Pre-Meet in Mt. Vernon @ 10:00. A rare show of Subarus gather onto what they say is a typical drive. From driving over 2’ boulders to the entrance of Walker Valley Offroad Park with weather conditions consisting of snow, ice, rain, and pathways mostly mud and water bed crossings; the group made it through OK with only minor body damage and a broken headlight, snapped rear axles, and a bent rear hub.

What an underrated video. Even non Subaru guys would enjoy this. I can’t wait until my Baja is running through this kind of terrain
Can't wait. Just got my daughter a 99 outback and this is what she wants to do with it 😢 raised her right
Now this is the best video I've seen so far of the 4x4 subbies!
Mute. Your own music in the background
@@m4rk4nthony10 lol
Mad respect to these drivers and those awesome subis for getting thru that gnarly terrain!
beautiful, thank you for posting this.
Everything about this is awesome... love those old subarus. Great driving.
I LOVE THE WAY YOU FILMED THIS!!! wish I’d see you guys at the gambler 500 in Oregon 2022
GREAT video! I had a Loyale Wagon once, and absolutely loved it. I miss that car.
incredible! no wonder you all love these things.
I'd be having a blast. This looks like so much fun!
Una experiencia a otro nivel, doy gracias de la oportunidad por aver conocido tal maquina
Jus got a 97 inprezza outback wagon.. this video is stirring my imagination.. love this vid!
this is what Subarus were always made for!
Oi m8 Thus the reason they are modified from they way they were made from factory , as they obviously intended from factory to go Four wheelin...lol...the complete lack of a factory transfer case with low range pretty much means they were intended for no more than a mild snowy road commute or dirt road to Granny's house ...lol...even this video is pretty weak offroading that a stock non modified pickup can do ...tooth pick axles...rubber band motors...crappy approach and departure angles ...yep these are just the offroad beasts everyone overlooks .
You will also note that some 30 year old dented up shyt boxe rice mobiles appear to be the ultimate pussy repellent as you will notice no chicks anywhere within 50ft of this shit show...lol...not even the overweight Jeep girls that look like Lesbians that deify the rules of fat chick jumping ability .
That comment pretty much describes it. Lol
yerwrng couldn't have said it better myself.
As a Jeep owner and a subie owner. I disagree I can kick ass in my Jeep on37’s long travel and lockers but it’s not as fun as pushing my subie to the limits. I enjoy the challenge of picking lines and clenching every time a big rock comes close to my oil pan. And having to actually think about what I’m doing. Consider my Jeep a old dirty hooker she has seen and done it all and my subie a fresh teen wanting to explore. When there is a will there is a way.
@@yerwrng awww your last paragraph ...now that's some funny stuff rite there, even if your a subi wheeler/lover like me!! Seriously that's birth control on a video. At least they have each other ...beard's and all.
This looks badass can't wait to get my legacy all ready for the trails 🙌
Hi guys,, that's amazing doing that with more 30 years old cars! Fun and nice pics!!
Absolute units. These Subies are what my GL wants to be when it grows up.
I keep coming back to this video. It's so good. I need more. I live in the Midwest and went to Oregon to buy a 1990 Loyale to modify! I've got a 2" lift and a snorkel about to go in(had mud in my air box/MAF and I'm surprised I didn't blow the engine. Cant wait to go scare some jeeps soon 😂
I love your videos it makes me miss both of my 84 gl-10 's
Good camera work and editing.
Pretty sad I missed this trip. Looks like it was a great day for it!
komo levantaste tusuvaru tengouno
Thumbs up to you guys & this cool vid you guys put together. I love subies.
this was freaking awesome!!!!!
buying a 94 legacy gt this week and this is my plan for it. here in pa we have some badass trails so should be a fun time!
Great video!! looks like you guys have a blast!! Definately dig the modified Subbies!!👍
This video is so awesome. Can't wait to get my loyale little higher...
The music didn't do it for me but the video did! (really well shot/edited!!) cool group you got up there..I miss the pnw but not the 9 months of rain, my gills never grew in.
This makes me want a Subaru!!!!
Thanks, I hear ya on the music. I would change it if I could edit it again. Appreciate the words. It was some nasty weather to film in with my brand new camera. No stabilizer, just hand held. It was a fun trip. Rarely get chance to go on them, but had opportunity for two. Hope you get into a Subaru soon. EJ22 for life :)
You guys wheel pretty hard I'm impressed.
Nice video, great cars guys - looks like fun :)
I used to ride dirt bikes at Walker about ten years ago and was wondering If my stock 4runner would make it. Glad I saw your video. It’s pretty impressive what your rigs are capable of.
This is awesome. I live in mt Vernon Texas and my subaru is a 1990 justy 4x4.
Looks like a blast !
my 1st vehicle was a 1987 manual subamoo GL hatchback with mudders. that thing was a beast! use to out 4x4 my friends pickups
I've owned many cars NEVER NEW ONES. hand me downs 2k here got me my first 97 OUTBACK in 2007 with 70k on the clock.... Ran it till 285,200miles. Never EVER LET ME DOWN . A True Snow Beast.. Troopers thos last ones.... coolest 87ish 1.8 with the 4wd on the stick was a lil fukcer..SuuBeeeeee NATION. We Are the Black Sheep. Subbed now I have to Catxh up on ur vids
This is exactly what I wanted to do haha. Gonna drive my impreza til 250-300k miles and then turn in into an offroad battlewagon

Love it!
Nice touch of Röyksopp at the beginning!
Inspired!! Already lifting the '99 Legacy wagon, (and turbo down the road) but i might need to go even higher!!
While maybe not anything this extreme, I used to take a 2wd gl on some pretty gnarly trails. I bent the floor pans into the seat bottoms.
love this video! I have an 87 L series on 27's, won't ever be this awesome though!
tremendo video.. saludos desde chile
very cool vid guys.
All you need is a Subaru with A/T tires and you would be surprised how many places you can go.
If you want and every day driver and do some trails get a forester xt,outback, or crosstreck. After that throw a 2" lift, skid plates, and A/T tires and have fun.
markeldamgaard don’t forget crystals to hang from your mirror and never go speed limit or above, forget how to drive, and be a yuppie all you need to be a Subaru driver!!
@@webbspawn WHAT>?
Just getting into these things The GL's are so hard to find in the south. I can't wait to find one
Looks fun as hell.
Love the older subarus :3
What!!?? No Foresters!!?? I want to hang out with you guys so bad it hurts!! I want to do this same type of lift but to an '02 Forester. My idols..
I'm really tempted to get a 1-2" lift for my 07. These guys are convincing me to kill my wallet...
Full scale models of the old Stomper toy trucks!
Loved those 4x4 stomper's!!!
Those were when they really built them right still love my 06 though
Bryan I am surprized i had not seen this Sooner...met the Ted with the Blue wagon with scoop in Granite Falls Last saturday....funny to see him wheeling in this video...I got to get out and Do some of this kinda wheeling soon....Cudo's to you crazies....
YOU guys rock! No pun.... I'd love to go out and just watch ya beat the crap out of those sweet ole Subaru's!
Just got a 2000 Forester 5 speed.love it
This is sick
5th watch through of this video. The olive drab "truck" Loyale owned by Josh is what I plan to replicate soon!
I been wanting to talk this guy out of his stock turbo wagon. It's 88 I think. I'm not sure but it's badass. I miss my old legacy wagon. Killed it in my friends field jumping it after mudding.
Bro that chopped subys off the chain man o_0 love it
Ahhhhhh! It brings a tear to my eye LADs....... I think a 4in lift kit would look blyatiful on my 90' LS 2.2L SUBAKAZE
I need to lift my Subaru! :D
Awesome vid!
now these are some proper battlewagons
Bad ass, all of it. I have an '03 Forester, completing a 2in lift tomorrow, it seems possible to replace a CV axle, if one breaks, without taking off the hub?
wow love the subies. I'm getting a 92 legacy wagon soon and I'm planning to make it look somewhat like Todd's in the vid. I also live in WA
:D
Wow, I want one of these, I had been looking at a crosstrek or forrester for my base layout of a modded awd/4wd trail rider, because I don't wanna be like everyone else and just get a jeep, lol.
Nick F If you don't want a jeep but want a proper 4x4 get a runner they will last forever. If you want to daily drive and have a blast off road get a forester or any of the high ground clearance Subarus
6 inch lift kit on the new 2.5 Impreza and you'll be just fine
Pura vida soy de Costa Rica Centro América y me gusta mucho las Subaru
Dang! What a Subaru can do!
Pretty awesome I have 3 old gl wagons
That was a hard-core road.
Fun stuff! Sucks I don't have an off-road Subaru community in my area. If I lived there, I'd love to try with my Subaru XV.
I'm itching to take my 07 foz somewhere...
Had a white 89 GL wagon miss it!
Was wondering if these guys still get together up there at Walker Valley I just bought a 83 wagon
all have
great tires
I think saying that was a hard-core road, was an understatement...on that road, I can understand why the cars are all beat up.
badass Subarus wonder why they had trouble getting around the gate
Hell yeah 👍💯👍
just bought a 1977 subaru wagon would love to go to walker with you guys I live in big lake at the bottom of the hill let me know when you guys are going next
Arrgh no skid plates under the Oilfilter and pan, most on the trip is changing axels ha ha! Nice rigs.
Do you find with 80's Subarus that you have let the engine revs drop before you can put her in reverse, otherwise a grinding noise occurs every time..
Don't you have a video on how you do this crazy lifts?
What modifications would you recommend to be done to an 03 Subaru Baja in order to take on similar roads?
Just got back from their testing out my 2001 Forester
man looks fun, ive got a 2inch lift on my subi but nothing like these haha
nice rob bailey remix too
At 2:30, did those come with limited slip diffs or lockers? or have they been added? Because I get much more diagonal wheel spin in my forester, and one wheels spin on the front wheels due to the open front diff.
I just bought a 2014 crosstrek and have taken it through some very muddy and rough areas with huge ruts and dips with no problems at all but I'm curious if anyone has lifted an XV yet and if so, what they used.
Save yourself the money from having to replace your transmission and just go buy a Subaru loyale for like two grand.
Hey, I'm just a bit north of Mt. Vernon up here in Bellingham and I've got a '90 Loyale. Any of you guys know where I can get a lift kit around here? Even just 2" spacers? I can't seem to find any.
What modifications did you have to make?
Just the lift and big tires?
Don't the really old ones like yours have some sort of locker?
I just noticed that there weren't any post '94 or so.
So sick! I would love to take my fozz on this but i wouldnt make the huge boulders haha
Where do u drive looks alot like the trails I ride in my honda civic here in washington.
Who knows maybe Well see you around the mts some time.
I would be concerned at steep angles oil could get in the cylinders and foul the plugs... Not that it would really hurt anything, but it would suck to try changing plugs in the middle of a mud hole... Especially the back one on drivers side UGH!
I'm a jeep guy...but that was impressive!!
Nice video, can you please tell me the name of the first music track ? Thanks !
What year of engine for suburu that is non interference? Pre 96?
I like the older body styles
Someone should have made a lift for the amc eagle back in the day
David Poston my dad had a amc eagle on 31s back in the early 90s. He would pull a trailer with me and my brothers dirt bikes on it up to the mountains and rally the little thing. It was a lot of fun.
My dad's business partner had one when I was a kid. He would haul a Vermeer stump grinder w a 4 cyl....huge. Think the eagle had a 6 cyl. It was a woodie too
i know this is an older vid but im doing this to my forester now and was wondering if these guys are using subframe spacers as well as a suspension lift to get this high. i have a 2" spacer lift on my struts but mine is no where near this high
Yes they are running 6" subframe spacers and 6" strut top spacers with larger tires. It will take a bit of fabricating to get there.
Anyone have information on how to put this much lift on these old Subarus? I have one and it looks like bigger tires are going to hit the stock springs.
OMG I Miss my 85 GL Wagon
Very interested in doing this to my blue 87 wagon gl.. I have the turbo ea82..
I need a Subaru asap lol but if anyone knows the answer how hard is it to put a truck transfer case in one so you can have a low range for better torque?
how it is that their are so high?? I just bought my legacy wagon mk1 and I also want to be so high.
This group is so good. They need a better cameraman though. Video too shaky.
I am so god damned envious of you guys and your rigs. This vid makes me want to put a 4 sale sign on my YJ and get a GL.
Chace Butterworth do like me and just get both
Dude, please don't get under a car supported only with a hi-lift jack. Not safe. Cool rigs!
Hi, i live in patagonia and own a 1994 legacy gx, my question is.... gearboxes and diferentials are standard ?? or there is some modification to do ??
eduardo sobol it looks like some of these rigs have locking or welded differentials.
