  • Two Palestinian youth seek personal freedom through skateboarding while growing up under occupation. They wish to spread their love for skateboarding throughout their communities and help skateboarding progress in their country. However, they face resistance both from outside and within their own cultures.

Thank you for shedding light on this. We need more light shone upon the Palestinian community, and how there are still apartheid countries in 2023.

So, the day the park was opened, the israeli forces came up just to prevent some kids to ride their boards? Like somehow they are against skateboarding or what's the reason? That soldiers footage needs some context, it feels a lil dishonest. An explanation to why these walls even exist is also missing.

Dude do some research . The isreali apartheid regime is pretty well documented. Isreal terrorizes them at any chance they can get. Free Palestine .

@@mattcharbonneau1563 It's alright Matt, I've been researching this conflict for quite some years now. U dont need to school me on it. If you are calling apartheid you need some research. Begin by lookig for the reason the wall is there.

@@Pedroepacas haha you mean when armed Zionists forcibly pushed Palestinians out to create a Jewish state starting in 1947 creating 750 thousand refugees and setting in motion an ethnic cleansing. They have a wall to keep them trapped and under control and to try to prevent self defense from the Palestinians . It is very much so apartheid.

@@Pedroepacas there's more than enough evidence to call it an apartheid system, at this point in time not a lot of groups are even trying to debunk that, rather shift away from the topic (fortunately justifying a system like apartheid doesnt make it any less discriminating). There's even Israeli and jewish groups labeling it apartheid. International human rights groups and activists identify it as apartheid. Whether one thinks it's justified or not well.. that's whole nother can of worms. The soldier footy was obviously taken from elsewhere and the use of it in this context can be argued I'll give you that, but it is general knowledge that the Israeli forces have and continue to use scare tactics over the decades to punch down on palestinians eg. Forcefully shutting down unsanctioned events and group gatherings, invading private spaces among other things and I've experienced it first hand upon visiting the west bank. I'll give you links to some sources if you feel the need to do some further studying on top of your research and fact check my statements. I'm not even going address the border wall thing, if someone in the 21st century thinks border walls built by one side to shut out another is in anyway a solution then there's not much I can say there.. However, I feel that regardless of our views on the politics, they're skating here and stoked about it. That's cool right? If we can agree and be pro anything, why not pro skateboarding for all. The point of this video remains larger than politics - skateboarding is a global, unifying thing that can grant you a sense of freedom no matter where you're from

@@AnthonyLemon To accuse Israel of being an apartheid state, just means you don't know what an apartheid state is. Side by side it's easy to see israel doesn't have a single similarity to the South African regime for ex. Arabs, muslims, jews, christins, blacks, whites and many other minorities have full rights to be citizens and fully participate on the government. Have you been to Tel Aviv or any city there ever? The reason the wall was build it's simply to reduce the chances of an bus/car full of explosives to drive into a crowd of civilians every day and blowing their lifes out, just cause of the Idea that jews need to be eliminated. Palestine has their own national movement, and many of them do NOT want to be part of israel. In '67, palestinians in East jerusalem, they were all offered full citizenship and nearly all of them refused, cause they cannot accept that a population(jews) that can trace their history to this land for over 2000 years have the right to be there. If there is anything close to an Apartheid, look at the 15+ arab MENA countries colonized by the islam who expelled almost every one of their jews in the last century.
