My favorite Outward build so far was ethereal-based, using Gep's Blade though I eventually replaced it with ghost parallel. Combined with properly enchanted manawall armor, it was so fun to lay down a ghost drum and shred most enemies in the game.
Just fail the mission. Get the Radiant Wolf Sword. Give to an alt via spiltscreen. And reload before you enter the Lotus and be successful. You can reload an earlier save on console by holding all 4 shoulder buttons when hitting continue.
Yooo! I never knew you could find other saves with the 4 shoulder buttons! And you saved me another playthrough for blue chamber, I don't like rissa lmao I'm still learning things after all this time, dope af 😂 Thanks again for your old lil comment homie ✌️
I can't really disagree Brand does the job really well regardless of build. All others perform really well within their respective rolls. I personally would have swapped the radiant wolf and geps blade due to still being able to get the quest rewards and sword with multiple playthroughs and it like tsar weapons never having risk of breaking where geps has the negative of the ethereal resistance as part of just the sword. But that's just personal preference. Great video as always.
Ah ya that makes sense. Maelstrom, radiant, and geps were all hard to place on this list tbh. They are all pretty equally strong in there own way. But ya Brand just hits the sweet spot in so many ways.
My fav so far is Cerulean Sabre with Rainbow Hex Enchant :D As you mention hehe or using Strange Rusted Sword early on for the sweet Elemental Vulnerability.
It is funny to see the different opinions between mage players and non mage players lol. Most mage players would think the strange rusted sword is really useful, while non mage users tend to think it is a trash weapon. It just has a particular set of skills lol.

I feel like the masterpiece sword should've gotten a mention for physical damage builds. Its damage is nearly as high as the tsar sword, and it buffs all weapon skill damage by 25%. The only things it doesn't seem to work with are guns and spells. All in all it's one of the best swords in the game for a build prioritizing physical, as not only is it the highest damage sword that still has a normal swing speed, but that big of a boost to all weapon skills is completely insane.
Very late reply, my apologies, but I'm loving my pure rune mage build. Philosopher mana Regen and rune magic with tenebrous armor and lightmender lexicon, never need a weapon or repairs.
Nice list! Agree with almost all. Something to note about the cerulean sabre. The steel one is a bit faster and better for just apling hexes. Altough if you wont use the rust lich set you dont loose out much, as the cerulean sabre has some ok phys damage to it. So is prob better for a phys-hex hybrid build.
I think the iron weapon enchant with that are all amazing actually. Each is pretty fast to swing and deals enough damage to match better weapons. I usually prefer some other options for unique builds, but they are very strong throughout the entire game.
I paired Brand with Gilded Shiver of Tramontane dagger which does pure cold damage. Using Speedsters Probe with alertness lvl 2, it applies Confusion. After 3 fast Probes, enemy has Pain, Confusion and Chill. Then you hit it with pire Cold damage opportunity strike. Just chilling in Outward :) I really wanna try sometime this on Wendigo. As technically Chill drops good chunk of their resistance. By the way, speedsters Probe can help any dagger build as it puts Confusion on lvl 2 alertness and on lvl 3 alertness it inflicts Pain. You way better then me at dogging, so that should be no problem for you :)
Probe is actually an amazing skill that I tend to sleep on. The fact that it applies confusion and pain over a few hits gives it a lot of potential. Love the Cold set up btw. Really fun to play Outward like that and I am sure the dagger makes it even crazier.
Yes the steel sabre is faster then the Cerulean Sabre, and if you do have the Rainbow Hex on it the physical damage is not important. Some builds don't even want physical damage.
Question... if you use puncture with Geps blade does it apply to everyone in aoe? Same question about weapons with age enchantment. And.... how would look and work monks Flash Onslaught with Geps blade?) Will it make aoe per opponent and potentially one-shot golems in Rust Lich boss fight?)
Puncture will only apply the the enemy you hit I believe. The Aoe can deal damage but only ethereal or whatever type the AoE is. Monks Onslaught does do an Aoe to each enemy hit making it very interesting. Not sure it can one shot but it will do a lot of damage.
I just hate that when swapping from a one-handed-weapon with shield to a bow, it can increase your weight because the shield goes straight to your inventory causing more weight if you're near overweight it can be a pain at times .
I agree it can be a pain. I try to have enough room in my pocket so that I can have both in there at one time. Once you put them in there they go to your pocket instead of your bag.
Ah this is the master kazite armor. If you legacy chest kazite armor it gets some really nice buffs. You can also enchant it to have really good impact and damage bonuses. So I went with rogue engineer, warrior monk, and cabal hermit. Good buffs to elemental damage when you need it and really nice impact that keeps enemies on the ground.
Graphics upgrade aside, would you recommend playing DE or Oldward? Personally the main thing holding me back was this comment I saw somewhere else about how the pacing of DE is off - it was meant to stop players from feeling like they needed to rush to endgame, but some of the changes implemented (vs Oldward) made it feel even more useful (but more difficult as well) to rush to endgame instead. I guess the politically correct answer is to play and see for myself haha.
Definitive Edition is better than old Outward and you should play it rather than the original version. Why? There is much more fun combat. Running into unique enemies really does add a lot of excitement to the game. Enemies that were supposed to be challenging (rock mantis, shell horror) are challenging now which feels a lot better. Unfortunately that's about it. The stash chest being connected is amazing and being able to trade samples with Evangeline for ones you need is great as well. I don't think it messed with pacing really at all. You can still get your build together instantly if you want or go it with under powered gear. But its still the same game at its core. No crazy changes to quests or anything like that. But it all comes back to those unique enemies. They bring a lot more life into the game and nothing is so difficult that you feel like your climbing a mountain just to win. Also the enchanting is way better in this version with elementals being everywhere. That is a massive plus for this game. Hopefully that helps!
Honestly that are very good. Never breaking and still fast makes them viable for many builds. However, I usually try to pick weapons that are more unique in stats. For most one handed weapons I would say tsar is worse than iron though. With the enchant obviously.
I have recently been using puncture again and it is a very powerful skill. Never tried masterpiece weapons much though so maybe time to delve into them.
