When "The Lovely Bones" is your worst movie...you're doing something right. Also, I disagree that this is his worst. Bad Taste and Feebles are definitely worse.
You forgot one of my favorite films, his made for TV movie, Forgotten Silver. It’s a great documentary of New Zealand’s early film makers. So worth it!
I just recently watched early Jackson for the first time and it's crazy how different his early films are compared to his current style with Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Heavenly Creatures and the Frighteners deserves a little more attention.
It's great to see you tackle the impossible challenge of ranking movies especially the LOTR trilogy. I highly recommend the "making of" discs that are an amazing look at all the hard work put into this masterpiece. Great job
Meet The Feebles is my favourite of his films, hands down. "You may be 'Wobert' to your friends, but you're fly shit to me!!" Is still one of my favourite film quotes of all time.
I first heard of Peter Jackson when I was little. When I was 8 I went to this theater with old posters and one of them was Meet the Feebles. The poster was this Hippo that looked liked she was from the Muppets holding a gun. I was terrified for some reason, I wanted to leave but also wanted to see the movie I was gonna see.
The ones I’ve seen 1. Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King (2003) 10/10 2. Lord Of The Rings Fellowship Of The Ring (2001) 10/10 3. Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers (2002) 9/10 4. King Kong (2005) 9/10 5. The Frighteners (1996) 9/10 6. The Hobbit Desolation Of Smaug (2013) 8/10 7. The Hobbit Battle Of The Five Armies (2014) 7/10 8. The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey (2012) 7/10 9. The Lovely Bones (2009) 4/10
I think Evil Dead 2 handled the humor and the Horror better and wasn't so much over the top as Brain Dead. But Brain Dead's practical effects are better.
To be fair, the Middle-earth movies were done for the Tolkien fans, not so much for fans of his own movies. Plus there are extended versions of all six movies. So based on how much of a Tolkien fan you are, your mileage may vary. Let me elaborate: I once read an interview with him in Fangoria (I believe, but it could have also been some mainstream movie mag instead) during the production of The Fighteners. He said that he was offered to make a Hellraiser sequel, but he declined, because he felt he'd have put his own comedic spin on it by having Pinhead walk into walls and get stuck, which wouldn't have worked. For LotR on the other hand, he said they (him and the writers) didn't want to bring their own baggage into the movies, but rather wanted to respect Tolkien. In other words, he made these for the Tolkien fans and tried to stay as objective and faithful as possible, with changes made merely to make the plot fit a trilogy format and some changes to characters either to make them more relatable to newcomers (like making Aragorn more humble) or to keep the pace steady (Denethor's full subplot reveal timed just before the Witch King showdown would have been jarring).

your videos are outstanding
How'd you like Meet the Feebles and Dead Alive? Those are insane movies to have in any filmography.
It's great to see you tackle the impossible challenge of ranking movies especially the LOTR trilogy. I highly recommend the "making of" discs that are an amazing look at all the hard work put into this masterpiece. Great job
6 seconds in and I think your bottom three are going to be Meet the Feebles, Brain Dead and Bad Taste. I love those films haha 😂
I live in NZ and Peter Jackson did more for the tourist industry than anybody else. He is a absolute genius ❤❤
Meet The Feebles is my favourite of his films, hands down. "You may be 'Wobert' to your friends, but you're fly shit to me!!" Is still one of my favourite film quotes of all time.
Meet the Feebles is pure insanity and I love it.

His 90s Filmography/Catalog is Underrated.
How does this channel not have more subs. This content is great
Thanks!
I'd love to see you take on some classic directors like Wilder or Hitchcock.
I keep thinking about it. Maybe a Hitchcock top 10 though. The full lists of some of these older directors are pretty hefty.
@@filmranker6092 Ha, yeah. They really cranked them out. Worst ten and best ten would be fun :)
Hitchcock made alot of movies so that would be hard.
I got a chunky bit. Aren't I lucky!
Can you also make a list about James Cameron due to his New Film?
The ones I’ve seen
1. Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King (2003) 10/10

Brain-dead is the best Peter Jackson movie....
Because brain-dead is a Grindhouse movie you can't take it seriously it's just like Evil Dead 2....
I think Evil Dead 2 handled the humor and the Horror better and wasn't so much over the top as Brain Dead.
But Brain Dead's practical effects are better.

He is one of my absolute faves. So expect it in the not too distant future

Was Jackson ever considered to direct DUNE?
He has been attached to A LOT of surprising things and big franchises. But I don't think I have heard him connected to Dune. It would totally make sense though.
Maybe the problem is there are no deserts in New Zealand.
@@filmranker6092 Hmmm... Not as such, no. Some pretty massive and alien looking beaches, though. Look up Wharariki Beach.
Volcanic plateau in nth island is considered desert
Umm where's the matrix?
I don’t think he directed that film
Nothing could be worst than the hobbit trilogy.
Watch The Lovely Bones, then say that.
Judge on quality, not disappointment level.
The Hobbit films were not needed. King Kong was overdone and had bad casting ( Jack Black ).
I disagree
Lovely bones is one of his Best
Glad you enjoyed it. I for sure didn't.
