I know it's easier to say it that it is to actually do it, but I think a move to a bigger place is in order ! Thanks again for all your very interesting videos and keep on the good work :)
As someone who tried going the repair shop way. A shop in general isnt always better and just a money guzzler.
@@gmorb666 You repair from home?
@@goku445 yes
I am amazed that you can spot the faulty component in the thermal camera when other areas of the board appear to be just as hot. Years of experience, I expect.
Most of the areas that look hot are just reflections and you learn to spot that pretty quickly.
I love how he just gets to the point. "here we have the motherboard of x device, already taken apart, with this diagnosis."
great job as always alex ... great to see big boss when is he releasing his own videos ?? start to finish take down would be fantastic maybe boring to others but i think it would be theraputic ... joe
Big Boss Fix FTW!
Hey Alex!
Why don’t we see you using Uni-T thermal camera anymore?
I wonder too
I just rescued a duckling from certain death, and me and it are listening to your post. And for that I thank you. Cheers!
Just a little advice to you my friend. Buy a building with a decent amount of land and expand as necessary. You will save soo much more and the monies spent are an actual investment rather than wasted on rent with no return value. If you have a good accountant you can actually use dividend as collateral for land purchase atleast in canada. Well done I’m really proud of your family business being sustainable especially thru this pandemic.
Is the pandemic still ongoing? I thought it ended as soon as Russia attacked ukraine
@@armincal9834 it’s not a serious thing in canada right now lol.
My Asus tuf f15 just die no power no chargelight. Had to send it to ASUS who denied the warranty because the sticker was broken. I only took it apart to change the thermal paste because it was thermal throttling. In the first place. Charged me $900 to replace the motherboard. I paid $1130 for it.
No idea if where the short is and if it's GPU related so I have to bite the bullet and pay.
Worst part is that even though it's being repaired out of pocket and out of warranty they're not returning the defective board.
Dude same
I think it's time to expand the business.
@northbridge , How do you know its a 10 uF capacitor, i think I did ask this before, not sure if I missed a video whereby you replied to it, I know where to get the capacitors from ie your books and/or digikey or something But what I do not know is how you know its 10uF, I cant see any numbers on that capacitor to check for the value
Why so many Asus laptops being fixed? Are they that unreliable?
Alex, I think that you're going to need to clone yourself a few times in order to trudge through the back log of work you showed us. If I need something fixed, I'll certainly want to send it to you as a first choice and patiently wait for its return knowing not only that your fees would be fair, but it would also be in good hands irregardless of the outcome of whether it could be repaired or not. I have watched a lot of your videos and have a high level of confidence in you. You are smart and have an unusual amount of knowledge and skills to offer while using the latest and greatest in equipment and supplies. Besides that, you have a nice personality, to boot. Please keep on posting my friend.
I think 🤔💬 you really need a shop in the next door to fit all new and old stuff 😃
I just love you videos very helpful 😃
Could a laser temperature gauge also read the short when it heats up???? 🤔Something to try and may lessons the steps with the vape pen method. Looks like it's time to look for a bigger new shop, can't fit into those pants no more. 😉👍
if every people on the planet do fix their devices insted of drop in, it will help to the recycle and help the enviroment, thanks for the jobs that you realize, and all others, thanks to all
i hope you guys can afford to move to a bigger place
A warehouse will be cheaper then what we currently pay , but I like this store and it's 5 minutes walk from home.
After watching the whole video I have to say you are obviously successful at what you do. This is well deserved. You and your family are honest hard working and I have been happy in my business dealings with Northridgefix. So now now you are experiencing growth pains well good for you. I’m sure you will do what is best. Also I saw the video of the apology regarding the flux issue. It’s good to see that people are standing up and being responsible for their actions
Fantastic love these videos informative and to the point none of this 50min plus rubbish sat in a attic
You are out of space? Ahahaha. This happens if you are GOOD in what you do. Keep up the great work and you'll find space ...
should i just sell my laptop after a motherboard repair or it is still gonna last?
I love your videos. It is easy to say, move to a bigger space but the cost to buy real estate in California is outrageous. The consequences of a successful, growing business....space issues. The tricky part with expansion is the economy. If the economy goes into a recession or depression then that could destroy your business. Anyway, you'll figure it out. Congratulations on such a successful business.
I love your content, but your shop looks unsafe in terms of workspace safety. For your safety and efficiency, please either move to a bigger shop or do a major reorganization of your supplies. Love the channell, all the love from Turkey
You probably can only keep sane by taking one bite at a time and block the mountain of work out of you mind. I hope you get a "better than factory" assistant soon.
Moral of the day: Never judge anyone by the appearance. The important thing is inner beauty.
I feel your stress of running out of space. My office is becoming a nightmare in the same way ☺️
Busy guy. Keep up the good work, most enjoyable to watch you work. I'm an old timer Electronics Technician and still in the game. You have taught me a lot of good stuff too. AWESOME! Thanks for sharing.
How do I know what size cap when there are no markings on it?
Great to see you guys are busy and packed. A separate location or store just for the merchandise would be great and would allow for walk in customs depending on how many you have vs online customers.
Jon Stewart does it again!!
you are one busy guy keep up the good work .
Just yesterday, my ACER PREDATOR HELIOS 300 2019 year model gone dead, and i am thinking of replacing it with a Asus gaming laptoo, but looking at your channel, you have most of the ASUS laptops only for repair. No I am confused which brand to go for. Looks like Asus is even more problematic than Acer in terms of quality.
Asus...........a laptop you can depend on to fail but be easily repaired by the Genius Mr. Alex!!
ALL HAIL MR. ALEX!!!! YEAH!!!!
Great Show!
I learn something new in your video. You are doing a great job by spreading and sharing your knowledge with us. Stay blessed and happy.
Hey alex I love your videos I discovered this channel 2 weeks ago I'm an Electronic Technician in Lebanon and I learned so much from your videos thanks for your efforts it's so hard to find a good teacher that loves his job so informative but I suggest you add the test equipment display on video to show results for viewers.
Is this the same laptop that you asked tronics fix to send (ROG Zephyrus G14)
Hello how are you? If I buy materials from your site for my technical assistance, could you send the materials to Brazil?
How much will I pay for shipping these things?
I would like to congratulate you for the amazing channel you have, always with amazing videos and amazing tips. May God bless you without measure, and bless all your family and friends.
A hug from Brazil to all.
Warn a guy... I think I need a cigarette after seeing all your
electronic inventory goodness.. At least let me take you out to dinner
before I have my way with your goodies. I WISH I WAS RICH... Very COoL.
Cheers.
Your Business Is Blessed
Very nice video. Good and fast work. Nice shop tour. I like that. You really should rebuild and reorganize your workroom. And maybe your workspace too. You defintely need more room. What about the "gold dealer's shop" next to yours? Tell him that you need to expand😂 just a joke. Thank you for the video. Greets
Lots of Thanks and Love from Pakistan, learnt and learning many things on your channel, thanks again.
I'd say, hire some Umpah Loompahs Mr. Alex.
They don't take up much room and they work only for Chocolate.
amazing . I also wish to have a job, but I do not think I will get it. At least watching your videos will empty your heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello dear, what do you think of this hot air station: ATTEN ST-862D???
Hi everyone, i am looking for a thermal camera but the dollar currency is very high here. I can't afford uni-t 260b but is uni-t 120s useful for detecting shorted components on graphic cards or pc motherboards. İf it's not can i use with macro lens then is it useful i am wondering. Thank you for your helps.
Hey I have a asus rog strix g512lw-ws74 and recently the power button led and the keyboard backlighting and bottom light bar have just ceased all functionality.... everything is updated and installed,, one day they were working and next weren’t any idea as to why that would happen... also I emailed and dolly said she would forward the email to you
Maybe the employment of another Tech aswell if you are struggling to keep up...? Expansion is a good sign :)
Just recently you rented nextdoor and now you have no more space wow Alex keep up the good work 👍🏿 love your videos. I'm learning and have learned a lot from you. Thank You.
Since I started watching your videos some time ago, I don't buy asus laptops anymore.
I have a question: When you add the 1 volt to a component to see what areas of the board heat up under the thermal camera, does it matter when you inject the 1 volt as long as its on the poitive side of the component? For instance you inject the 1 volt into the positive side of a capacitor..does it have to be a capacitor that is grounding out OR can thre 1 volt be injected into ANY positive side of any capacitor?
Need to say, Asus engineers must improve these power supply circuits. Endless videos that you finding bad caps and shorted mosfets, or they are not reliable projects or they use cheap components? Or I´m wrong?
Hey Alex, it'd be nice if you put together a kit with the mosfets you mostly use on the laptop repairs, at least 5 units of 20 different kinds, that'll make up 100 mosfets and put it on your shop, thanks...
that lack of space must get fustrating, you guys need to get into a more open space where you can breath and relax....it's way to cramped and eventually this will spill over to your mindset and workmanship. ..
One question, what about your videos that was looking for employee? Tell us
May I ask can hot tweezers solder 201 capacitors that small onto boards? And what temperature would fry the 201 caps? Or at what temp to handle 201 I order not to fry it
Looks can be quite hard to tell is why we test multiple ways to be 💯% certain every time. Also you may want to pay for bigger room so offer the shop next door and expand ur shop 😉 😄
I think you might consider outsourcing your sales dept. Somebody to keep your stock, do your inventory control, ordering and deal with the sales.
Nice! Awesome set up! Making the most of the room. Appreciate the realness! 😁👍
Hi 👋
I am Thomas from India ,
I need some tool items very urgent,
Do you have shipment to India ( Kerala state)?
if you can get out of your lease then yes time to move away from a storefront and into a commercial location. it seems your business is mostly if not all based on internet and shipped goods. you could honestly do most of what you need with 3 rooms: warehousing/storage for e-store/shipping, big bosses dis-assembly and repair queue and your repair/ filming room. would love to see the process of building out a streamlined space for your workflow.
I mean honestly in your current location where you can snag a brand new lcd replacement for every phone available in the market you don't need an LCD refurbishing tools. Customer can save a lot of money for paying a refurbished screens but its too labor intensive kind of work.
Alex, you might need next door as well to keep up with everything! And use your vertical space :)
Was this the same model as the one TronicsFix attempted to fix? The motherboard is eerily similar
i'm french and i look all time and i'm verry impressionned by how you fix all the item, i never view a guy like you in french , continue like that you are verry good .
Nice to have the problem of too much business than your shop can hold.
I have the opposite problem - too much inventory and not enough business.
How can I learn laptop motherboard repair is there any course available online you could suggest
This seems like asus zepuyrus g14 laptop? Am i correct?
انا أشك أنك عربي من كلامك😅👏
عربي من لبنان
One quick question: How do you find out the right replacement capacitor if you don't have the schematics of the board? Which capacity do you have to choose?
I know with some items like the Asus Alex knows them pretty much off hand. I would imagine it’s mainly experience in what parts of the board they are on, and what other caps may be on the same circuit
Yall need a bigger shop. But that's just room for more stuff.
Regards to the Big Boss, Ahlan Ahlan, are you guys Lebanese?
Don't think about moving. Look at what Lou Rossman went through...
Love it to See all the Work. I would Love to Work on it but based in Germany 😩
How do you exactly know what is the right amount of voltage to inject?
This is a paid advertissement from Atomizer FLux
like always, its just soooo satisfying see you do repairs 👍
6:05 well, caps suposed to have polarity, right? So how do you know which is the positive and negative end? Sorry for my ignorance, I'm just in the early learning process. Thanks!
A lot of caps don't have polarity, you're probably thinking about electrolitic caps, they most of the times have polarity
Cant imagine to poop while seeing a whole bunch of RTX wkwk
You need to take a job accepting holiday for 2 weeks to clear the back log.
You can change the name of the channel to AsusLaptopFix 😂
U can also use lighter fluid or isopropyl alcohol to find shorts for that same purpose.
They have very good tools. It would be nice to be able to work with you.
"the only room that we have in the bathroom here,is for someone to sit on the toilet"🤣🤣
Alex You The best. thank You so much You Helped Me A lot.
You might want to consider renting a small warehouse!
You should repair something from the bath too to avoid time waste 😜
I think you're short on space and could use some help.
can you give me ur thermal camera details
are smd caps and resistors and coils clearly marked from the videos i cannot tell.
Hi Alex we would like to seed a 2 hours work flow to help us newbees on the business how things run
رمضان مبارك وبالتوفيق
Im a organiser/Carpenter i can do it for you..! 12:00
that's the first time I hear you call big boss you're dad
Perhaps it's time to move to a bigger shop
This Guy is defintly a Doctor.
where my pc motherboard???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I learn alot on your videos, thank you sir
Hola colega, como se llama el capacimetro de usas?
Dude's toilet costs more than my whole house :)
What is the controller you use to switch your video ???
Does anyone know why ceramic caps failing short is such a common failure cause for consumer electronics these days? Is it mechanical stress? I know MLCCs are very prone to cracking from board flex if they're in a vulnerable position.
