This is how I've been starting all my games too recently. Shell horrors are pretty easily to kill once you put burning, bleed, and poison on them. I'd also like to add that you can guarantee an unsuspected strength iron weapon just by killing the Golden Matriarch and grabbing some dreamer root at Conflux mountain. Between those 2 weapons you can just chill while building your character. Happy to see you again Penta!
The spear is nice to keep a distance, but enemies hardly fall if you don't kick them first. I find the greathammer amazing because juggernaut does confusion and the high impact greathammer does in general. Using the fang greathammer, the shelled horror don't stay on its feet much. Gotta stay close and use its special attack a lot. Try to use a bolt varnish since the scourge are weak to lightning damage, or fire varnish to burn them and counter their health regen.
Well the spear is safer in my opinion, problem with the greathammer is that it is slow and requires a good sense of timing imo. That being said once it hits yeah enemies are pretty much doomed. (i have touched on this in my warhammer guide ;)). I just think the spear is overall a better beginner weapon but with this guide you can make any horror weapon. And as for varnishes i just took whatever i had in my inventory but yeah bolt is best against any scourge creature.
Ha, that fight with the shell horror would take me so many lives I would give up and come back much much further in the game. I struggle to beat those things at late game stage when I have all the best of gear. Thanks for the content.
as long as you drop your back pack and be patient, focus on dodging and moving around to his side or back to attack you should be fine, just avoid trading blows with it toe to toe or it will eventually catch you out between your combos or break through your guard and knock you down, i mostly fire ball them, dodge around to hit them twice in thier side or back then repeat that,
@@eddard9442 Thanks so much for the tip. I have just under 1000 hours of play time. I have never ever finished a game there are so many places I will not go and many enemies I will not challenge as I cannot compete. Outward is a game I really love and I recognize I will never win at. But it passes the time for me along with the personal frustration. I can always start a new game.
@iamurage no worries, I'm the same with having places I don't dare venture haha, I'm trying to change that lately and I look how guides on how to beat these tough creatures

@@pentagram4872 I agree, the spear is a beginner friendly weapon.

Gotta love the horror kittens
I cannot find the shell horror you fight in the vid, did they remove it or something cause im looking in the same area?
It can sometimes be quite hard to find, the area is large. Can be hiding in the middle of the corrupted cemetary a bit further.
Thanks
Np ;)
