I love the way he just wrecks that Subaru throttle at 6:39 and 6:46 -- those positrac-driven dual streams of muddy chunks just being flung out of those deep treaded knobby rear mud tires is fantastic -- he's really got his boot in it at those points!! If I had been in that driver's seat and could see behind me; seeing how my boot was causing such a thrashing and such fantastic dual streams of chunky debris being ejaculated out the ass end like that, feeling how my big boot was making all four of those deep treaded mud tires serve me so obediently like that, I totally would have creamed myself right then and there. What a pleasure it would have been to slog out there in the deep mud, and affix chains on all four of those mud-coated, deep treaded tires, and then be able to just go "walkin" right on out of that sinewy morass.
That subaru put that Hilux to shame in every pit.
The Subaru did so great because it has more ground clearance due to IRS and IFS (independent front and rear suspension) the Toyota has probably 9 or 10 inches of ground clearance while the Subaru has probably around 12 or 13in.
and the Subaru is MUCH lighter

When that Subaru comes romping up through that quagmire at 5:17 with those locker-driven, lugged, deep treaded, oversized, knobby mud tires slinging gobs of that muck out the ass-end, first with the driver's side at 5:40 and 5:44, following by the passenger side flinging that massive stream of debris 50 feet back at 5:46, I'm just so jealous of that lucky guy in the driver's seat. I can't even imagine the pleasure of being hung up there starting at 5:48; back-and-forth, digging it in deeper and deeper, with all four of those bitchin mud tires flinging clods of debris all up over the car; I just love the way that left front tire keeps flinging the slop up onto the sides and the bumper area, and between slamming it, the brown mucky crap is dripping off all the surfaces; the car gets more covered and brown as the fight goes on. Were I in that little Subaru, I would have kept up that fight another 30 minutes until release.
Still releasing loads on this scene -- geez I would like to have bought that little bitchin machine right there in the mud hole.

Callum Thomson well, the runner is heavier than the subie so it was probably tougher for it
why would that matter?, if what your saying is the Subaru is more off-road capable in this type of terrain versus the Toyota then yes you are correct.
Run V8, or 2jz turbo in 4 runner at hi gear its drive more better ;) Diesel engine is too slow...
@@thehighcountrymedicalclini794 it definitely makes a difference but I love both the Toyota I own one now that's lifted and I really love Subaru's I've owned more of them over the years and they go like tanks that's a fact

Sooby Build specs? I had one of those, and took it offroading, but the stock motor makes like 3 hp
