Oi m8 Thus the reason they are modified from they way they were made from factory , as they obviously intended from factory to go Four wheelin...lol...the complete lack of a factory transfer case with low range pretty much means they were intended for no more than a mild snowy road commute or dirt road to Granny's house ...lol...even this video is pretty weak offroading that a stock non modified pickup can do ...tooth pick axles...rubber band motors...crappy approach and departure angles ...yep these are just the offroad beasts everyone overlooks . You will also note that some 30 year old dented up shyt boxe rice mobiles appear to be the ultimate pussy repellent as you will notice no chicks anywhere within 50ft of this shit show...lol...not even the overweight Jeep girls that look like Lesbians that deify the rules of fat chick jumping ability .
As a Jeep owner and a subie owner. I disagree I can kick ass in my Jeep on37’s long travel and lockers but it’s not as fun as pushing my subie to the limits. I enjoy the challenge of picking lines and clenching every time a big rock comes close to my oil pan. And having to actually think about what I’m doing. Consider my Jeep a old dirty hooker she has seen and done it all and my subie a fresh teen wanting to explore. When there is a will there is a way.
@@yerwrng awww your last paragraph ...now that's some funny stuff rite there, even if your a subi wheeler/lover like me!! Seriously that's birth control on a video. At least they have each other ...beard's and all.
The music didn't do it for me but the video did! (really well shot/edited!!) cool group you got up there..I miss the pnw but not the 9 months of rain, my gills never grew in. This makes me want a Subaru!!!!
Thanks, I hear ya on the music. I would change it if I could edit it again. Appreciate the words. It was some nasty weather to film in with my brand new camera. No stabilizer, just hand held. It was a fun trip. Rarely get chance to go on them, but had opportunity for two. Hope you get into a Subaru soon. EJ22 for life :)
I keep coming back to this video. It's so good. I need more. I live in the Midwest and went to Oregon to buy a 1990 Loyale to modify! I've got a 2" lift and a snorkel about to go in(had mud in my air box/MAF and I'm surprised I didn't blow the engine. Cant wait to go scare some jeeps soon 😂
I used to ride dirt bikes at Walker about ten years ago and was wondering If my stock 4runner would make it. Glad I saw your video. It’s pretty impressive what your rigs are capable of.
Bryan I am surprized i had not seen this Sooner...met the Ted with the Blue wagon with scoop in Granite Falls Last saturday....funny to see him wheeling in this video...I got to get out and Do some of this kinda wheeling soon....Cudo's to you crazies....
I need a Subaru asap lol but if anyone knows the answer how hard is it to put a truck transfer case in one so you can have a low range for better torque?
just bought a 1977 subaru wagon would love to go to walker with you guys I live in big lake at the bottom of the hill let me know when you guys are going next
I would be concerned at steep angles oil could get in the cylinders and foul the plugs... Not that it would really hurt anything, but it would suck to try changing plugs in the middle of a mud hole... Especially the back one on drivers side UGH!
Bad ass, all of it. I have an '03 Forester, completing a 2in lift tomorrow, it seems possible to replace a CV axle, if one breaks, without taking off the hub?
Do it before & have triple the fun why wait as you can see. Check out sumo.com they got what you need to habe fun now and forever. Subies all the way. Go enjoy even stock they're great show your fun. Subies fan for life rock on Subaru
At 2:30, did those come with limited slip diffs or lockers? or have they been added? Because I get much more diagonal wheel spin in my forester, and one wheels spin on the front wheels due to the open front diff.
A lot of the guys were having custom lift kits. I recommend SJR, he has a wealth of knowledge. www.sjrlift.com/collections/ea82-gl-dl-loyale-1985-1994/products/6-lift-kit-fits-ea82-1985-loyale
What size lift did Patrick have on his GL hatch? I just bought a 1985 GL wagon with the 5 D/R tranny. I am located in Washington as well and this is exactly what I bought the car to do. I believe I have a 2" lift already but thinking about going a little bigger. Looks like A lot of fun!
Hey, I'm just a bit north of Mt. Vernon up here in Bellingham and I've got a '90 Loyale. Any of you guys know where I can get a lift kit around here? Even just 2" spacers? I can't seem to find any.
What modifications did you have to make? Just the lift and big tires? Don't the really old ones like yours have some sort of locker? I just noticed that there weren't any post '94 or so.
I been wanting to talk this guy out of his stock turbo wagon. It's 88 I think. I'm not sure but it's badass. I miss my old legacy wagon. Killed it in my friends field jumping it after mudding.
All you need is a Subaru with A/T tires and you would be surprised how many places you can go. If you want and every day driver and do some trails get a forester xt,outback, or crosstreck. After that throw a 2" lift, skid plates, and A/T tires and have fun.
markeldamgaard don’t forget crystals to hang from your mirror and never go speed limit or above, forget how to drive, and be a yuppie all you need to be a Subaru driver!!
I just bought a 2014 crosstrek and have taken it through some very muddy and rough areas with huge ruts and dips with no problems at all but I'm curious if anyone has lifted an XV yet and if so, what they used.
Anyone have information on how to put this much lift on these old Subarus? I have one and it looks like bigger tires are going to hit the stock springs.
That is because Walker Valley ORV Area is designed for Off road Vehicles if equipped with a Washington State Discovery Pass. These trailers are meant for 4x4. The gate is closed for the general public who are not 4x4 capable. The boulder was purposely designed to prove each vehicle if it be 2 wheeler, 4 wheeler, truck or Subaru to enter. We were met with a park ranger to show our passes. He is only person, emergency vehicles, or maintenance personal who have access to gate. www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/washington_04652/ride_498d.htm
i know this is an older vid but im doing this to my forester now and was wondering if these guys are using subframe spacers as well as a suspension lift to get this high. i have a 2" spacer lift on my struts but mine is no where near this high
Wow, I want one of these, I had been looking at a crosstrek or forrester for my base layout of a modded awd/4wd trail rider, because I don't wanna be like everyone else and just get a jeep, lol.
Nick F If you don't want a jeep but want a proper 4x4 get a runner they will last forever. If you want to daily drive and have a blast off road get a forester or any of the high ground clearance Subarus
What an underrated video. Even non Subaru guys would enjoy this. I can’t wait until my Baja is running through this kind of terrain
Can't wait. Just got my daughter a 99 outback and this is what she wants to do with it 😢 raised her right

What!!?? No Foresters!!?? I want to hang out with you guys so bad it hurts!! I want to do this same type of lift but to an '02 Forester. My idols..
I'm really tempted to get a 1-2" lift for my 07. These guys are convincing me to kill my wallet...
Inspired!! Already lifting the '99 Legacy wagon, (and turbo down the road) but i might need to go even higher!!

Do you find with 80's Subarus that you have let the engine revs drop before you can put her in reverse, otherwise a grinding noise occurs every time..

Awesome thanks for the info! And the speedy response. Love these videos!

Arrgh no skid plates under the Oilfilter and pan, most on the trip is changing axels ha ha! Nice rigs.

i know this is an older vid but im doing this to my forester now and was wondering if these guys are using subframe spacers as well as a suspension lift to get this high. i have a 2" spacer lift on my struts but mine is no where near this high
Yes they are running 6" subframe spacers and 6" strut top spacers with larger tires. It will take a bit of fabricating to get there.
What modifications would you recommend to be done to an 03 Subaru Baja in order to take on similar roads?
Very interested in doing this to my blue 87 wagon gl.. I have the turbo ea82..

Full scale models of the old Stomper toy trucks!

are there any trails there where I could take my 2013 Tacoma without suffering body damage?
I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe take a dirt bike and scope the area first.
You gotta pay the scratch and dent tax if you wanna play dirty.
Where do u drive looks alot like the trails I ride in my honda civic here in washington.
