although, I prefer to think it's a placeholder for the mask enemies
Nice FNaW Luigi on the thumbnail
The smile face is likely a placeholder for Phanto, at least at that’s what I’m thinking.
1:17:12 lol I thought that as well and even commented about it, im pretty sure ur talking about someone else but but it just made so much sense to me in my brain.
