Am I the only one who finds the inside of the vault when its panning up to look visually like a library full of books? Like they went full circle to either Hari's library, or that the Foundation is the Encyclopedia Galactica?
This has to be, in my opinion one of the most powerful scenes in this series. It took a while for me to warm to the diversion from the books, but season 2 episodes 8 to 10 have got to be some of the best TV I have ever seen. This scene was relief and heart wrenching regarding those who survived and those who did not. I would love to know what Glawen's future is after this scene.

End of season 2 FOUNDATION so great DEMERZEL the best character at the same time affecting his program forces him to make questionable choices to preserve the Empire. I didn't expect SALVOR to die! Hari and Gaal are dormant and we will find them again for season 3.
Books turned into TV shows have their forgettable failures like the WOT disaster. This, is a remarkable success. If you like sci fi. This is definitely a series to watch. Only downfall is it takes so long between seasons. But wellllll worth the wait. Apple TV+ is the new sci fi channel.
Yes... this vault nonsense has now completely and utterly betrayed the books. I liked the genetic dynasty and thought it was a genuinely worthy addition to the novels being adapted. To give the audience continuity and an obvious representation of the imperial decay. But Magic Seldon and his supermagic vault just takes all the credibility away. Seldon wasn't superman. He was a brilliant mathematician whose innovation in maths allowed him to predict what vast numbers of people will do as a group. Not a wizard
@@gabriel3888 "the vault can do many great things", I bet saving people on space is included, imagine how powerful the foundation will be if the crew of empire's fleet and their spacers is on seldon's side
I am impressed on how Foundation evolved as a TV series. It went from being slightly above mediocre in season 1 to "holy shit that was awesome" in season 2!
by far one of the very few books turned into tv show where the writters made alterations like the cleonic dynasty and it worked, the book readers loved it.

Definitely because now it’s starting to get to the real meat of the books. And I love it!!
How exactly does Hari have all this god level tech?
I have a feeling that Demerzel isn't the only immortal robot we'll meet in this show
You asked: 'How exactly does Hari have all this god level?'
That's easy! You ditch the science and engineering and just make stuff up.

Yes...but based on this scene, does anyone really die with the Ex Machina of the Vault?
I am so happy that they survived :) I thought i will end with this series if they would destroy first Foundation :D
Visually it must be inspired by the final scenes of Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Yes I agree. Very reminiscent of the mother ship arrival and the disembarkation of the various 'abductees'
Why do I think there are AIs of the Foundation members, not flesh and blood?
Foundation is not a place, it is a people.

My thoughts exactly. Hari Seldon is really from Gallifrey!

Are they only the inhabitants of foundation or the crew of empire's fleet too?
Glawen was on the planet, so he came too.

Haven't you heard, Sci-Fi is now just using popular ideas to suit your narrative shocks

This technology is excellent. 😮
